A/N: Hey y'all, I'm back to resolve that terrible cliffhanger I left you with last chapter! My apologies this took a while to post, I haven't been feeling well this past few days (I know I have such convenient timing, haha.) Make sure you leave a review, it makes me want to post sooner ;) Well, I'm sure you want to get right to the story, so I'll shush now. Happy reading!

Leo's POV:

It's amazing how much can change in a minute. One minute ago my arms were wrapped around her as we stared peacefully at the sunset. Then out of nowhere, she screamed in pain and curled into a ball, shaking. I jumped, terrified, and turned to her.

"Cat!" I shouted, shaking her. "What's wrong?! What happened?!" Before I could do anything, Percy was there, shoving me aside. Annabeth was at his heels, and I saw other campers running our way. His eyes darted around, checking for immediate threats or wounds. When he saw none, he turned and glared at me.

"Valdez." He growled, his voice low and dangerous. I immediately backed up with my hands in the air. Man, Percy could be downright terrifying when he wanted to be. But before he could scare me more, Cat screamed again, and her eyes shot wide open, searching frantically until they found Percy's.

"Percy-it hurts…" She gasped, grabbing her head. "Why does it hurt?!" Her bright eyes were shining with unshed tears, and she groaned, clutching her head so hard her knuckles were white.

Percy looked completely helpless and scared. "I don't know…just breathe, it'll be fine…just breathe." He murmured, then turned to me with a death glare. I understand him so clearly he seemed to have spoken in my mind.

"I'll get Chiron." I gasped, then took off running towards the big house. As I ran, I noticed Will Solace dropping to his knees beside Cat, trying to do what he could to help her. I ran through the whole camp, past the climbing wall, the archery range, the stables, and the cabins until I finally skidded to halt in front of the house. Gasping for breath, I shouted through the front doorway. "Chiron! Chiron! Hurry up!" He must have heard the urgency in my tone, and soon I heard the clopping of horse hoofs. Then he was there, in all his horsey majesty, giving me the 'what did Leo do now' look. Still panting, I gasped out. "It's – Cat – She – Help!" A worried look came over his face, which scared the jeepers out of me. Chiron never looked that worried, especially before he even knew what was happening. He murmured something to himself, then grabbed me and hauled me onto his back. "Woah there, buddy." I said, but apparently he wasn't in the joking mode, at all.

"We must hurry. I feared this day would come." His grave tone scared any more jokes out of me as we shot toward the beach.

Percy's POV:

I've felt helpless before. Letting Annabeth go into the tunnels to face the mark of Athena alone, watching Frank burn his lifeline, staying on the ground as Jason shot into the air to stop Gaea, falling into Tartarus, and so many other times. But I had never felt more helpless in my entire life then I did now, watching my little sister shaking in pain, and I couldn't do anything. I punched the dock, trying to think of anything, anything I could do for her. Annabeth rubbed my shoulder, trying to calm me, but I could tell she was worried too. Will knelt beside Cat, trying to help in any way he could, which was apparently no way. Cat was squeezing my other hand, and I kept whispering to her, not knowing what else to do. Will finally did something right, and with a slight flash of golden light, Cat sighed and passed out. Will sat back, looking exhausted.

"That should help her some." He said, sounding weak. I nodded, too worried to speak. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jane standing off to the side, next to Nico and some goth girl. Nico's eyes met mine for a split second, and then he looked away. He knows something, I thought, standing to confront him, but the sound of horse hoofs distracted me. I turned to see Leo dumped rather unceremoniously off Chiron's back, who stopped in front of Cat, a concerned look on his face.

"Finally!" I snapped at Chiron, although I wasn't really angry, just scared. "Help her. Help her now."

Chiron shook his head. "There is nothing to be done. She must simply wait it out."

"Wait what out!?" I shouted, and I felt the ocean waters behind me began to swirl, responding to my anger and fear. Annabeth tightened her grip on my shoulder, and all the other campers around us suddenly became very interested in other things and slowly backed away.

Chiron sighed. "I understand you're worried, Percy, but you must trust me."

"NO! Tell me what's wrong with my sister!" The waters swirled faster, and I tried to take a deep breath, knowing I wasn't helping anything.

Chiron sighed. "Not here, Percy, not here. Come with me."

I shook my head. "I'm staying with my sister."

"This is important, Perseus. She will be fine." He said, but I saw a sliver of doubt in his eyes. I clenched my fists, but stood to follow him. "Jane, Leo, Alex, Nico, and Annabeth. You as well." Chiron said, looking at each of them in turn, then started trotting towards the big house. Alex, the goth girl Jane had been standing with, looked surprised and bored, but she shrugged and turned to follow Chiron. Jane trailed after them, looking surprised and worried. Leo and Annabeth both sighed and stood, just as tired as I am of prophecies and quests. Nico, however, looked nowhere near surprised, like he had known for ages this was coming. I glanced at my sister one more time, then started to follow Chiron. I had barely gotten four steps away when Will shouted, and I flipped around, as did everyone else. A glowing light began to shine over my sister's head, first faintly, then brighter and brighter. Slowly a multi-faceted jewel formed over her head, shining with a thousand colors. Chiron's mouth dropped open. "How can this be?" He murmured to himself, and I glared at him.

"How can what be?!" The rest of the campers stared at the symbol in shock, confusion visible on every one of their faces.

Chiron shook his head, still staring in wonder at the symbol floating over her head. "It was only a myth…an impossible and faint one at that…" Nico bit his lip and glanced away, and I lost it.

"That's it! Spill, death boy. What are you hiding?" I snapped, glaring at him.

He jumped, then shook his head. "Nothing." He said, but I knew he was lying. Taking a deep breath, I walked over to him and put my hands on his shoulders.

"Nico, my little sister is lying on the ground and I don't even know why or how to help. Please, if you know something, please tell me… please." My voice cracked and I looked down, terrified Cat was going to die. He opened and closed his mouth, but couldn't seem to find the words. I hesitated, debating whether or not to push him, when a collective gasp rose from the group. I turned, and saw Cat's eyes flicker open.

"Cat? Thank the gods…are you alright?" I said hurriedly, dashing to her side.

She blinked a couple times, then looked up and saw the symbol over her head. "What- did I just get claimed?"

I nodded. "I think so…but that was the weirdest claiming I've ever seen."

"By who? And why did it hurt? And who the hades claimed me?!" She said, her voice rising with anger and fear. I couldn't even begin to imagine how frustrating this must be. She'd waited ten years for this, and now that it finally happened, it raised more questions than it answered. I shrugged, wishing I could be more helpful.

Her gaze turned to Chiron, angry and searching for answers. Chiron sighed. "I wish I could explain more, but I know only myths, and barely that. When we can be alone," He said pointedly, glancing at the other campers, "I can explain what little I know."

Nico finally spoke up. "I can explain some as well." He said, meeting my eyes at last. "But Cat should explain most of it herself."

I stared at him, then turned to Cat, who looked just as confused, then back at Nico. "What? She doesn't know any more than the rest of us do!"

He shook his head, and met her eyes. "Just wait."

I looked back at my sister, seeing the confused look in her eyes. As I looked, it was as if a fog cleared from her eyes and they seemed to shine brighter. She gasped and winced again, her face flashing through several different emotions, all of them gone so quickly I couldn't distinguish them. A tear slipped down her cheek, and she met Nico's eyes, who simply nodded. I couldn't take it anymore.

"What the hades is happening?!" My question was echoed by many in the crowd, and I stepped closer to Cat, a pleading look on my face. "Cat. What. Is. Happening?"

She turned to me, meeting my eyes with a serious look on her face. "I remember."
