Ok I know that my chapters are really really short and I'm going to try harder to make them longer. Now, before I start I just want to answer some questions and thank some people.

Thanks a bunch to Pixyfairy120, Layce74, Yana5, Lollo, MustIBeAMalfoy, driven to insanity, Twisted Crimson, BabyTraci, GeminiEmerald, Ningchan, Sirius' Widow, Draco23Luver, Limegreenlion, Wyall Jared, frizzy, Kaylie, Toby7, eminem4eva, draculadeeda, SailorBaby16, Rebel Out For Blood, Fallen Angel, neko, and Andromeda Summer for the great reviews!! When I started to write this fic I was so scared that I would get like no reviews or that if I did they would be bad lol so I just wanted to say I think you guys are all great! I hope that I didn't miss anyone!

Rebel Out For Blood—you know, I didn't even think about poor Mr. Potter lol Thanks for reminding me about him and I'll see where I can pop him into the story. =) thanks! SailorBaby16—As to your question about when Harry and Draco are going to get together, it isn't going to happen right away. Like, it won't be official for a couple chapters. And as to your other question, I'm planning on having Harry meet some of the original gang. I'm also thinking of leaving Ron out. Now, before anyone of your Ron-lovers come after me with rocks, I just want to say that I really don't see him as being too important to this story. Hermione is going to move into the best friend slot. I'm planning on them having a really close friendship. Neko—lol I know things seem to be going pretty quickly between Harry and Draco but at the moment I don't think that this story will end up novel length so I decided things had to get going lol This fic might end up having a mind of its own so goodness knows how long it will end up. I suppose I'll have to wait and see along with everyone else. =)

And a very special thanks to my beta, starry serpent. *huggles*

Oh and I'm really sorry that it took forever to get this thing up and running. My internet got messed up and I didn't have access to it. On with the story...

/// That can never happen ever again. Boys like girls, boys like girls, boys like girls. ///

And with that last thought in Harry's head he drifted into an uneasy sleep. In the morning he planned to completely avoid Draco at all costs. He also decided that getting a job would probably be a good idea. Back in Surrey he had worked in a painting store. Sure it was boring and he had to deal with customers that refused to believe that the color in the can would come out like the label said it would but the pay was good. Besides, he was 17, his parents wouldn't let him live a day without nagging him constantly to get a job so he got dressed and set out for Main Street.

"Here you go sir, thank you," Harry said to the man he hoped would be his future employer. He had just handed him his application and hoped to God he would be hired. It would be so great to work in a music store, a lot better than the supermarket he had applied to an hour ago. Before he left he thought it would look good if he bought some CDs so he looked through the racks and rows and had just picked up a third CD when a girl that looked his age with bushy brown hair picked up a CD nearby and began to speak.

"If you like those bands you should give this one a try," she said to him with a shy smile, "and I'm not just trying to get you to buy it because I work here," she continued, pointing to a nametag that read "Hermione."

"Oh, umm, I've never heard of them. What sort of music is it?"

"Just trust me. Besides, if you end up not liking it you can always return it," then Hermione paused as Harry looked at the song titles and then added, "Are you that new kid on Draco's street?"

/// Great. I should have known that he would know people! I'm such an idiot, ugh! ///

"Oh, yeah, I'm Harry. How do you know about me?"

"Draco, of course! He was talking about you about a week ago to anyone who would listen. You know, my shift ends soon. If you want I can bring you to Lou's and you can meet everyone. Lou's is the pizza place down the street. I guess you could call it our hangout," she said with a laugh.

"Well, I don't know..."

"It'll be fun, c'mon! If you stay holed up in your house for the rest of the summer then what will you do when school starts? You won't know anyone and wouldn't that be awkward? Besides, you'll be stuck in your house during the school year studying!"

"Okay, okay! Ring these CDs up for me. Hey, you think that you could put in a good word for me with your boss? I just applied here and it would be great if I got the job."

"Oh, you applied? Cool! Yeah sure I'll put in a good word for you. It'll be so cool if we got to work together here. You know, I think that I'm going to ask Phil, my boss, if I can leave early so we can head over to Lou's," Hermione replied and then headed to the back to talk to Phil. When she came back out she was on her cell phone and excitedly chatting away and without stopping she grabbed the CDs out of Harry's hand and started ringing them up. When she held out her hand expectantly, Harry gave her the amount due and took his bag. Then, she grabbed his arm and proceeded to haul him out of the store and down the street without getting off her phone.

"Here we are, Harry, everyone else should be getting here soon," Hermione said happily as they arrived at the pizza place.

"Who's everyone?" Harry asked uncomfortably as he wondered if Draco would also show up.

"Dean, Seamus, Cho, Neville, Luna, and Angelina. No Draco though, sorry. When I called Dean he called Luna who called Angelina who tried to call Draco but no one picked up at his house. Oh well, maybe next time and besides, he lives on your street so you can see him whenever," she said as she gave him a sly smile.

A smile that made him very uneasy indeed. A smile that made him think she knew and who knew, maybe everyone knew...

"Hey! So, this is Harry? I'm Cho. Ooh, he's cute. Too bad Draco's after him..." a girl said as she sat down at their table.

/// Oh gods, everyone knows! Okay, just breathe and act natural. /// "Hello," Harry responded with a blush for the "cute" comment.

"Hey guys, over here!" Hermione called out to a group of people who were walking in, "Harry, this is Neville, Angelina, Seamus, Luna, and Dean," and pointed at each teen when she said their name.

"Hey!" they all called out while trying to squeeze into the booth that Harry and Hermione were already sitting in.

"So this is the new kid? Are you into any sports? We have a pretty good football team you know," asked Dean.

"Or are you more into the arts? We have some great artists at our school," Luna chimed in.

And so the questions continued for quite a while but when it was over Harry had decided it was worth it. These new kids seemed nice and he thought it great how each of them had their own little thing but they were all such good friends. When they had all left Hermione offered to walk him home, an offer he gladly accepted. He liked this girl a lot. She was easy to talk to and seemed genuinely interested about his old life back in Surrey.

When they got to Harry's house, his mom invited Hermione to stay for dinner and then let them go up to Harry's room, where Hermione flipped out her cell to tell her parents where she'd be. Harry couldn't help but laugh when Hermione had to give her parents a detailed description of him and where he lived but then quickly put on a straight face when she handed him the phone. Apparently, her parents wanted to talk with him.

"Hello, Mr. Granger. I'm Harry."

Well, it was funny five minutes ago when it had been Hermione who was being grilled...
