Chapter 14

Author's Note: Damn I can't believe I made it this far with this story not gonna lie. Usually I like doing one shots so much better than doing longer fics (mostly because I don't have the attention span needed to dedicate so much time to writing a decent long story. Oh! And cause with one shots I can do so many different situations and stories that I couldn't do with a longer fic. Anyway on with the show.

Edit: Sorry y'all, I just noticed there was some weird formatting with the previous submission so hopefully this will fix that and maybe I will revisit my folders and write some more of this or post another one shot or two. Stay safe.

**Recap**

Scorpius's POV

Scorpius sat outside the Great Hall looking for Lily. Watching as all the other first years passed by giggling and gossiping amongst themselves. She wasn't there.

Digging through his bag Scorpius found the piece of parchment the two had been sending notes on earlier.

Lily,

I'm not sure where you ran off to after classes but I couldn't find you. Please let me know you are okay.

Scorpius

Tapping his wand firmly against the parchment he watched it simply disappear knowing his message would be sent along to his delicate little flower.

**End Recap**

No One's POV (Third Person POV)

After Lily stormed off on Hugo she didn't quite know where to go so she just kept walking. At this point, she wasn't even sure where in the castle she was. The only thing Lily was sure about was that she had just made the worst decision in her eleven short years. She lost her best friend.

As Lily wandered the castle aimlessly, Scorpius worried. Staring at the parchment he waited. Waited for her reply; waited for proof of life; just waited. He didn't know what else he could do if he was being honest with himself he was just biding the time until he could go look for his flower.

Hugo sat by himself in the back row of his potions class thinking about what happened between him and his cousin. He regretted every word he said. Lily hadn't changed, not really. She was the same spirited spitfire he loved. He was just flabbergasted and upset she wasn't with him in Gryffindor Tower like she promised.

James was waiting for the right moment to see his sister. He wasn't as much concerned with her sorting as he was with the people in her house. His baby sister was a snake, but just how long would he really have until he lost her to the snake pit.

As the students of Hogwarts bid the time through the rest of the afternoon the castle creaked slowly accepting the new minds entering its walls, learning who they were and what they sought.

Scorpius's POV

Sitting down at the Slytherin table for dinner Scorpius still hadn't seen Lily. He was concerned to say the least, yet he was unsure what to do about it.

"Professor Slughorn! Professor!"

The old man turned around slowly to face Scorpius, "Ah. Scorpius, my boy, what can I do for you, eh?"

"Professor, you haven't seen Lily have you? Lily Potter? I haven't seen her since breakfast and she was supposed to meet me in the Great Hall for dinner."

"Miss Potter you say? I have not, my boy. She wasn't in my class this afternoon either. It's a pity really. I was quite looking forward to teaching her. Her namesake, Lily Evans, was one of the most talented students I ever taught, even more impressive when one considers she was muggleborn. Oh, please don't think I'm prejudice, no, no, no! She was one of my favorites—" Scorpius cut off the older professor's ramblings.

"I'm sorry to interrupt like that Professor, but I really must go find her. She's probably lost somewhere in the Castle." With those parting words, Scorpius rushed out of the Great Hall and towards Gryffindor tower.

Slughorn's POV

Oh to be young and in love. Slughorn reminisced lost in thoughts of his youth.

"Horace, sweetie, come on…"

"The last thing we need is another throw pillow, Mel. It looks just like the million others you already bought." Horace sighed as he placed the pillow in the basket, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for her, even if it meant letting her redecorate his flat in red of all colors.

"Now, I want to go look at shower curtains. I hear the muggles have an entire store dedicated to things for the loo. Oh! And I want to see if we can get some paint, I don't like how dark it is in your sitting room, maybe something lighter would look better."

Horace smiled and nodded telling the beautiful blonde to get whatever she wanted as long as they could leave. He wanted nothing more than to take her home and keep her all to himself.

Horace wanted nothing more than to have her in his arms again. It had been forty years and she still had captivated his heart.

Lily's POV

After wandering the castle trying to find some sense of where she was Lily gave up and slide into a corner near a statue of a one eyed witch where she found some curtains that were perfect for a nice long cry by herself.

"Princess?" Daddy called as he walked down the hallway and Lily ducked under the bed as her father opened the bedroom door.

Lily held back sobs trying to be as quiet as possible.

"Lilybean, I can hear you. Now please come out and let me fix whatever is wrong." Lily crawled out from under her bed tear stricken.

"Albie said that girls can't play quiddich and that I should go play inside with Rosie." Lily broke out in tears again as she spoke. Her entire body shaking as she sobbed in his arms.

"Oh Lily, you know he's just jealous. You are such an amazing flyer, just like your mom. How about you and I go show them that girls and old dads are the best quiddich players."

With a silent sob Lily squeaked out an okay.

"And when we win I'll take you out for ice cream." Her father winked at her.

After a while, the tears started to dry on her face and her sobs were few and far between. Lily curled up next the the statue; not quite ready to leave her corner she shut her eyes and pulled her knees into her chest.

Scorpius's POV

"Lily? Lily! Lily?!" He shouted down the corridors. No one had seen the witch since earlier that morning and Scorpius feared more than anything that something had happened to her. Forgoing dinner he wandered the castle calling out to his Lily.

In a whisper so quiet he though he had imagined it he heard her soft voice, "Scor?"

Following what he thought to be the sound of her voice her stumbled, literally, upon the crumpled form of the little redhead.

Author's Note: Hey guys, it seems I only ever write when I have breaks for school. Sorry about that. Maybe I will actually write this story over the summer. I honestly don't know how far I want to take this story, but I hope y'all will stick around for the ride.
