Chapter 2
It was soon the next morning and Loid turned over to hug his wife sleepily, glad it was his day off. Yor snuggled closer to him with a pleased sigh. Though she was supposed to be only pretending to be a good wife and mother, she did truly love how Loid was so nice and how he always thought of her and Anya. He truly was a good husband.
Just then, the door to their room opened and Anya walked in slowly. Yor chuckled and motioned her daughter to come closer to join them for morning snuggles. The little girl climbed up on the bed and got between her parents as Loid moved back a little to make room for her, letting his daughter slip under the blankets and she settled down with a content sigh.
It was only when the birds chirped outside their window that Loid woke up and decided to get up for the day. Yor woke up then too, stretching and Anya yawned as she woke up too before smiling at her parents. "Morning, Mommy! Morning, Daddy!" She said brightly.
"Good morning, sweetie," her mother said.
"Someone's very chipper this morning," Loid said with a smile.
Anya giggled. "Daddy, what are we going to do today?" She said. "You said you were going to take me and Mommy somewhere today."
"I did?" He asked with a smile, pretending to have forgotten about that. "Hmm. I can't seem to remember. Do you, honey?" He asked his wife.
"No, I don't," she said as she played along.
"Yes, you remember, Daddy," Anya said with a grin. "Because you never forget. You said that yourself."
"I did, did I?" He asked before suddenly swooping in and tickling his daughter's stomach, making her squeal with laughter. "I know I don't forget how much I love hearing that sweet giggle first thing in the morning."
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! DAHAHAHAHAHAHAHADDY!" She laughed out.
Yor chuckled at seeing her husband tickle their daughter. "Daddy's got you!" She cooed to her daughter, making the little girl laugh more.
"Who's our sweet, happy little angel?" Loid asked before blowing raspberries into his daughter's neck, making her squeal happily before he let her up and she giggled, reaching for him and he picked her up, holding her as she hugged him happily.
"I love you, Daddy," she said.
"I love you too, sweetie," he said.
Yor smiled. "You know, I still have some of that bonus left," she said. "Why don't we go out for breakfast? My treat."
"Then I'll treat us to the movies later," Loid said.
Anya perked up at hearing that. "Can I get a big waffle, Mommy?" She asked.
"How about two big waffles?" Her mother said, making the child's eyes light up.
Loid smiled. "Alright, go get dressed, sweetie, and Mommy and I will meet you in the kitchen," he said.
"Okay, Daddy," the little girl said, running off to get dressed.
Yor smiled at her husband. "Day off?" She asked.
"Yes, dear," he said. "For you too?"
"Yes, thankfully," she said.
They got dressed and met Anya downstairs as she was dancing around happily. "Come on! Come on!" She said eagerly.
Her parents chuckled and they were soon walking down the street to the restaurant that was just a ten-minute walk from their home. Anya walked in between her parents, holding their hands while her father stood on the right side of the sidewalk as traffic sped past and Yor walked on the left side of the sidewalk, smiling at her husband being protective of her and their daughter.
The waitress at the restaurant greeted them warmly. "Loid Forger, table for three?" She asked.
"Yes, please," Loid replied.
"I have your private table all ready for you with the finest view," she said.
Yor looked at her husband with a smile. "Why, you already planned for this, didn't you?" She said.
"Yes," he said. "And I already paid for it, my love."
She smiled. "Well then, I'll buy the movie tickets later," she said.
"I already bought them too, dear."
Anya smiled happily and Yor chuckled. "Well, you have to let me buy you and our daughter something at the shopping mall later on," she said. "And you can't say 'no' to that because I know you've been eyeing a pair of shoes for work lately."
It was true and he chuckled. "Alright, my love," he said.
They enjoyed a delicious breakfast with waffles and fruit before going to go the mall for shopping, since the movie theater was in the mall and wouldn't be open until a bit later.
Anya skipped a little ahead of her parents, not going too far before pausing at the candy store window and peeking in. There was a candy maker by the shop and he was making chocolates and other candies and displaying them for all to see. Anya watched in fascination as the candy maker took some ribbon candy and shaped it into a bow before dipping the ends of the bow in dark chocolate and setting it out to dry.
"Mommy, Daddy, look!" She said excitedly.
They paused to watch and the candy maker noticed Anya, to which he smiled and lifted up a rainbow lollipop that he had made earlier and it had finished cooling. Winking at Anya, he took some pink ribbon candy and placed it on the lollipop in the style of Anya's hair before adding candy dots for the eyes and nose and using dark chocolate to paint a smile on the lollipop. He then held it out to Loid. "For your daughter," he said.
"Thank you," Loid said, about to pay the man, but the candy maker shook his head.
"A gift," he said. "I always give free candy to the children."
"Thank you," Yor said with a smile, touched by the man's generosity. "Anya, what do you say to the nice man?" She said gently.
"Thank you, Mr. Candy Man," the child said with a smile.
"You're welcome, little one. Enjoy," the man said.
They stopped at the shoe place next and Yor bought the shoes she knew her husband wanted and she got an extra pair for him. "There," she said with a smile. "Now you don't have to worry about needing shoes for a bit, honey."
"Thank you, dear," he said before they headed for the theater, which was now open. The theater they went to had private balcony seating and Yor was surprised when her husband led them to the stairway leading to the seats. A doorman stood at attention and Loid handed him the ticket to the reservation, to which the doorman nodded and opened the door for them.
"Up the stairs and first one on your left," he said. "Do mind the top step. There was a spill earlier and it's just been cleaned up, so it may be a bit slippery."
"Thank you," Loid said politely and led his family up the stairs. He went first and then Yor handed Anya to him before taking his hand and they were soon in their seats, enjoying a wonderful movie together, the two adults holding hands lovingly while Anya sat in between them, happy as a clam.
Like I said, a lot of fluff. :)
