"Hey." King Boo stated to Birdo as the two watched Toadette and Petey Piranha zip around the highway in the Mushroom City from their shared hotel room as they noticed that the two racers were in their own karts. "You think Nintendo will ever bring us back alongside this course?"

"They might bring me back, KB, but you're probably in the back burner along with Petey when it comes to playability in Mario Kart." Birdo stated as she shrugged, shaking her head. "It just seems like people don't care about Boos as much as they used too."

"Damn shame." King Boo sighed as he poured himself some apple juice, then drank it all in one gulp as he sighed. "They think that people like babies and pallet swaps over me... well, they're wrong!" He pouted as he looked away, turning to Birdo a few moments later. "...Right?"

Birdo sighed as she approached King Boo, patting him on the back as a way to make him feel better, with it beginning to rain lightly in the congested Mushroom City, making it feel a bit more like Neo Bowser City.

"You think we'll ever manage to get you, King Boo, and Birdo back into the official game?" Toadette asked Petey, who mumbled in response as they didn't let the rain affect them.

Dry Bowser was placing some motor cans into his Undead Motor shop in the city as he watched several racers zip by, with them having a Double Dash tournament as the bony reptile placed his skeletal hands on his hips.

"All these new racers are just popping up left and right... are some of these just different colored drones?" Dry Bowser muttered to himself as he shrugged. "Eh, possibly. But why should I care? Nothing beats having more customers."

Brushing back his red hair, Dry Bowser zapped some of the dying lights surrounding his shop as he managed to make them spark again, waiting for some of the racers to drop by to get some much needed oil for their vehicles.

"Hey... did you ever notice how vehicles just go in one direction without ever stopping?" A red shelled Lakitu asked a Lakitu with a green shell as the two turtles in clouds overlooked the highway, seeing Petey Piranha and Birdo drive through on the Boo Pipes.

"Like how in spite of being part of the race track, they just go into the shadows?" The green Lakitu pointed out as he shrugged. "Yeah... it just messes with my mind. I tend not to think about it."

The red Lakitu blinked in shock as they kept on keeping focus on traffic, since they didn't know what things could occur that night.
