Okay, I know that I'm a horrible horrible person for not updating. I can't even begin to believe that

it's been more than a month! I'm so so sorry to everyone who keeps up with this fic. You can all

throw rocks at me for not updating. Anyways, even though I'm not really into the writing now I'm

still going to try to get a couple chapters out by the end of this month. I can't promise anything

because I'm always promising things to you guys and then I just break them. I know, I'm a bad

bad person. Thanks to everyone who reviewed and to everyone who threatened if I didn't write

another chapter. I think it's you guys that really give me the push to write more because I feel

really bad. Lol Anyways, I'll try my best with updates so on with the story...

Wait just a minute, i cant forget my wonderful betas--Starry Serpent and CrazedAuthor14---thank

you!!

Draco walked back to his house with a slight smile on his face. If anyone had happened to see

him, they would have thought that he was a dolt walking around with a goofy grin on his face.

After he was inside his house and had locked the front door behind him, Draco heard a voice.

"Draco?" the voice came out even and smooth but Draco knew better than that. Lucius Malfoy

was never pleased when it came to his son.

"Yes, Father?" Draco carefully answered back.

"Where were you that you had to stay so long? It's late, Draco. It is not becoming of a Malfoy to

wander the streets at night as if homeless."

Draco started to feel the anger rise in him. He had not been gallivanting around the streets. His

father had just come back from his business trip and he was already giving the third degree.

Figures.

"I'm sorry, Father. I was only just walking across the street from my friend Harry's house. He's

new in town."

"Ah, yes, James' son. I was not aware that he had moved to this street."

"How do you know the Potters, Father?"

"I've worked with James before. We used to work in the same branch at the company but he was

transferred and now it seems he is back. It is good that you are befriending his son, Draco. You

have done well."

Draco, although confused and wanting answers, asked nothing.

"Thank you, Father."

"Now tell me, how are things with Pansy? I have been gone long and your mother has told me

nothing of what you have been doing."

"Pansy is fine I suppose..."

"Just fine? Maybe you don't take her out as often as you should. Women like to be treated like

royalty. She'll get away if you don't --"

"Maybe I don't take her out because she is not my girlfriend. I have told you many time before,

Pansy and I are barely just friends," Draco tensed. He should not have said that to his father. "Why must you always disappoint me, son? Why can you never do anything right? Do you not care at all about the name you carry? About our family? My father and his before him made many sacrifices and many hard decisions in order to keep the prestige of this family's name. Must you be the downfall of our name? What is wrong with you boy!? The Parkinson family is one like ours. It is only befitting that we should join together. Do you not understand, Draco? How many times must I go over this with you?" Lucius Malfoy was not one to suffer resistance, not even from his son. "What of the Potter family? Theirs is a family also like ours!" The elder Malfoy scoffed at this. "Idiot boy. While their family may be similar to ours in class they have no daughter to speak of. A strong friendship with the Potter boy is all you will get from that family. And that will be enough to secure a good bond between the Potter's and the Malfoy's now that James will be at the office once more." Now it was Draco's turn to scoff. If only his father knew exactly what he had with "the Potter boy." "How do you know that is all that I can have with him?" Big mistake. Without thinking Draco had let slip his relationship with Harry. Now all he could do was wait to see which way his father would take what he had said. He knew what his father thought of homosexuals. What he didn't know was how far his father would go to get it out of him. "What did you just say?" Lucius said with his jaw clenched and his brow knitted. "I..." "Lucius?" A woman's voice was heard calling from the stairs. "Narcissa? Oh, Narcissa I didn't know you were home. Shouldn't you be resting?" Lucius gently asked his wife. He may be a harsh man at many times but he loved his wife more than anything, even Draco. He was even more protective of her since she began having seizures. He had taken her to the very best doctors but she still had seizures about once a month. He had taken to thinking that she should stay in bed at all times and greatly disapproved of her going out with her friends even with her reassurances. "Oh, I'm fine. I thought I heard you and Draco. Were you two arguing again? Draco, have you just gotten home? It's late you know..." Narcissa said as she walked over to her husband and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "I'm sorry, mum. I was just over at Harry's." "Of course, of course. I've forgotten I had given you permission. Silly me. Come on then, to bed. Are you coming, Lucius?" She questioned knowing that he would stay downstairs to read and have a drink. "In a bit, I'm going to have a drink," Lucius smiled at her. Once they had gotten upstairs Narcissa followed her son to his room. "Sweetheart, you must be more careful around your father. God only knows what would have happened if he had found out about...about your feelings towards other boys. It was very fortunate that I had woken up or else you would have been in an awfully tight spot." "I know, mum. Thanks for it," Draco said and gave his mother a relieved hug. Even though his mother thought that her son should be able to like whomever he pleased, she still could not bring herself to say that her son was gay. This, Draco found, was extremely amusing. "feelings towards other boys" That was a good one. "And from now on try to at least tell where you are going to be so I don't have to lie to your father about already giving you permission, alright?" "Alright, Mum." "Goodnight, honey." "Night, Mum." Then Narcissa turned and left, closing the door gently behind her retreating back. Draco flopped onto his bed with a sigh and as it so happened to be, Harry was doing exactly the same.

Another chapter down, finally. Lol Now that you guys have thrown the rocks I better start on another chapter. Hope you liked this chapter even though there wasn't any slash at all. I thought I just had to show Draco's family because otherwise it would have looked like he lived by himself. I think in the next chapter you'll see another conversation with Ben and Harry and more on Harry and his other friends in town like Hermione and Dean and so on.
