Perfectly Pink

"Wanna go get something to eat?" The red-headed archer shifted nervously in front of the hex witch.

"Your team won't miss you?" Jinx asked curiously, tilting her head to just that spot – there! – where the diminishing sunlight sparkled in her pink eyes. He loved it when it did that.

"Not until training tomorrow, at the earliest." He smirked, that sexy, you-love-me-and-you-know-it, just-try-to-deny-it smirk that had the hordes of squealing fangirls following him around, that smirk that she loved to watch slip onto his face.

"You still haven't told them?" she asked nervously, toying with a strand of bubblegum-pink hair. It was loose, out of its usual horn-shape, and Speedy loved to watch it sway as she spoke.

"I didn't think you wanted me to." The reply was predictable; they had been over this many times before.

"I don't. I don't want my team knowing. This whole thing, this hero-and-villain thing. It's never going to work. Why do we try?" Her eyes, big, beautiful, and oh-so-pink, pleaded with him to explain it all away, to give her hope. He laughed softly, just for her ears.

"Because I love you."

Her thin, pink lips parted in a wide smile.

"I know."

A pout.

A laugh.

"I love you, too."
