Chapter 11

Author's Note: So hoping to keep the writing flow going with another chapter. I really hope that the more recent chapters are as good as the first few. Time changes perspective and tone so it's pretty hard to match the characters to what I had written before. Hope you enjoy.

**Recap**

Lily's POV

OH NO, OH NO! This was a mistake, clearly. I should have asked first. I shouldn't have hugged him. What was I bloody thinki— oh wait! Scorp is hugging back! He's so warm. Merlin, I've missed the warmth the dungeons just aren't nearly warm enough.

"Come on Lily. We best be going or we are going to mis the sunrise. We are almost there."

I had completely forgot about that where we were going in the moment. Scorpius took my hand in his and led me up a spiral staircase towards the sounds of ruffling feathers. It was kind of, well, magnificent. Hundreds of owls nesting together cooing. Suddenly, I felt the warmth leaving my hand. A beautiful white eagle owl swooped down and landed on Scor's shoulder.

"Take this to Pemberly. Don't leave until he gives you a treat."

And with that the beautiful white owl flew at my head. Shrieking in terror as I ducked I heard a squeal come from the owl and a hearty laugh from Scorpius at my expense. "Come on Lily! You are going to miss the best part!"

And with those words he took my hand and drew me close just as the sun started crawling over the Forbidden Forrest. We stood in an understating silence for a few moments until once again Scorpius took my hand and lead me towards the Great Hall for breakfast.

**End Recap**

Scorpius's POV

She's gorgeous. Simply perfect. Her hair shimmering in the morning sunlight, her green eyes sparkling, and that smile. Well, that smile could make a man's heart stop beating. If we want to get anything to eat before classes start we best be off. Grabbing her small, delicate hand in mine I lead her away from a sunrise that paled in comparison to her beauty.

As they weaved through the hallways Scorpius had thought only of taking care of Lily: making sure she had something to eat before her first day of classes, hoping she had her books for her lessons, aching to show her around the castle and all the other places on the grounds he had made his home. He wanted her to fall in love with Hogwarts just as he had.

Sitting down at the Slytherin table, Scorpius smiled as Lily straightened her hair and marveled at the feast that appeared before them. To Scorpius this was just breakfast, but he could see how the multitude of choices had enthralled her.

Chuckling Scorpius asked, "Tea or Coffee, Lily?", as he poured himself a cup of tea with honey and lemon.

"I've never had coffee…"

"Eh, you aren't missing out on much it's bloody bitter and tastes a fair bit like goblin piss."

"Have experiences with that, huh, Scor?" She joked.

Sliding into the seat next to Scorpius, Lara spoke up, "Scorpion, here has had loads of experience with all that. I mean, with Lucius Malfoy as a grandfather, goblin piss is something of a blessing."

Scorpius shot Lara a look colder than a Dementor, "Lara likes to exaggerate Lil, she doesn't mean that, really."

He couldn't help but look at the look of pity and distress on Lily's face. Scorpius was overwhelmed with a sense of rage at Lara, it wasn't her place to tell Lily about all the awful occurrences of his past. He didn't want her pity, he wanted her friendship.

No One's POV (Third Person POV)

At heart Scorpius was still the boy who had been captivated by the girl on the platform with the fiery redhead on the platform. His mind dwelled on what she thought and hoping that she was happy. Despite his knowledge he had fallen for the spitfire and he would only fall further.

As they sat in silence eating their breakfast, Scorpius's mind wandered to what Lily might think of the reality Lara had dropped so early in the morning and Lily's thoughts were on pancakes. She missed Teddy and the muggle mouse pancakes, the ones at Hogwarts weren't nearly as good. They were warm and gooey covered in molasses, but still they dimmed in comparison to Teddy's.

Lara's POV

Shit. I could see it on his face from the moment I spoke. Scorpius had never been too open with his past, but that doesn't mean he needed to be snarky about it. He needs to lighten up and take it with a stride.

We all had a rough childhood, being the grandchildren (and children in some cases) of death eaters we have all seen the vile behavior and horrible punishment.

"Lara Jeanette Goyal, how dare you befriend that blood traitor scum. It appears you don't understand our place in society."

He took the cigar he had lit up just a few minutes before, "We are Purebloods." He grabbed my arm using the cigar to make a crisp circle on her arm. "We do not associate with muggles," he pressed the cigar to my arm again, "mudbloods," and again, "or blood traitors," as he branded my arm a fourth time.

Looking at my arm, I could still see the crisp clean outline of four circles. My grandfather had been just as cruel as Lucius. Scorpius and I had that in common. We were both covered in scars from the past both physical and emotional. I know I shouldn't have bombarded Scorpius with bad memories. I'd have reacted to just the same had be brought up my past.

Author's Note: Sorry this chapter is a little short guys. I wrote this between studying for exams so I don't know how good it will be but either way I hope you enjoy. I'm not sure when you will be reading this as I always try to write another chapter before posting a new one, but it would be really satisfying to get some reviews on stories. I really appreciate all the reads I have been getting lately, but comments really make it so much better. Wish me luck on my exams. I'll make y'all a deal. If I get ten comments on this I'll post a chapter or a short after every exam I take next week.
