Magus wasn't sure how long he had been knocked out, but the moment he opened his eyes, he felt exhausted and in pain. Vision blurred as he tried to process what happened just before. Then he remembered, the memories came back so quickly. He was trying to summon Lavos, but that Frog had come to interfere, he brought that fool named Crono too. They ruined his attempt to seek vengeance on Lavos!

Once his sight came back, he noticed he was in some sort of cave, and he felt as though he had been there before. But how and where?

Taking a moment to breathe, he looked around the area, making absolutely sure that he was alone and those fools didn't end up where he was. It was empty and silent, save for some water drops that would drip down, making little dripping noises.

"The...Magic Cave? Have I fallen?" He asked to nobody but himself. "What...happened?"

Getting up, he saw the exit, and without any words, he departed the cave, feeling a painful soreness in his body. The moment he stepped foot outside of the cave, he felt harsh winds all around him, and he covered himself with his cape. "Snow fields...A world of ice?"

He remembered this bitter cold, he went down there with his sister when he was a young child to visit the Earthbound ones. But...surely this was some sort of hallucination he was having, there was no way he was back here. His memories were coming back to him, did the gate really take him back in time?

As he kept making his way through the ice and snow, gripping the amulet around his neck, if he was transported back in time, there might still be a way to save Schala! Even better, he could have the chance to defeat Lavos right then and there. He was confident in himself, he could finally stop the calamities that were about to happen.

Soon enough, he found a building, but as he went inside there he noticed that it was a skyway. In front of him was a teleportation platform, one that, if him going back in time was true, would take him up to the Kingdom of Zeal. So, he stepped onto the platform as a bright light began to glow around him, before it took him upwards.

Then, as he made it to the other end, he looked around, seeing the floating islands around him. As everything he had just speculated was true, the platform was flying, and it took him to Zeal. He thought it was impossible, had he gone back in time? The gate really brought him here? It was all so surreal.

"Zeal is in one piece…" He mused, looking down at the glowing symbol on the skyway platform. "But what will this mean? Will Schala be alive? Lavos…Lavos will…" The memory of that moment came back to him, Lavos going out of control and the three Gurus being sent to unknown parts. He tried to shout to his sister, but he couldn't do anything as he was sent to another age, he was but a child then. With this, however, he had a second chance, and with that realization, he grinned. "I have a chance to stop it then! My god…I've been given another chance to fix everything!"

He turned away from the platform, looking around once more, he could not believe it, he had returned to the place he once called home. As he observed the area, he saw the town of Enhasa within walking distance. Perhaps he could gather some information there, he needed everything he could to make sure Lavos would not cause harm again. So, that was what he did, clutching his sister's amulet as he did.

In no time at all he had made it to Enhasa, looking around and seeing the many people doing their own thing, sleeping, studying, and other things. Taking a few steps further inside the building, he was greeted by a man.

"Welcome to Enhasa, where dreams…" The man took a bit to look at Magus. "My, you have quite an aura there. I wonder of your origins…" He stumbled on his words as the warlock gave him a dark glare. "Ah, my apologies, enjoy this city of dreams, traveler!"

What an unnecessary interaction, Magus thought, before continuing on. Perhaps given how he was a shadow user that many others had managed to point out his threatening aura. They had no idea what was going to happen, of course. So he just ignored them, none of them mattered to him anyway.

As he continued to search for information, he had heard rumors about how the time of immortality was nigh. He realized that depending on when he was transported in time, the activation of the Mammon Machine in the ocean palace would only be days away. With nothing left to lose he left Enhasa, now trying to think of an idea to get towards Lavos.

Knowing that Lavos's awakening would be happening soon, he had come up with one idea, but it would require somehow breaching through and gaining access to the palace. Which also meant he had to speak with his mother, Queen Zeal. Fortunately for him, he was good at adapting to his surroundings. He could disguise as a prophet, with his knowledge of what was to come, he could use it to his advantage to predict what would happen. Yes, that would work nicely. The hard part would be convincing her, but he would plan everything accordingly.

Suddenly, he looked up, seeing a familiar boy in the distance; impulsively, he lifted up the hood of his cloak, making sure it covered most of his face. He knew who he was seeing, his past self, Janus, along with his cat Alfador.

While seeing his younger self was a bit strange now, he simply laughed at him, how dumb he once was. Janus didn't seem to notice him as he eventually went off somewhere else. It was a relief, at least, but something told Magus that he would see him again.

That wasn't important though, what he needed to focus on was the destruction of Lavos.

He looked down at the amulet, seeing it's shining glow shimmer in the bright sun. It filled him with the utmost power.

"I will put an end to this. No matter what the cost."
