**Recap**

Lily's POV

Looking down at my gargling stomach, I saw a slip of parchment on the corner of my desk with the same messy writing that had been on the letter I saw in the common room this morning. Hiding the note on my lap I smiled realizing he had been thinking about how I was doing. Looking through my bag for a quill, my stomach grumbled again with hope of lunch.

Scor, you HAVE to teach me this spell! I really like Charms (it seems rather easy), Transfiguration is rather bland though. The only exciting thing Auntie Minnie has shown us so far was her animagus form. (It was wicked but nothing I hadn't seen before). What classes have you had?

Auntie Minnie gave me a suspicious look as I tapped the parchment once with my wand but she didn't do much about it. Transfiguration dragged on for another fifteen minutes or so before a short break. Looking a few rows ahead I saw the unruly tuff of red hair belonging to Hugo and longed for my best friend.

"Come on Hughy we want to get back before Dinner. Grandma Weasley is making dinner and you know it's going to be good."

"Slowdown, Lil! You are going to fall off your broom!"

"You just don't think you could beat me back to the Burrow. Just try to catch me Hughy!" As Hugo sped up, his hands started shaking and he lost control of his broom falling about seven feet to the garden below.

Without thinking, Lily had landed next to Hugo who had passed out on impact trying to put him onto her broom to get him back to Auntie Hermione, she would know what to do, she always knew what to do. Unable to get Hugo on her broom, she sat with him waiting until their family came looking for the duo.

**End Recap**

Hugo's POV

Just as Aunt Minnie dismissed class I picked up my bag and headed for where James said the kitchens were, I was starving and if the feast last night was any indication Hogwarts had bloody amazing food.

Having missed breakfast Hugo raced down the staircase to find the kitchen when he ran into someone, literally.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was go—" suddenly he looked up to see who he ran into, " — Lily. Ummm. How are you?"

She smiled in the way only Lily could smile, my best friend. "Hey Hughy. I'm not so bad. A little tired. It's bloody cold in the dungeons too."

"Hey, Lily, I'm going down to the kitchen for a bite to eat. Care to join me?"

"I would love to Hughy. I'm part Weasley, you know — always hungry!"

Lily's POV

And just like that we were back. Hugo and Lily. Lily and Hugo. It's almost as if nothing had changed; except everything had changed. Hugo barely acknowledged her until he barreled her over. She was a Slytherin and friends with a Malfoy to boot.

"Hughy, you do know where the kitchens are right? We are going to be late to class if we don't find it soon."

"You doubt me? James told me exactly where to look… I'm just… well I'm a little turned around is all."

" Lily, I'm scared."

"Don't worry Hughy. Just stay with me we will find them." Lily was just as scared as Hugo she was just trying to keep it together until they found their family.

An old, hunchback women approached the children, grinning with the few teeth she has left. "Are you lost dearies? Knockturn Alley is no place for children."

Suddenly a beautiful lady walked towards the two young children. "Excuse me madam but those are my children you are harassing. If you don't leave at once I will be forced to call for my husband and he wont be as polite as I."

Lily looked at Hugo astonished. The beautiful blonde women smiled kindly at the pair. "Hello dears. I'm Astoria. Would you tell me your names? Draco and I will help you find your family. We mean no harm."

Shyly, Lily spoke in a timid whisper, "Hello Astoria. I'm Lily and this is my cousin Hugo. We were in Diagon Alley shopping for school things with our family and we got a little lost."

"Oh you poor dears." She motioned for a cool stiff man in a dark suit. "Draco, honey, these too lost their way in Diagon Alley."

"Astoria, do you happen to know who these children are?" His tone was as cool as his exterior.

"Yes dear this is Lily and her cousin Hugo." Astoria smiled kindly at the children gesturing to each of them in turn.

"Astoria, that is a Potter and a Weasley. You have to bring them back before they think we kidnapped them."

"Oh dear. We best be off in this case. You two aren't far."

Lily spotted a familiar face down the cobblestone. "Dadddyyyy. Oh Daddy we were lost and we met this scary old lady, oh, then Astoria came and helped us find you."

Dad looked up. His smile quickly disappeared when he caught the story grey eyes of the cold man. "Malfoy."

The man glared back, "Potter."

"Well thank you for bringing back Hugo and our little flower."

The man's expression softened, "Of course Potter, couldn't have these too getting into any trouble could we?"

With a chuckle, Daddy replied, "No of course not. I'll see you at the ministry, Draco."

Hugo's POV

She seems a little more spacey today than usual. I miss the Lily I knew. "Lily? Lily? Maybe we should just give up. Go back to class—"

"Hughy. Do you think we've changed. I mean I know its only a house, but we've never not been on the same wavelength. Could things really have changed overnight?"

"Lily! Were you even listening to a thing I said?! Maybe you are right. Maybe you did change cause I sure as bloody hell didn't. You are nothing like the Lily I know."

"Maybe I am different. Or maybe you are just as narrow minded and pig brained as the rest of them. Our parents fought a war for the same biases and I for one am not interested in fighting another bloody war over the same damn thing!" With that Lily turned around and fumed down the corridor.

Hugo regretted what he said as soon as he watched her walk away. Lily was family and they were closer than anyone else, but all in one day he had ruined it. His best friend hated him. She accused him of being as prejudiced as a Death Eater.

Scorpius's POV

Scorpius sat outside the Great Hall looking for Lily. Watching as all the other first years passed by giggling and gossiping amongst themselves. She wasn't there.

Digging through his bag Scorpius found the piece of parchment the two had been sending notes on earlier.

Lily,

I'm not sure where you ran off to after classes but I couldn't find you. Please let me know you are okay.

Scorpius

Tapping his wand firmly against the parchment he watched it simply disappear knowing his message would be sent along to his delicate little flower.

Author's Note: So I finished off my exams and we had a bunch of snow roll through and things were crazy as hell. Currently I'm on a plane trying to figure out how the hell I'm gonna get from point A to B in this story cause I know where I Want to go with it I just don't have the in between figured out. Honestly I don't know much at this point.
