I am not a huge fan of Zeke and I really miss the Jared and Michaela scenes. Please comment and review and let me know if you would be interested in this story being continued. Hope you enjoy!

Michaela was finally sitting with Ben and Cal on the plane. Everyone else had taken the earlier flight back, but they had volunteered to be bumped for a little extra cash. So, after sitting in the airport for an extra couple of hours they were finally about to take off. The flight attendants had already asked the passengers to turn off all electronic devices, but Michaela sat staring at her phone for the millionth time that trip. About six months ago Michaela and her best friend Evie had been in a tragic accident where Michaela was the driver and Evie unfortunately had lost her life. Michaela was struggling to make peace with the fact that her lawyers had somehow convinced a jury that she was innocent and therefore felt like she had committed murder that day that Evie died while sitting next to her in her car. About two weeks ago Michaela's boyfriend, detective Jared Vasquez had asked her the ultimate question. He had asked her to marry him. Although at the time Michaela would have loved to say yes, she had still asked him to give her time to think it over as she felt unworthy of marrying someone as great and amazing as Jared. Jared told her to take all the time in the world and that he would be here waiting for her, for as long as it took. Michaela had gone with her parents and her brother and his family on a one-week vacation to Jamaica and told Jared she would have an answer by the end of the trip.

Well today this trip was finally coming to an end and Michaela was no closer to having an answer for Jared than she was the day he proposed. Her mother kept telling her that Jared would not wait around for her for forever. Her brother, Ben kept saying that she deserved this, she deserved to be happy, to have a wedding and honeymoon. That it was time for her to move on with her life and she so desperately wanted to believe them. So here she was once again staring at pictures of her and Jared when it finally hit her. Every time she looked at these pictures she smiled, not because the pictures were funny but because each picture brought up amazing memories that she had created with Jared, the man that she truly loved. Michaela finally realized that everyone was right. She did deserve to be happy, despite what she had done to Evie. So, she minimized the pictures opened up messaging scrolled down till she hit Jared's name and smiled as she looked at the last text, he had sent her earlier this morning.

Text from Jared: So, are you marrying me or what?

With what felt like genuine happiness and excitement Michaela texted in the three letter words that Jared had waited to hear from her for so long and then immediately shut her phone just as the plane took off from the ground. Michaela sat smiling and looked at Ben knowingly.

Michaela: I told him yes, Ben. I told Jared I would marry him.

Ben: Michaela, congratulations! that is great news. I am so happy for you two. What did Jared say?

Michaela: I don't know, I texted him as we took off so had to shut my phone and didn't get a chance to see if and how he would respond. I was really excited, I still am, but now a part of me is extremely nervous would he still want to marry me?

Ben: Of course, he does Mick, you have nothing to worry about. I'm sure Jared was more than happy to have finally gotten an answer from you especially since this is the answer, he was hoping to hear from you all along.

Michaela: You think so

Ben: I know so.

With that Michaela and Ben both decided to get in a little rest before they were to land in New York and would be forced to face reality.

Meanwhile back in New York Jared who was extremely nervous as he waited for Michaela's answer was sitting at the bar with Lourdes

Jared:I know it's going to be bad news.

Lourdes: Jared, stop.

Jared: I should have never proposed so soon after the accident. I mean, she's not ready. Now she's going to get off that plane and turn me down.

Lourdes: No. She's going to get off that plane and say yes.

Jared: Are you sure? –

Lourdes: Please. We've been friends since forever. I'm so totally psychic.

Jared's phone dings. He looks at it.

Lourdes: Michaela am I right?

Jared: Of course, you are. It's a text from her. I am way too nervous too open it. What if she said no.

Lourdes: And what if she said yes.

Jared: I don't know.

Lourdes: Well, you will never know if you don't look at the text. I would offer to read it first, but this is a private conversation between two people who love each other more than anything in the world. She is your soulmate and if you would stop torturing yourself, I'm sure she said yes, but you won't know unless you read it.

Jared took a long hard breath before opening his phone and letting out a squeal.

Lourdes: So, I was right, wasn't I?

Jared: Of course, you were. I'm not sure why I ever doubted you, or most importantly ever doubted her. I know that I might not have proposed at the best time for her, but I just so badly wanted her to know that I loved her regardless of anything else and that I was there for her not only for the good moments but the hard and difficult ones as well.

Lourdes: Michaela knows that Jared, trust me she has told me countless times that she doesn't know how she got so lucky for someone as special and amazing as you to love someone like her. She just needed time to realized on her own that even with all the bad things that have happened lately she still deserves this.

Jared: Thank you Lourdes

Lourdes: For what?

Jared: For being the most amazing friend to Michaela, for always being there for her and for me whenever we need it.

Lourdes: Of course, she is my best friend you know.

Jared: I do.

Lourdes: And I know that today is the happiest day of your life, but if you ever do anything to hurt her and I mean anything big or small, you will have to not only deal with Ben but me as well.

Jared: I wouldn't dream of having it any other way. Now would you mind helping me with one last favor

Lourdes: Of course what is it?

Jared: I want to have a small and romantic dinner celebration for Michaela when she gets home.

Lourdes: Small? Really?

Jared: Trust me, I want to throw her the biggest most amazing engagement party a girl could ask for, but I just don't think tonight is the right time. Maybe in a couple of weeks or so. Tonight I want it to be just us, celebrating our new beginning together and just looking forward for our future.

Lourdes: I get that, but I don't know if I want to wait so long.

Jared: I know but it's been two weeks since we last saw each other, I just want to spend time with her alone. How about this, tomorrow you can come over for dinner and we can celebrate the three of us and like this we can surprise her in a couple of week with an engagement party that she would have never seen coming.

Lourdes: Okay, I can compromise for that.

Jared paid for their drinks and the two of them drove home to Michaela's apartment where Jared and Lourdes went all out. Jared ordered Michaela's favorite food from the most expensive restaurant in town. Lourdes decorated the whole apartment, with white roses and red rose petals. Jared had the champain chilling in the fridge. He even went and privately decorated the bedroom. He was so happy and he wanted Michaela to know that her saying yes had make him the happiest guy in the universe. Just as they were almost finished Jared's phone rang.

Lourdes: I bet that's Michaela

Jared: Nope, its Grace.

Jared picks up the phone.

Jared: Grace, hi you back yet?

Grace: Some of us are yes, but not all of us are.

Jared: What do you mean Grace? What's going on? Where's Mick?

Grace: The flight we were booked on was overfull and they offered vouchers to anyone who would take the later flight

Jared: Okay and?

Grace: Ben, Cal and Michaela all got on the later flight.

Jared: Okay, so what time are they landing I can pick them up from the airport, no problem.

Grace: Thanks that is really kind of you Jared.

Jared: She said yes, you know.

Grace: What?

Jared: Michaela, said she will marry me.

Grace: Jared, that is…

Grace started crying and for the first time that conversation Jared realized that Grace was not acting herself.

Jared: Grace, Grace what's going on?

Grace: The plane, they were on. It's gone

Jared: What do you mean gone?

Grace: They cant find the plane Jared.

Jared: Who can't

This wasn't making any sense.

Grace: The airline. They said the plane just vanished from the sky

Jared: What do you mean vanished? Where did it go?

Grace: I don't know, all they said is that the plane was not coming home. The passengers are gone Jared. Ben, Cal and Michaela are gone, they are not coming home.

Jared dropped his phone and fell to the ground sobbing hysterically.
