Chapter 1 –The Sun Is Shining.
Ding! That bell indicated that school was over and everyone could head home. Our blond, blue-eyed boy started packing his things so he could join Sasuke and Sakura head home.
'Another day of school survived' thought Naruto positively, because usually the teacher would give him extra homework for not listening in class. He grabbed his things and went running to them.
The sun shone brightly that day, more bright than usual, but Naruto hadn't noticed. The air was blowing on his hair that it seemed to dance, moving in almost all directions. He went to join Sasuke and Sakura at the local bus stop.
Hinata's class dismissed at the same time too, but it took her longer to move. She had no one to run to. Neji was with Tenten that day so it made her feel quite alone. She walked down the cemented pave way, looking at the ground.
'Oh. The sun is shining brighter today.' Thought Hinata, as she looked up at the sunny sky. It gave her a sense of peace and hope. She closed her eyes and continued heading home, clutching the straps of her backpack tightly.
BUMP
She looked up and saw an orange figure, Naruto. Sasuke and Sakura boarded the bus that just stopped by.
"N-n-naruto-kun…I'm so sorry, I-I wasn't l-l-looking and I-I think I- -"She was cut off by Naruto.
"Hey, don't worry about it Hinata-chan!" Said the fox-boy grinningly. Hinata blushed a light pink, sure it was light, but Naruto noticed it.
"Hinata-chan, why are you blushing?" asked Naruto with a confused look.
"I'm not blushing…" said the shy ninja denyingly, but that only made her blush even more. Sasuke and Sakura were waving frantically at Naruto, trying to make him get on the bus. Naruto shook his head.
"Gomen, Sakura…Sasuke. I'll just walk Hinata home today." Said Naruto. He really liked Hinata, he didn't want to let her walk alone. Sasuke and Sakura just gave him the 'suit yourself' look and left. The fox-boy waved at the leaving bus.
"N-naruto-kun, why did you leave them?"
"I just felt like walking you home."
"N-no N-Naruto-kun, you d-don't have t-to…"
"Hinata-chan, you don't want me to walk you home?" Said Naruto with a sad expression. Hinata, not wanting Naruto to leave her, said
"N-no, n-no, it's fine with me. Please, do so."
"Sure! Anything for you Hinata-chan!" said Naruto getting all excited, for he was going to walk home the best and prettiest girl ever, (in his point of view).
The walk home was quite quiet. Naruto had his hands fixed at the back of his head, forming a relaxed position, while looking up into the sky. Hinata held her backpack to the front, while staring at the ground. Naruto broke the silence.
"The sun is shining bright today, isn't it, Hinata?"
"H-h-hai, N-n-naruto-kun."
"Doesn't it look pretty?"
"Y-yeah, i-it d-deos."
Naruto just smiled at her, making her feel uneasy and blush again. Naruto chukled.
"Why did you laugh?"
"Oh. Nothing important, you just look cute when you blush." Said Naruto with a grin. Hinata blushed again.
"Hey Hinata-chan, guess what I learned today at school!" exclaimed Naruto.
"What is it, Naruto-kun?" she talked with less fear this time.
"I learned that to win a hundred battles, it is not always the skill, it is the strategy of the fight."
"That sounds like something Shikamaru would say."
"Yeah, but it subdues the enemy without fighting, that's what you call offensive strategy."
"So, what now?"
"I don't know, it just has a meaning to me." Said Naruto for it really did. To him it meant that in time he would be using this plan.
"Uh-huh…Well this is my stop, thanks for walking me home, Naruto-kun." Said the Hyuuga. Naruto was too busy thinking that he didn't notice that they were already there.
"Oh, ok. See you tomorrow, Hinata-chan!" and he bid good bye to Hinata who was already within the mansion's gates.
