Disclaimers: I only own Maria, and all characters that aren't anything to do with F4, or Greenday.
A/n I'm really sorry I havn't updated. I've been really ill the past two weeks... So tired you wouldn't believe. I fell asleep at work a few times, I even fell asleep on a bench waiting for a ride that was late. It was in the dark, which is a really studpid thing to do, so I don't reccomend it. Anyway, I've very nealry finished this story, so fate permits, I will be updating hopefully everynight until it is finished... So I hope you enjoy!

Maria sat on her bed in silence waiting for what her father had just told her to sink in. Jack was dead? He couldn't be, she hadn't called him yet, she hadn't spoken to him and listened to what he had to say. Was that what he wanted to tell her? Was that why he'd asked her to him to tell her what his father's plan was? Was that why he was sorry, because of what his father had done?
Her mind raced, had he meant what he'd said when he'd told her he loved her? Maybe he was sorry because he knew he was going to kill himself. She was never going to know now. She couldn't ask him… Her eyes filled with tears at the thought of the questions that were always going to remain unanswered. Or maybe she was crying at the thought of the world ending… But she knew they'd stop Jack's dad. They had to.
"The funeral's next week," Ben said gently pulled her to him, but she showed no reaction. She was frozen, save for the tears that flowed like a waterfall down her face. "Jack's mum wanted to know if you could pick the music," he told her.
Maria pulled away and walked to the window, and just stared. She cursed the sun for the fact it was still shining. She remembered how the sun shone the day they buried her parents. She didn't go to the funeral, remembering a poem saying something like not crying by a grave, they weren't there.
"I'll leave you for a while," Ben told her, but she couldn't hear him. Her mind was no longer in this world, he walked out the door leaving her in the silence she made.

Johnny could hear the sound of Greenday coming though Maria's door, and he rethought about knocking on it. Yet the guilt he was feeling for not telling her the truth about Jack's kiss and tell story threatened to consume him like the fires he could cause.
The wood was hard under his knuckles as he wrapped the door. There was no answer, but he opened it anyway. "Maria?" he called softly, she was lying on the bed, her back to him.
"What do you want?" she asked, her voice thick with tears after hours of weeping.
"Can I sit down?" he asked, moving slowly to the bed. She didn't answer, "Ok," he said softly, "I'll just stand then," he said, but again she didn't reply. "I have something to tell you," still no answer. "Jack didn't sell that story… it was made up by some kids who wanted to make a quick buck," he waited for a reaction, but he didn't get one. "I should have told you… I'm sorry I didn't…" he trailed off. Was she going to get angry? Maybe burst into tears? Laugh? (A/n Ok, maybe not laugh- but you get what I mean, right? RIGHT?) Maybe she'd spray him with water, or just simply stab him. (A/n personally I would stab him… but Maria doesn't have a knife in her room – ok, enough with me trying to break the tension). Johnny stood there waiting for her to say something. After the silence grew unbearable, he asked "Maria?"
This time he got a reaction, this time she turned around, he face was streaked with undried tears, her eyes blood shot, and puffy. "What do you want me to say Johnny?" she asked, her voice weak, and defenceless. "Do you want me to thank you for finally telling me?" She turned back around, "I doesn't matter anymore…" she said. "I don't care…"
"Maria…" Johnny began, feeling his world begin to crumble.
"Just leave me alone," she said weakly, and waited to hear the sound of Johnny's feet slowly moving away.
Johnny closed the door, just as Billy Joe's voice sang the words 'Wake me up when September ends.' The Human Torch shook his head, 'How appropriate,' he thought, after all, it was Septwmber. He stood outside her door, and heard the song begin again, Maria had it on 'repeat'…
