Chapter 10

Disclaimer: I don't own it wish I did and what you don't know of I own and well frankly it isn't quite as good as the real stuff.

Author's Note: Well I guess I don't have a great excuse for my absence and I don't really remember where I was going with this story but I'm trying to piece together my notes and I hope you'll bear with me and this story. On the other hand I have a folder of One-Shots I wrote during the hiatus which I will try and publish every so often.

Thanks for your support. As always,

** Recap**

Lara's POV

Watching Scorpius with Little Potter I couldn't help but think how much it is going to hurt when his heart gets broken. He's not a bad bloke, but the Potter Princess could never be seen with a Malfoy. Merlin, the blithering idiot isn't going to heed my advice. The war may be over but scores may never be settled.

Sitting nestled into Scorpius's side was none other than the Little Potter, putting on a brave face biding time until she could run back to the Potter Posse. If she hadn't been a Potter one might have thought she was muggleborn with how small and frail she was, timidly taking in the sight of the Great Hall.

Bollocks, I see why Scorpius is drawn to her. Its hard to resist caring for the Potter Princess. I wish I could say the same about my first day.

The sorting hat finished it's song as Professor Longbottom started calling the names of my classmates. But already I could hear the whispers:

"She's Death Eater scum."

"Dark the whole lot of them… bound to be a Slytherin"

"Goyle, Lara"

"Not Slytherin, aye, but Slytherin is your destiny. You're a Goyle it's where you're meant to be. It better be… SLYTHERIN"

With one word my heart stopped and tears began to roll down my face. No one tried to comfort me as I shuffled to the Slytherin table to join Dante.

No, I wouldn't let the Potter Princess suffer the way I did.

**End Recap**

No One's POV (Third Person POV)

Lily's first night was by far the hardest. The Dungeons were cold at night, the stone walls and floors dimmed all the light in the room. It wasn't hard to imagine what made Slytherins "evil" when they couldn't get a good night sleep. But it wasn't the cold, dark Dungeon that plagued her thought, but rather uneasy thoughts about how her family might react.

Unable to sleep, the small shivering redhead slipped from her covers and out into the common room.

Scorpius's POV

Dear Pemberly,

I expect you were expecting my owl but I forgot a few items in my room. If you could sent them to Hogwarts at your earliest convince I would greatly appreciate it.

- My grey jumper (you know the one Mum bought me at Madam Malkin's last Christmas)

- The navy journal in the top drawer of the dresser

- There should be some quills and ink on my desk, as well

Hopefully, that should do, but if there is anything else I will owl back. Meanwhile, I'll await your owl.

Faithfully Yours,

Scorpius Malfoy

There, that should do it. I can't bloody believe I forgot my journal, how stupid could I be. If dad read it there is not telling what he might do, blabbering on about how real Malfoy men show no emotions. Looking up from my letter I hadn't even noticed Lily had made her way to the common room and curled up in a big armchair by the fire.

"Lily?"

"Hi, Scor. Writing your mum?"

"Scor? And no writing Pemberly…our umm butler… I seem to have left some of my things in the manor."

"Scor, remember I told you I'd find you a nickname. I mean if you don't like it —"

Quickly Scorpius interjected, "No no it's perfect! Really Lily I like it loads."

It was quiet, Lily didn't say anything just sank into the armchair with a slight smile on her face. I hope I didn't upset her, my delicate flower. "Would you like to come to the owlery, I have to get this letter off and well I think the sun should be up soon, Hogwarts has the best sunrises."

"I'd like that."

"Well, come on then, We can drop this off and get an early breakfast in the Great Hall."

Slowly she rose from the chair so delicately, as if she was a flower and walked closer to me. Wordlessly, she followed me to the door. We walked in complete silence for a few floors, as we walked past the entrance to Gryffindor Tower she finally spoke up, "I still haven't written home, no doubt James and Albie have already told Mum and Dad about my sorting. At least I will know where to go when I do write."

"Are you afraid… of what they might say…?" I trailed off seeing the look of complete despair on her face. "I'm sorry, Lily, I didn't mean to offend you."

"No. You are perfectly alright. I'm not afraid of what they might say… I'm just afraid of what everyone else might. I'm sure Rita Skeeter would just love to get her hands on this story."

"I guess I get that Mum and Dad are always going on about how I have to make sure to keep the Malfoy name in good light because the Prophet is always looking to smear the Malfoy name. It's likely the same being a Potter, everything you do is… well, newsworthy."

Lily's POV

I looked up at Scor. I didn't see the same sweet boy I met on the train, he seemed hurt, maybe lost in thought. I wonder what his parents must be like if he didn't even write his Mum for what he was missing.

I couldn't help myself I wrapped my arms around him. If any situation called for a hug this was it. He jumped. Startled from contact, frozen stiff as a board.

Scorpius's POV

WHAT IS HAPPENING! HER ARMS ARE AROUND ME. She's hugging me. Lily is hugging me. Lily is— Huh. This is kinda nice.

Lily's POV

OH NO, OH NO! This was a mistake, clearly. I should have asked first. I shouldn't have hugged him. What was I bloody thinki— oh wait! Scor is hugging back! He's so warm. Merlin, I've missed the warmth the dungeons just aren't nearly warm enough.

"Come on Lily. We best be going or we are going to miss the sunrise. We are almost there."

I had completely forgot about that where we were going in the moment. Scorpius took my hand in his and led me up a spiral staircase towards the sounds of ruffling feathers. It was kind of, well, magnificent. Hundreds of owls nesting together cooing. Suddenly, I felt the warmth leaving my hand. A beautiful white eagle owl swooped down and landed on Scor's shoulder.

"Take this to Pemberly. Don't leave until he gives you a treat."

And with that the beautiful white owl flew at my head. Shrieking in terror as I ducked I heard a squeal come from the owl and a hearty laugh from Scorpius at my expense. "Come on Lily! You are going to miss the best part!"

And with those words he took my hand and drew me close just as the sun started crawling over the Forbidden Forrest. We stood in an understating silence for a few moments until once again Scorpius took my hand and lead me towards the Great Hall for breakfast.

Author's Note: Well, I know what y'all are thinking wow she's back so soon. There must really be something up. Here's the first full chapter I've written in well umm years… All I can say is I'd like for this to always be the case, but with school starting up again soon I don't know how often I will be able to write. Guys I saw how many of you read my story, I don't want to be a comment whore but its hard to write without your feedback. Keep that in mind.

That's all folks.
