"So... what do you want to do? There really isn't anything to do
here. Maybe I should have gone over your house after all," Harry said
lamely.
"Nah, I like it much better over here. Want to go outside, though?
It's too nice out to be inside all day," Draco offered.
"Okay then, c'mon."
On their way outside, they grabbed two cans of lemonade and then
stretched out on the grassy lawn.
"I can barely believe we only have a month of the summer holiday
left. Soon it's going to be time to buy new clothes and school
supplies," Draco sighed.
"Yeah, I know. Its going to be so weird going to a new school even
though I know some people here. I'll still be 'the new kid'."
"Don't worry about that, it won't be as bad as you think," Draco
laughed.
"I hope---" but before Harry could finish his sentence he heard his
mother call out to him.
"Honey? Would you mind watering the garden while I start up on
lunch? Draco, you're most welcome to stay if you like," Lily politely
said.
"Thank you, Mrs. Potter, I'd like that," Draco replied with a smile.
"But, Mum, we just had breakfast!" Harry reasoned.
"No, you just had breakfast. The rest of us have been up for quite a while, haven't we Draco?"
"Since 9 AM," Draco said as he gave Harry a smirk.
"Oh, fine, just gang up on me. You're supposed to be on my side,
Draco!"
"I'm on whoever's side that tells me embarrassing things about you.
So naturally, the lady has my loyalty."
"Mum!"
"Oh, go water the garden, sweetheart," Lily said to her son while
giving a soft laugh and smiled at Draco.
"I should have known I would be back in this garden before the
summer was over. Damnable thing!" Harry said to Draco as went into
the garden and tried to get water to come out of a hose.
"It isn't all that bad, at least you aren't weeding or---- AHHH!
HARRY!" Draco yelled.
Since Harry had been facing Draco while trying to get water out of
the hose, Draco had been drenched when suddenly the hose decided
to work. Harry found the entire incident so amusing that he nearly
doubled over with laughter.
"I {laugh} am so {laugh} so sorry! I didn't do that on purpose, I
swear! {laugh}"
Sometime during his laughing fit, Harry had dropped the hose and
hadn't even noticed when Draco had picked it up. When Harry
stopped laughing though, Draco stood at the ready with the hose in
hand and pointed in Harry's direction.
"Aw, come on. I said it was just an acci--- DRACO!" Now it was
Draco's turn to laugh.
"Now I see why you found it so funny! You should have seen the look on your face!"
The hose was once again forgotten and by now was making quite a
large puddle. And everyone knows the only good use one can put a
puddle to, is to splash in it. And that's exactly what ended up
happening. Harry had thrown himself at Draco, which had brought
them both to the ground right in the middle of the growing puddle.
For a few minutes they simply rolled over each other, laughing and
splashing the water at each other. Finally, when they were out of
breath and completely laughed out, they got up and turned off the
hose.
"Well, that was refreshing," Draco said with a satisfied look on his
face.
"I agree, now lets go get dried off," Harry replied and they went into
the house through the kitchen.
When Lily turned around and saw the two boys standing in her
kitchen dripping water all over the place, she simply put her hands on
her hips and watched as the two boys pointed a finger at the other.
She then shook her head and muttered something about getting
towels. When she came back she handed each boy a towel and told
Harry to lend Draco some clothing and to go get changed himself.
As Harry and Draco walked up the stairs, Lily called after them,
"Next time, try to get some water on the plants!"
"Here, try these on, I think they should fit," Harry said to draco as he
handed him a pair of trousers and a blue t-shirt.
"Thanks, where should I put my wet clothes?"
"Just hang them on that chair."
Harry then turned around to undress, being careful to wrap the towel
around his waist when he took off his boxers. When he went to pick
up the dry boxers he had taken out he found they weren't there. He
stood there for a moment looking at his desk, wondering what had
happened to his boxers, when he suddenly turned around. And sure
enough, there was Draco, already wearing Harry's clothes, and
standing just about a foot away from Harry with the boxers Harry had
taken out in his hand. Harry glanced over to the chair where Draco's
wet clothes were and on the very top of the pile were a pair of wet
green boxers.
Oh god, he's not wearing any underwear.
Before Harry could dwell too long on the fact that Draco was
hanging free, Draco moved a bit closer to Harry and put the dry
boxers in his hand.
He stared intently into Harry's eyes and said, "I promise not to look."
Harry thought back to when Draco had first said that to him and
smiled. He dropped the towel and just like the first time, Draco's eyes
did not move away from Harry's. Harry slipped the boxers on and
when he straightened back up, his nose was touching Draco's. Draco
quickly seized this opportunity to catch Harry's lips with his own.
Not once breaking away from Harry, he pushed the other boy toward
the end of the bed. Harry leaned back on his hands and Draco
immediately got on top of him. He placed one hand in the wild dark
locks and the other he set on the base on Harry's neck before he kissed
him again, this time sliding his tongue into Harry's mouth. He felt
Harry hesitate and pulled away.
"Please tell me you want this," Draco breathed out.
Harry hesitated again. It was hard to say anything when all he could
concentrate on was the hand that was massaging his neck and the hips
that were slightly grinding into his own; it was difficult enough to
not let out a moan he had been biting back.
"I... I..." Harry started only to hesitate once more but one look at
Draco's face made him change his mind. He saw in Draco's eyes that
Draco was nervous, hopeful, and scared. After seeing that he
confidently spoke, "I want this."
Draco sighed out of relief and smiled at Harry. His lips were very
close to touching Harry's when the door was opened. His lips were
already on Harry's when he heard a voice.
"Oh! Well... I..." Lily began to stammer as she took in the scene
before her. She then cleared her throat and said that lunch was ready
before hurrying out of her son's room.
"Oh my god..." Harry said as his head fell into his hands.
Draco moved off of the boy in front of him and sat on the bed
waiting. He wasn't sure what to do. Should he stay? Should he leave?
"Don't worry, Harry, your mother will understand. I don't think
she'll be upset that you have a boyfr— Well, that you like guys,"
Draco said, trying to give comfort. But was that what they were?
Were they boyfriends?
"Is that what we are? Boyfriends?" Harry asked. He too was unsure
of exactly what kind of relationship he had with Draco.
"Do you want to be?" Draco asked hopefully.
"Do you want to be?" Harry repeated back.
"Yes."
"So do I."
"Well, then we are," Draco said very much satisfied and watched as
Harry gave him a small smile, "Should I go? Or--?"
"Yeah, I need to talk with my mom before my dad gets home. It will
be easier telling them one at a time."
"Okay, call me later, alright?"
"I will."
"Bye," Draco said to his new boyfriend as he gave him a soft kiss.
"Bye," Harry called to Draco who was heading toward the window.
He thought it would be better if he went out this way instead of going
downstairs and possibly having a very awkward moment with Harry's
mum. Once Draco was gone, Harry went downstairs to have a talk
with his mother. He found her sitting at the kitchen table and when
she turned to look at him she had a very empathic look on her face.
Maybe this wont be so bad, after all.Harry thought before sitting
down to face his mother.
It was time that they had... The Talk...
