Chapter 9

Disclaimer: I don't own it wish I did and what you don't know of I own and well frankly it isn't quite as good as the real stuff.

Author's Note: Thanks to all of you who actually read these because that means a whole bunch to me. I'd like to thank you guys for sticking with the story even though I have been a little light on chapters lately.

Shoutout Time: Annabella Prinx for adding First Days to their favorite stories list, and a super special round of applause for jddmn13 for the very nice comment and for adding First Days to their Story Alert Subscription.

I've been kind of in a slump not only with writing, but with life in general lately, so please be kind and some feedback would be wonderful.

** Recap**

Lily's POV

Soon the entire Great Hall had erupted with applause and Aunt Minnie — Professor McGonagall — settled the students and Uncle Neville began to call names.

"Avery, Jackson"

Slytherin

"Avi, Brendon"

Hufflepuff

Finally, I heard him call…

"Potter, Lily"

Another Potter, you would do well in Gryffindor, but you don't want to be just another Potter, DO YOU? Well it better be… Slytherin!

Instead of the eruption of applause there was silence, the clam before the storm.

**End of Recap**

Scorpius' s POV

Slytherin! She made Slytherin. Maybe there is hope.

Universal POV (aka Third Person POV)

Lily seemed resolute about hearing her placement in to Slytherin, she neither broke down nor seemed disappointed or excited. She quietly got up and walked to the table without taking a single glance toward her brothers or the rest of the family she was leaving behind. Upon her arrival at the Slytherin table without a word she took the empty seat next to Scorpius.

"Welcome to the Snake Pit, Potter—"

"—I hear she's a bloody amazing seeker—"

"WE GOT POTTER!"

Eruptions of voices surrounded her saying all sorts of thing she couldn't comprehend them all. It was overwhelming and any evidence of the sorting continuing was unapparent throughout the great hall.

Lily's POV

What have I done? I never wanted to be just another Potter, but was this really what I needed. What if I don't fit in…Dad used to tell us nasty stories about the Slytherin's I don't want to be someone like that.

I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder, still in shock from the sorting I did even bother to look, I knew it was Scorpius.

"Lily…Lily…," he lightly whispers in my ear.

I turn to face him now, my face still lying emotionless. He wraps me into a hug whispering sweet nothings in my ear about how it is going to be all right, and somehow I believe him.

"Ready to meet some of your housemates? I'm so glad you eded up here with me."

Digging into the feast that had appeared in front of us I began to realize how different this really would be. I had always imagined the warmth of Gryffindor Tower, playing chess with Hugo and pulling pranks with James.

"…Lily! Lily! LILY!" I heard Scorpius yelling as so I turned to him, "Finally, I thought you had gone deaf of something."

"Merlin, Scorpius, give me a bloody moment to think!" Immediately I regretted the words that had left my mouth, he had been nothing but nice to me and I snap at him for the littlest thing.

Scorpius's POV

She looks so delicate like a flower, I wonder what she could have been thinking about staring off like that. How could something so delicate snap like that? Merlin help me, I'm starting to think I'm falling for Lily Potter. No, never, she is like a little sister, so innocent, I'm confused that's all.

I look over to spot a tear in her eye. Watching it fall, I lean over to brush it off her face. "Princess, it's going to be okay. I'm not mad. Let me help you. Just because you didn't make Gryffindor doesn't make it the end of the world. There are plenty of good people here, I promise."

She says nothing, but places her head on my shoulder, and I fully realize that I have fallen for her.

Lara's POV

Watching Scorpius with Little Potter I couldn't help but think how much it is going to hurt when his heart gets broken. He's not a bad bloke, but the Potter Princess could never be seen with a Malfoy. Merlin, the blithering idiot isn't going to heed my advice. The war may be over but scores may never be settled.

Sitting nestled into Scorpius's side was none other than the Little Potter, putting on a brave face biding time until she could run back to the Potter Posse. If she hadn't been a Potter one might have thought she was muggleborn with how small and frail she was, timidly taking in the sight of the Great Hall.

Bollocks, I see why Scorpius is drawn to her. Its hard to resist caring for the Potter Princess. I wish I could say the same about my first day.

The sorting hat finished it's song as Professor Longbottom started calling the names of my classmates. But already I could hear the whispers:

"She's Death Eater scum."

"Dark the whole lot of them… bound to be a Slytherin"

"Goyle, Lara"

"Not Slytherin, aye, but Slytherin is your destiny. You're a Goyle it's where you're meant to be. It better be… SLYTHERIN"

With one word my heart stopped and teas began to roll down my face. No one tried to comfort me as I shuffled to the Slytherin table to join Dante.

No, I wouldn't let the Potter Princess suffer the way I did.

Author's Note: As some of you know I left Fanfiction unexpectedly a few years ago for some family issues. I am sorry if this chapter isn't as good as some of my others because I had wrote the first part of it before I left and finished it off just recently. I hope to be back more, but things have gotten more complicated in recent months and I don't know how much free time I will have to write. Thank you all for sticking with the story, it means a lot to me.
