Notes: The only major difference (besides things that will be explained) is the romances. If you are a massive caleo or solanglo fan, this is not the story for you. The first chapter won't have a whole lot of your favorite characters, but be patient, Percy and all the good peoples are coming ;) Also, please note that this is a very long story, but I promise it will be worth it, even if the first chapter or so is a little boring.

Spoilers: Trials of Apollo, Heroes of Olympus, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Timeline: After the Blood of Olympus

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the PJO fandom, that's all Rick's work, don't sue me please, blah blah. The characters Cat and Quentin (and any other random people you don't know from the books) are of my own creation, but Jane & Alex were created by friends of mine. I also don't own any images used (including the cover) so credit to whoever those belong to!

Catalia's POV:

I was running through the forest, bow in hand, when I saw a flicker of movement by the river. I slowed to a halt, wondering who else would be this far out in the woods during the afternoon. Reaching hesitantly for an arrow, I flitted between the trees, just in case it wasn't a camper. As I rounded a large tree trunk, I crashed into something, or someone. I jumped back with a slight shriek, my hand reaching for a dagger when I realized it wasn't a threat, just a camper. With a sigh of relief, I dropped my hands to a non-threatening stance.

"Um, hi." I said awkwardly, sliding my dagger back into the sheath. I brushed my blond waves out of my face, wondering for the millionth time how I had ended up with natural multi-colored highlights in my hair. Very few people knew that they were natural, and when I told Chiron as we were trying to figure out who my godly parent was, he looked like he had seen a ghost. So, I had guessed that my hair was hint to my parentage, but the only god connected with colors I could find was Iris, and she was definitely not my godly parent.

The girl I had crashed into stepped back and rubbed her head. I didn't recognize her, which confused me, since I knew everyone here. Yet she definitely knew her way around, so she couldn't be new. "Uh, hi. Sorry, I didn't see you there." She said, fidgeting nervously with her brown hair. I gave her a quick glance over, wondering who she was and what she was doing in the forest. She was about average height, with shoulder length brown hair, a few dark freckles, and a bow and quiver were slung over her shoulder.

I shrugged, meeting her eyes. "Nah, it's fine. I didn't see you either. So…uh, whatcha doing running through the forest?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.

"I could ask you the same question." She responded, a slight smirk in her voice.

I opened my mouth to answer, smiling at her smart aleck remark. Before I could say anything, I heard a low growl behind me. I whipped around, nocking an arrow to my bow as I turned. The other girl turned and did the same, just slower than me. Just as I was convinced I was overreacting, a hellhound leaped out of the forest, and I shot the instant I saw the creature. My arrow hit its mark, turning the snarling monster to dust, but not before one of the creature's huge paws caught my arm. I winced. "Ow."

The other girl smiled at me. "You like archery too?"

"Yep. You an Apollo kid?" I said, eying the pile of dust that had been a hellhound, concerned. Monsters shouldn't be this close to camp.

She shook her head, looking disappointed. "Nah, Poseidon."

"Well, at least you know." I said dejectedly, getting over my initial shock at her parentage.

She nodded sympathetically. "Yeah…I thought I'd be Apollo, but here we are."

I sighed, still trying to figure out who she was. "I wish I knew who my parents were, but here I am, in the Hermès cabin for the tenth year. Still unknown parentage…after ten years!"

"Woah…that's a long time." She said. The dinner bell rang in the distance, and she started. "We should probably get going. But we should hang out sometime. Maybe shoot some arrows." She said, smiling shyly.

I nodded, distracted, as she started jogging off. I shrugged and took off running at lightning speed. "See you around." I called over my shoulder, deciding to ask her my millions of questions later. I jogged into the dining pavilion a little while later, and plopped down at the Hermes table. My cabinmates cheered and laughed as I joined them. After being here for ten years, I was definitely the popular one in my cabin. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a girl slip out of the shadows and sit down at the Hades table, hoodie and earbuds in. I squinted as I recalled her name. Alex, Nico's new half-sister. I turned back to one of cabinmates, Lea, as she told a joke that sent the whole table rolling. "Be right back." I said to her, and she nodded, distracted. I walked over to the Poseidon table. "Hey Perc," I said, sitting down, which was technically against the rules, but everyone was used to me by now. The girl I had met in the woods was sitting next to him, and she glanced over.

"Oh, hey. I never got your name, earlier."

I looked at her, distracted. "Oh, yeah, never got yours either."

"Jane." She said, reaching her hand out.

"Cat." I said, shaking it. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you-" She started, but I had already turned to Percy.

"Perc. Guess what happened earlier?" I said with a grin. He didn't answer and I sighed. "Percy!"

He laughed and turned to me. "Huh? Oh hi, Cat."

I mentally face palmed. "Percy! Stop staring at Annabeth and pay attention. A hellhound attacked me earlier. Oh, and Jane."

His eyes widened. "Wait what?!"

Jane nodded. "Yup."

"Finally." I sighed, grabbing his blue lemonade and drinking some.

"Oh gods." He said, then snatched his drink back. "What were they doing that close to camp?"

I shrugged. "Dunno. Anyways, do you remember what tomorrow is?" I said, stealing his drink again.

He looked at me blankly. "Umm... maybe?"

I groaned. "It's my birthday, you fish brained dummy."

I noticed Jane looking between us, confused, and probably feeling a little ignored, as Percy tried to save himself. "I knew that! I was just messing with you."

I laughed. "Sure, bro. Ooh, also, I need to write mum soon." Jane looked super confused now. "Oh, sorry Jane, I should explain. Percy is my brother. Well not biologically, but his mum is basically my mum. I have no parents, but she raised me after she found me in the streets when I was..." I hesitated, then decided not to tell my whole life story to someone I had just met, Percy's half-sister or not. "Little. So Percy is my adopted brother and Sally and Paul are the only parents I've ever known."

Jane nodded. "Uh-huh. Oh wait...are we related then? Kind of? How does that even work?"

My head hurt just thinking about it. "Um. Just don't stress relations on the godly side."

Percy laughed. "Yeah...it's confusing." I smiled at him while he told me about his day. Jane slipped away a minute or two later, and I looked at her as she ran off into the forest.

"Uh, what's up with her? Also is she new? I don't recognize her, but she knows her way around."

"Oh, yeah, she just does that sometimes. And yeah, she is new, she got here during the spring, and I met her a week ago since I got to camp earlier than you this summer."

"Huh. Shouldn't you pay more attention to your cabin mates?"

He shrugged. "She just said she needs space sometimes. Pretty fierce about it too."

"Okay then. Hey, Percy?" I said, with a serious tone in my voice. He met my eyes, his sincere sea-green eyes seeming to smile all on their own. "So... I turn 16 tomorrow, and I just have this feeling that something bad is going to happen. I mean, your 16th birthday was a huge deal, so what if mine is too?"

He thought about that for a second, then nodded slowly. "I mean, it's possible. Just be prepared, okay? And trust your gut."

I nodded and stood up. "Yeah. I'll do that. Also, do me a favor. Tell Chiron about that hellhound. It shouldn't have been that close to camp.

Percy nodded and patted the top of my head as I stood. "Sure, sis. Especially since it was two of my sisters. See you later. And I hope you're wrong about that feeling."

I nodded, jealously blooming inside of me as he called Jane his sister. "Cya." I walked off towards the Hermes table, dreading my birthday for the first time in my life.

A/N: So, what'd y'all think? This is my first fan fiction, so I hope you liked it! I know it isn't the best writing, and I'm working on it, so I will probably edit this chapter a couple times to improve it. There isn't a whole lot of action in this first chapter, but don't worry, it'll get exciting. I already told everybody this is a very, very, long tale, so stick it out to the end and I promise it'll be worth it! Please review and let me know what you think, and any suggestions, questions, or something I should fix! I'll update as soon as possible! Okay, this is now the end of a ridiculously long and full of promises A/N. Have a great day and review!
