Clementine looked at the man with a mixture of distrust and fear; her situation was not very good.

Alone in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, having to take care of an older girl who acted like a child, wounded in two parts of her body, and a stranger in front of her door. What could possibly go wrong?

- I am sorry for the disturbance, I can see that you are in a rather... delicate situation.

He said, pointing to his leg, and then to Clementine's head, who gave him an "innocent" look.

Clementine- It's okay. I don't like to stand still for so long anyway.

She replied "gentle", she didn't have much choice but to play the "innocent little girl".

- Is there anyone else around?

Her analytical brown eyes scanned the visible interior of the cabin, focusing on Clementine again soon after.

Clementine- It's just me and my dad. Who are you?

The girl felt a bad feeling in her stomach as she stared into the man's eyes, but ignored it.

- I'm actually your neighbor. My family and I are established down the river, just follow the shore. I'm surprised we haven't met before. What is your name?

He raised his eyes again, scanning the surroundings calmly, as if looking for someone. He looked at her again as he asked her name, forcing his way into the cabin and taking a closer look inside the place.

Clementine- Carley, and your mister...?

She felt uncomfortable by the man's sudden intrusion, but was not in the best position to say anything.

Her golden eyes focused on the revolver in the holster at the man's waist, getting a slight idea of who he might be.

- George, it's a pleasure to meet you, honey.

He held up his hand, which Clementine shook, somewhat reluctantly, but embodying her character.

George's eyes turned to the inside of the cabin once more.

George - This is a great place. Is there anyone else around? You don't often see such large cabins around here, it could pack a lot of people in here.

He looked at her again.

Clementine- It's just me and my dad.

George-Yeah? What's his name? Where is he? I'd like to talk to him, something quick.

He opened the kitchen door slightly, making Clementine even more suspicious, but pretending to be oblivious to the man's search.

Clementine- He's out hunting. His name is Ed.

She replied gently, putting her hands behind her body and acquiring a "saintly" look.

George gave her a half amused look, which left Clementine confused and a little more hesitant.

George- Strong name, I like him already.

He said, walking calmly down the hallway and looking around the room, casting his eyes on a few paintings on the wall.

George- Well, I'll cut to the chase, I'm looking for my people. Seven of them to be exact. They've been gone a long time, and I'm worried that they might have gotten lost, the forest is very dense and can be confusing at times.

He looked at her again, gesturing gently as he spoke.

George - A couple of farm boys and an old man. A Spanish guy and his daughter, a quiet, shy girl, a little taller than you. A big guy with dark skin, and a beautiful pregnant woman.

Clementine- That's a lot of people to lose. It even looks like they ran away, being such a big group.

The man looked surprised for a few moments, and then his amused look returned soon after, a little "brighter" than before, as if he was enjoying the situation, or enjoying the conversation.

Whatever it was, Clementine was not enjoying it one bit.

George-Hah, sometimes I even think that, but we are very close. This whole situation is a pain in the ass.

Clementine- Where did they go? Before they got lost?

George - To look for supplies, we have enough people, we need all we can find.

Clementine- You send a pregnant woman and a little girl to look for supplies? Wouldn't just the men have been enough?

She asked innocently, and the question seemed to catch the man off guard, and for a moment, just a few seconds, he looked annoyed, but soon after, that same amused look came back just as strong as before, and was beginning to seriously bother Clementine.

George - Heh, smart girl. To tell you the truth, we found her and her husband not far from here while we were searching for supplies, and they were having some difficulties, especially since she was for the girl, we decided to bring her here to teach her how to contribute to the community, how to survive, in case she needs it. As I said, we have a lot of people, but we don't live in a camp in the forest, so I asked some of my men to bring the two of them to our community.

He crossed his arms in front of his chest, looking almost "defiant" at Clementine, who continued with the "innocent" look.

Clementine- Maybe they're already there.

George-No, I would know.

He turned, opening the kitchen door and walking into it, looking around in an analytical way.

Clementine followed him, mentally wishing him to leave soon.

He walked toward the sink, leaning on the table with one arm and looking at the dirty dishes.

George - That's a lot of dishes for just two people, looks like a tornado came through here.

He looked away from the sink, and focused on Clementine, who was leaning gently on the counter, putting her head on her arms.

Clementine- Yeah, I supposed to be doing the dishes. My father wanted to do the dishes before he left, but like I said, I don't like to sit still for long.

The man's gaze became more intense for a while, sending shivers through the girl's body.

George- Just passing by, or have you been here awhile?

He crossed his arms, straightening his posture.

Clementine - Just passing by, but due to my "accident" we decided to stay a little longer. Maybe that's why we haven't met until now.

She sat down in a chair, leaning her arms on her knees, and her head on her arms.

George - ... That's a nice machete you have there. Your father gave it to you?

She felt more uncomfortable as she saw him looking at the knife, but she kept her innocent appearance.

Clementine - Yes, you know, in case I run into one of those things and he's not around.

George- Easy to handle, light for a girl your age, silent, long lethal blade. Your father is an smart man, I'm starting to like him more and more.

He straightened up again and walked back to the cabin room, taking a closer look at the room in the place.

George- This place is great, kinda cozy.

He said more to himself than to the girl, who stood quietly, watching him as he made a little tour around the place.

George - I know a man who only wears shirts like that. A smug son of a bitch. But a smart man.

He said, looking at a shirt lying on the couch.

Clementine- What's his name?

George- Carlos. I miss him.

She arched an eyebrow, already knowing who he was, growing a little more uneasy around him.

The sound of a door closing caught the attention of both of them, who looked upstairs.

"Damn it Sarah!" - Clementine thought.

George- I thought you said there's no one here.

He said, walking towards the stairs and picking up his revolver.

Clementine- And there's no one here. It might have been the wind.

She tried to make an excuse, but it was obvious that he didn't believe her.

George said nothing and began to climb the steps quietly, staring at the door that had supposedly shut.

He opened it, pointing his gun in case he found something, or someone, around the room.

Clementine saw Sarah hiding under the bed out of the corner of her eye, and walked calmly to the front of it, pretending to observe the room.

Clementine-See, I told you.

George didn't look at her, he just stared out the open window, putting the revolver back in its holster.

George: Yeah, that's what it looks like. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude.

He turned to her, still looking at her with the same amused look.

He walked toward the door, but stopped halfway, smiling and laughing softly.

Clementine was confused, and had a bad feeling in her stomach.

Clementine- What's so funny?

He lifted his head, stopping his laughter, but keeping his smile on his face.

George-You're a very good liar, I admit it.

That took the girl by surprise, but she kept pretending.

Clementine - I don't know what you're talking about, what do you mean liar?

George - You don't have to go through with the act anymore dear, I already found my proof in the room downstairs. You can thank Luke for getting you involved in this.

His tone was somewhat amused, which was really getting on Clementine's nerves, as if he was just teasing her.

He walked to the bedroom door, descending the stairs quietly.

Clementine- What? And what did I get involved in?

She asked, there was no point in pretending any longer.

George-You have a great day now, Carley!

He looked at her, not wiping the smile off his face, making Clementine sigh, slightly annoyed and completely confused.

Clementine - You too, Carver!

He looked up at her again, widening his smile even more and continuing to walk toward the door, closing it soon after he left the cabin.
