And, I'm back. Seemingly with a somewhat decent update schedule. At least, I hope to be able to claim such a thing. Here's hoping I can get one chapter out like, every two weeks. Who knows, anything is possible. Anyway, The usual disclaimer applies. I do not own Pokemon. Or Crystal Evans, which I should probably clarify. Here we go.

Thomas walked over to the other end of the battling field, and faced Marcus. "Skarmory, help me out!" The large Steel-and-Flying-type appeared in the air, flying about.

"Dragonite, let's go!" Marcus called. He tossed out a Pokeball and the Kanto pseudo legendary appeared and took flight.

"Skarmory, Agility!" Thomas called. Skarmory flapped its wings and flew about.

"Dragonite, Thunder Punch!" Marcus called. The Dragon-type was quick, his fist covering itself in lightning before striking Skarmory, who started falling to the ground.

"Straighten out!" Thomas called. Skarmory did so, and flew up higher than Dragonite. "Agility!" Again, Skarmory flew about, but faster than before.

"Flamethrower." Marcus said. Dragonite opened its mouth and fire spilled from it, straight towards Skarmory.

"Agility once more, then use Steel Wing!" Thomas said. Skarmory easily dodged the Flamethrower due to the final speed boost from Agility, and moved like a blur over to Dragonite, wings glowing white, striking it on the stomach.

"Dragonite, after it." Marcus called as Skarmory flew away. While it was never able to catch up with Skarmory, it didn't need to. It always found a shortcut to get right next to Skarmory.

"Turn and use Night Slash!" Thomas called.

"His Skarmory knows Night Slash?!" Damien asked. It was a dark type move that was reasonably powerful, and had a high chance of critical hits.

"It's an egg move." Pamira said. "Skarmory can get that move from breeding. Likely from a Honchkrow, if I had to guess." Skarmory's wings glowed with black light, striking Dragonite, who cried out in pain. A critical hit.

"I think Thomas might be able to do this." Karek said. "If he can keep away from Dragonite's attacks and get more critical hits like that, he could do it."

"I doubt it." Pamira said. "Dragonite doesn't go down so easy. That thing's tough. Thomas will struggle to even deal visible damage." Sure enough, Dragonite looked fine.

"Dragonite, use Outrage!" Marcus called. Dragonite flew over to Skarmory, a pissed off expression on its face. Then he started attacking wildly. Fists swung, legs kicked, teeth bit, and the tail was swung time and time again. It went on for some time, Skarmory moving away and Dragonite always getting closer, landing a few glancing blows before Skarmory flew away again. Damien wasn't sure who'd edge out.

"Skarmory, Night Slash!" Thomas called. The steel bird turned around quickly and struck, but Dragonite got an opportunity. A fist slammed onto Skarmory's head, and it fell to the earth, Dragonite following close behind, slamming his fists and feet onto it. With one final punch, Dragonite sent Skarmory flying over to Thomas, and the swirls in Skarmory's eyes showed the outcome. Skarmory had fainted. Thomas returned his Pokemon to his Pokeball, and went to sit down with us.

"I'll go." Sebastian said, standing up.

"Who will you be using?" Marcus asked, returning Dragonite.

"Chesnaught, I choose you!" Sebastian said, throwing the ball with energy. The fully evolved Kalos starter appeared, ready to fight.

"Electivire, let's go!" Marcus called, sending out the Electric-type.

"This should be interesting." Pamira said. "From what I've seen, Chesnaught is very strong. Possibly the same strength as Electivire. This one's truly a toss-up."

"Sebs is that strong?" Karek asked.

"You can see rankings on the school website." Pamira said. "It started out as something a student was doing, and eventually the school made it official. While Marcus is the stronger trainer, no doubt, this is a one-on-one match-up."

"Right, Sebastian only has two Pokemon, a Pangoro and a Chesnaught." Katie remembered. "That must be why he's ranked lower, even though his Pokemon are just as good."

"Electivire, Fire Punch!" Marcus called. Electivire charged towards Chesnaught.

"Hold!" Sebastian said. Electivire drew close, but Chesnaught held firm. "Now!" Chesnaught brought his arms together as Electivire swung his fist, spikes growing and expanding to block the blow, pricking Electivire and causing him to draw his hand back.

"Hammer Arm!" Sebastian shouted. Chesnaught slammed his arm into Electivire's stomach.

"Thunder!" Marcus called.

"Get out of there!" Sebastian yelled. But Electivire had gotten a firm grasp of Chesnaught, and a massive burst of electricity surged into Chesnaught. "Fight through it and use Wood Hammer!" Chesnaught dislodged an arm and raised it into the air, a translucent wooden hammer forming on his hand. He then slammed it onto Electivire, slamming his face into the ground and stopping the electricity. "Pick him up and throw!"

"Ches," Chesnauht said, picking up Electivire's wires, "NAUGHT!" He spun and threw Electivire into the air.

"Electivire, Giga Impact!" Marcus ordered. Electivire landed on his feet, and charged towards Chesnaught again, blue surrounding and trailing behind him with a large five-pointed yellow-white spiral in the front.

"Chesnaught, dodge that!" Sebastian called. Chesnaught jumped over the move, landing behind Electivire. "Hammer Arm!"

"Electivire, fall!" Marcus said. Chesnaught swung his fist, but missed as Electivire fell face-down into the dirt "Low Kick!" His legs kicked into Chesnaught's, causing the Grass-and-Fighting-type to trip onto the floor. "Fire Punch!"

"Thunder Punch!" Sebastian said. Both Pokemon got up and threw their respective elemental punches. Their fists collided, causing a small explosion, sending them away from each other.

"Electivire, Fire Punch again!" Marcus called. Electricity arced between the two wires on Electivire's back, flaring up and out before disappearing.

"What was that?" Damien asked as Electivire ran up to Chesnaught, fist aflame once more.

"I think that was Motor Drive." Pamira said. "That's his Electivire's ability. It raises its speed each time it's hit with an Electric-type move."

"And Chesnaught just used Thunder Punch. Combined with it's already low base speed, and the multiple uses of Hammer Arm, I'm surprised the two are still so closely matched in terms of speed." Katie said. "Sebastian must've trained Chesnaught to be fast."

"Chesnaught, Spiky Shield!" Sebastian yelled. Chesnaught slammed his fists together, stopping the Fire-type move and causing damage to Electivire.

"Electivire, use Low Kick!" Marcus called, and Electivire swept Chesnaught's legs out from under him again. But this time, Sebastian was ready for it.

"Wood Hammer!" Sebastian called. The green hammer appeared again on Chesnaught's hand, but this time he slammed it into the ground, sending dust and debris everywhere. Chesnaught jumped out of the dust cloud, and Electivire did the same on the opposite end.

"Thunder!" Marcus ordered. Electivire sparked electricity between his tails before sending a bolt of lightning to Chesnaught, clearing the smoke cloud. It hit Chesnaught, but not for much damage.

"Hammer Arm!" Sebastian yelled.

"Fire Punch!" Marcus commanded. The two Pokemon barreled towards each other, both attacks landing on the face of the other.

"Keep going!" Both trainers said. The two Pokemon continued to exchange attacks, flaming fists connecting with a spiked coat and powerful thrusts meeting yellow fur. Both Pokemon stood their ground until a final blow sent both of them flying. Both crashed to the ground, heavily wounded.

"Electivire, can you keep going?" Marcus asked. Electivire put its arms to the ground and slowly started pushing itself upright.

"Chesnaught, you can do this!" Sebastian called. Chesnaught slammed a fist into the ground, getting up onto a knee. Both of them stood up at the same time, panting heavily, but Chesnaught was glowing green. Overgrowth. "Chesnaught, it's time to finish this! Wood Hammer!"

"Electivire, Giga Impact." Marcus said. The two Pokemon charged forward once more, expressions fierce. The two moves collided and exploded with so much power that Damien could feel it from the stands. They all shielded themselves from the blast. They all looked back at the dust cloud expectantly. When the dust finally cleared, both Electivire and Chesnaught had fainted.

At first, none of them moved. Then, Sebastian recalled Chesnaught to his Pokeball. "Great job buddy." Sebastian whispered. "You're getting a long rest. You deserve it."

Marcus stood there for a moment, astonished. Then he started laughing. "That was spectacular!" He returned Electivire to his Pokeball. "You did great, man. Get some sleep." Marcus walked over to Sebastian and grasped his hand. "I knew you were powerful, but that was something else!"

"It helped that I had type resistances to half of your moves." Sebastian said, removing his hand from Marcus's and rubbing the back of his neck. "And that Overgrowth kicked in."

"You won due to your own skill." Marcus said.

"I didn't win, we tied." Sebastian corrected.

"Still better than anyone else so far." Marcus said. "Not to disrespect them of course!" he said to Damien and everyone else in the stands. "I don't get why you aren't ranked higher. That's some serious power you have there."

"It's because I only have two Pokemon." Sebastian grumbled. Then he grinned. "But you're right. I did do well."

"I would battle the remaining three, but I think I have to head to the Pokemon Center. I have to switch around some teammates and heal up everyone. I'll see you guys tomorrow." Marcus said, walking through the doors into the school.

"SEBS!" Karek yelled, everyone following him down the steps. "THAT WAS FUCKING AMAZING!"

"Language." Damien said automatically.

"You actually tied with Marcus…" Jack trailed.

"It's hard to believe." Sebastian said.

"That was the kind of battle you'd get in a league competition." Pamira said. "Once school's over, you should definitely challenge one."

"No thanks, I'll stick to shiny hunting." Sebastian said, but Damien definitely heard some pride in his voice.

"Dude, I think we should've been learning from you this whole time." Karek said.

"Yeah, I agree." Damien said. "That was something else."

"We should probably go to the Pokemon Center ourselves, you know." Thomas told them. "You know, since many of us have a fainted Pokemon on us?"

"Well, since Felix and I don't, we'll just head home." Pamira said. Damine had forgotten that Felix was there. He hadn't said anything the whole time. "See you all tomorrow!" The two of them walked out of the fence gates to the front of the school.

"Well, let's all go then." Sebastian said, walking through the doors. Damien and everyone else followed him inside.

"Here you all go!" Nurse Joy said, handing them back their Pokemon. "Everyone's nice and healthy!" Blaziken jumped off the cart next to Karek, Damien picked up Bagon, and Katie picked up her Torracat's Pokeball. Chesnaught was a different story however. He was covered in various bandages and while there wasn't anything that wouldn't heal in a few days, Nurse Joy had still said to keep Chesnaught from any strenuous activity so that he could heal properly.

"Chesnaught!" Chesnaught said happily.

"Sorry buddy." Sebastian said. "You'll have to skip out on training until Nurse Joy gives the okay." Chesnaught carefully stepped off the cart and onto the ground, standing next to his trainer. They all then walked out of the Pokemon Center.

"Anyway, time to go!" Karek said, running over to his car. "See you all tomorrow!"

"See ya!" Damien said. "Anyway, I'd better get going too. It's a ten minute walk to my house, and I'd rather be there as soon as possible." He started walking down through the parking lot and down the street. Some crosswalks and a few turns later, and he was home. He opened the door and went inside.

So it seems that Sebastian is a powerful trainer. And you are all aware of the school's ranking system. I won't put the trainer's rank down here, but it will be mentioned a couple times in the story.
