PART 3
It had been two hours since Julia was sitting at her husband´s office, waiting for him, as the old detective just stared at the blackboard where he attached the note that was found aside the constable´s body.
''What the meaning of this?'' a voice startled them, as the Inspector approached.
''Sir, I believe Henry wasn´t the target, he was just on the wrong time and place, it could have been George or…''
''Or what Murdoch? This note is just an excuse, the killer wasn´t after Henry, or the other constable for that matter, he wants the entire force down, this note, is just to set us off the trail!''
''Do you believe so, Sir?''
''Why not? So you better start to look after him, my old friend, before he finds you first!''
''Right Sir, but… I don´t want to involve any other constables, I don´t want them to feel in danger... you know…''
''As you wish, WATTS!''
''Called me?'' the younger detective jumped out of his chair.
''You will assisting Detective Murdoch on this investigation.'' The Inspector replied before leaving.
Once alone again with his wife, William eyed Julia up to down, carefully choosing the next words, as part of him knew his wife would disapprove of his actions.
''Julia…'' he started. ''Maybe it will be better if I write Anna Fulford and ask her if you could stay with her and Harry, till we finish the case, don´t you think?''
''Not a chance William, I'm not leaving your side, not now, so forget it.'' Julia replied and in response, William just stared at her.

Once making sure Julia was safe back at the house, William and Llewelyn made their way toward the morgue, where Miss Hart had finished the postmortem. The result, it was an injury similar to the one on Higgins, that killed the second constable.
''I ust say Detective, I'm not even a bit sad for seeing this constable on my slab, contrary to Constable Higgins!'' Miss Hart pointed and in response, Murdoch raised an eyebrow.
''What you mean by that, Miss Hart?'' he asked.
''You tell him, Detective Watts, or should i?''
''What is going on?'' William asked confused.
''Detective, this is Constable Frederic Rose,'' Miss Hart started. ''And I must say, he had a very nasty habit of harassing black women around, me included.''
''I beg your pardon?'' William knitted his eyebrows furiously.
''Miss hart had told me that a few months ago, but I swear detective, I only give him a warning and told him I would report to his superior, if he continue to act like that but… it appear someone else had another idea.''
''And what Mr. Carmichael had to say about it?'' William asked and in response, Miss Hart blushed.
''My husband doesn´t knows that Constable Rose acted indecent with me, Detective, I didn´t told him,'' she started. ''Apart from that, his time of death is between twelve to fourteen hours, Arthur was sleeping during that time, I'm sure of it, he didn´t killed the constable.''
''I see… Watts, bring Inspector Harbor here, he´s the responsible for Station House 5, meanwhile, I will talk with our Inspector, maybe if we only focus on Higgins, we can find this killer faster.'' William suggested and Watts agreed.

With all information's Watts gathered from station 5 and the talk Thomas Brackenreid and Murdoch had with Inspector Harbor, both detectives and their inspector conclude that Constable Rose wasn´t the best person to be around, as none of them, had something good to say about him.
''So, it seems that the killer gives the world a favor,'' the Inspector smirked dryly. ''But he´s still a killer and for Higgins's sake, he needs to go to jail, so, what you suggest?''
''As I was telling Detective Watts, Sir, I suppose that if we focus solemnly on Henry, maybe we find the killer more quickly, don't you think?''
''As long as you finish this case quick, what you suggest next?''
''I will talk to Mrs. Higgins, maybe she can tell us something we miss…'' William started. ''And Sir, you mind if Julia came with me?''
''Not at all, suits yourself.''
''Meanwhile, I will retrace Henry´s steps for that night, see what I can find.'' Watts point out and left the office.

Rupert Newsome was sitting beside his sister, as she cried on his shoulder, missing her dear husband when Julia and William arrived. Meanwhile, nearby, little Jordan play with her toys, unaware of her father´s death, which somehow, broke the old couple´s hearts.
It took them however, more than half an hour to finish their interrogation, since Ruth start to cry every time the detective or the doctor tried to say something.
''Please, Ruth, you must know something,'' Julia said getting out of patience despite of the pithiness. ''Did Henry told you something important? Like if he had been threating by someone?''
''Threat? He was a police officer, who would dare to threat him?'' Rupert asked incredulous.
''And no, my sweet Henry, he never told me anything that could upset me… my poor dear, dear, dear Henry, so brave was he…'' Ruth sobbed and with just an annoying nod, Julia and William left.
Once on the street, Julia stopped her husband with a confuse look and told him she suspects Rupert may had done the killing, after all he never did liked Henry.
''And what about Constable Rose?'' William replied. ''Henry was killed the same fashion as him, besides, George said the man who killed Henry was black and I'm sure George wasn´t lying.''
''No he wasn´t,'' Julia agreed. ''Lets go back to the station and talk to the Inspector, tell him we found nothing with Mrs. Higgins.'' Julia suggested and William greed.

Back at the station, Thomas was writing a report, when suddenly he head the door of his office opening and hus daughter, Nomi Johnston came, but with a not so happy face, worrying the Inspector.
''Father, sorry for coming up this way, I kno its not a good time.'' She said.
''Its always a good time for your visit, my dear, what can I do for you?'' he embraced his daughter.
''Could you ask a constable to make a small investigation to me?'' she asked and opened her purse.
''Of course, what is it?''
''I found this morning, she opened a small pack, showing her father a blood knife with a broken tip. ''Someone had thrown it on my garbage last night I suppose.'' She said leaving the older man speechless.
