(Quick note: I will be traveling later today, to check up on my health, do some checkups, that sort of thing. It will take me a few days, maybe three. So, see you next week... if I don't post another chapter today, of course. Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to write some chapter while I'm there, but no promises. It's a small chapter, but that's because I'm packing up things around here, and I didn't want to leave the story without at least one chapter before I leave on my trip. Anyway, enjoy :D )

The breezy morning weather soothed her body. The sun rising timidly over the horizon made it the best time of the day for Lee.

His one eye looking out the second floor window at that palette of colors coloring the morning sky gave him a sense of tranquility, even though his chest had not stopped worrying in any of the days that had passed since he had woken up.

He always thought about Clementine, he couldn't stop himself, he cared about her. He knew she was in good hands, Carley was reliable, but not having her by his side was torturous.

But, he was glad that he had managed to get her out of that place, and slightly excited that he was still alive, it meant he could see her again.

However, Lee was not stupid, although he was hopeful and positive, he knew that the chances he had of finding the girl again were low, very low, almost zero.

But, it was still not impossible, and he would hold tightly to that small chance he had of finding her.

The dream he had still lingered in his mind, coming back into his thoughts occasionally. It was strange, he only saw a white room and the same faceless officer, he felt that there was some meaning to it, but no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't figure out what it was.

He sighed slowly, looking down at his arm. He could still feel his member there, and at that moment, he was moving his fingers.

It was a strange and, in positive thoughts, even funny feeling.

- You have to stop disappearing like that. Jesus, you look like Duck when he gets sick.

He looked aside with an amused smile, looking at Kenny who was approaching with a plate of food in hand. Behind the man, just down the hall, several "dead" walker bodies lay together, one on top of the other, like a small pile. In the last few days Kenny had worked hard, had blocked the doors with tables and cabinets, had burned a certain amount of the walkers he had killed. Now they could walk around the place with a little more freedom.

- I can't stay in that bed anymore. And the way Duck is, I'd be surprised if he didn't try to escape from his doses of medicine.

Lee said, looking out the window again, looking at the number of walkers walking aimlessly around the campus. Not as many as on the day of the invasion, but still a considerable number.

- Um, there were times that Katjaa and I seriously considered tying him to the bed, we had to pull him by the arm, that kid would not sit still. - He said, eating some of the food on his plate and smiling nostalgically, looking out the window next to Lee, watching the sunrise as he heard a soft chuckle coming from the man next to him.

- Good. I think you're going to have a little trouble pulling me by the arm. - Lee said, making a slight joke as he pointed what was left of his arm at Kenny.

They both had a loud laugh, and Kenny shook his head at the joke.

Lee looked at him, it was obvious the look of concern in Kenny's eyes, the look of guilt. He sighed slightly and leaned against the wall.

- He's fine. Carley will take good care of him, until we find them again. And there are those other people, they'll be fine.

He said after a few moments of silence, not needing to look at Kenny to notice the hesitation and anxiety in his body.

- I know, they are good people. And you said you taught Duck to defend himself. But still, no matter how much you say he'll be fine, I can't help but worry. Same with you and Clementine. - He answered, finishing eating and lowering his plate, holding it with one hand while leaning on the window with the other, looking at the horizon.

-... Yeah, I know.

Lee sighed, even after having taught Clementine to defend herself, even knowing she was a strong little girl, he couldn't help but worry.

But he was trying to convince himself that she would be okay, he knew she would be okay. She would see bad things, do bad things, he knew that, but she would be fine.

At least as well as anyone could get in that world.

-I'm sorry.

Kenny said after some time in silence. Lee looked at him, sympathetically.

- I said Kenny, I forgive you. I won't forget what you did, but I've forgiven you. You don't have to beat yourself up about something in the past.

Lee said softly, leaning away from the wall a little and straightening his posture, still looking at the horizon.

- Besides, I think you've redeemed yourself, you know, you saved my life. - Lee said again, smiling gently at Kenny. The man looked at him, and sighed after a while.

- I know... I'm very thankful for that... but no matter how much I apologize or how much you tell me it's okay, I don't think I'll ever feel good about myself after that...

he said, gloomily.

Kenny turned away from the window and turned, walking down the hall toward the stairs.

-Well... your breakfast is in the infirmary. - He said, before walking down the steps.

Lee analyzed the knife in his hand. It was not the best knife he had ever gotten, but it would do the job. It was sharp enough to easily pierce a zombie skull, and for Lee, it was good enough.

He then picked up the pistol at his waist. For the past few weeks he had been practicing how to reload the gun with only one hand.

And holy shit, it was harder than he had thought, but he was getting the hang of things.

Very slowly, but he was learning how to handle himself with only one arm.

Another thing that had changed was his balance. He was unbalancing easily, and his aim had become terrible. Not only the loss of an arm, but the loss of an eye as well.

The last few weeks had been a bit of torture for him, having to relearn to do everything he learned with only one arm was a bit complicated.

But in these last few days he had improved a lot. He even felt that his arm had become stronger.

Which was only logical, since he used only one arm for everything.

He had heard, at some point in his life, that the loss of one of his senses made the others sharper.

And in a way, he agreed. Although he was missing one eye, and had a large blind spot, his vision seemed to be better than before, his peripheral vision seemed to increase. Maybe he was just used to having only one eye, but whatever it was, it made up, at least a little, for the loss of one of his eyes.

- Okay, so, if they went this way, then they probably went out of state...-Kenny's voice brought him out of his thoughts, and Lee turned to the man, looking at the map that lay on the table.

- South Carolina. That's like looking for a needle in a haystack. But we don't have many options. Did Carley or Crista ever mention where they wanted to go?

he asked, squirming in his chair as he ate some of the canned food next to the map.

- They just said they weren't going to cities anymore. The countryside, maybe. Big cities are not an option.

- So, maybe, they didn't follow the main road. At least, not for a long time.

-Maybe. How much food do we have left?

- With only the three of us around? A lot of canned food. And Molly doesn't eat much. We could fill up that car pretty easily. If it weren't for those walkers, we would have even more.

Lee said, putting the can of beans aside.

-I was thinking...

Kenny started, moving away from the table and sitting down on the chair in front of him, crossing his arms.

- Remember when we gave a car to that group of old people? They mentioned that they were going to Wellington. The place is fucking far away, but if the rumors got this far, maybe it could be true. What if they heard about it too?

Kenny asked, looking at a fixed point on the table.

- They might have heard. And, in fact, the chances of them deciding to go there are... high, they don't have anywhere else to go. Not that I know of.

Lee answered, standing up and picking up the can of beans, throwing them in the trash.

- Soooo... Wellington?

Kenny asked, turning in his chair and looking at him.

- Wellington. Although it's doubtful, it's something.

Lee answered, picking up a red pen from the table beside him and walking towards the map.

- As you said yourself, it's going to be a long fucking trip. We have a lot to worry about.

Kenny stood up and leaned on the table again, where they had spent hours discussing where they were going until they reached their goal.

-It's going to be quite a trip. - Kenny said, putting his hands on his waist and looking at the map.

-Hey. What happened to that RV? - Lee asked, looking at Kenny curiously.

- That old thing is gone. We were shot as soon as we entered the city. That's how Omid was wounded. - He replied, turning and leaving the infirmary.

Lee stared at the map for a few more minutes, hoping that he would be able to find Clementine again.
