I had a strange dream, I was in a unfamiliar place that felt familiar, but everything seemed to be made of smoke. It was odd. There were mist figures around me, but I couldn't make out faces, and it seemed like they were giants... or was I small?

"Lord -." I turned to look at two mist figures. "You can't seriously believe that low class warrior." It sounded gravely and not human.

"That Low Class warrior, is stronger and smarter then most elites. I am getting off this rock now." He shoved the smaller figure out of the way.

"Lord -." One of the other figures stepped in the way. "We can't let you leave the world."

"I can do as I damn well please! Now get out of my way before I gut you like a fish!" He shoved the man out of the way. "I need to do something!"

"Stop him!" they threw up their hands and fired magic at the man, but he blocked it all with ease.

"You fools die here then."

I awoke with a start to the sound of Asta and Yuno packing up their stuff. "Helen, Lets get going." Yuno said as I stood up on shivering legs. "Was it too cold last night?" He asked.

"No, just a bad dream." I waved it off. "I'll be fine."

Chapter 6: The Captital

I ran along side Asta and Yuno as we climbed the rocky hill. We had been on the road for two whole weeks. "Are we there yet?" I whined.

"No." Asta said.

"Are we there yet?" I asked again.

"No." Yuno said to me.

"Are we there yet?" I asked a third time.

"No." They both responded.

"Are we..."

"NO!" They both yelled at me.

"..." I looked at them. "Are we there yet?"

"WHAT DID WE JUST TELL YOU!?" We crested the hill as the two of the yelled, "We aren't there... oh.. yes." On the top of a large his was the Capital. More buildings and people then I had ever seen. It was so much to take in. The river that ran close to the walls, the paved roads, and the smells that wafted from the city. And at the very top I could see the castle, with towers and spires.

"That's where the Wizard King lives. One day I'll be the Wizard King, and no one will have to worry about anything ever again." Asta said. "Yuno, I might even let you live there as well." He said with a smile.

"No you won't be. I'll be the one letting you to live there." Yuno smiled.

We were so close to our goal. "Let's go you two! Adventure awaits!" I leaped down the side of the hill, my feet sliding on the grass as my tail curld behind me in excitement, my grimoire held close to my chest as I grinned like a small child.

"WAIT UP HELEN!" Asta yelled as he followed me.

The inside of the city gates were just as beautiful as the outside. This is where the elite of the clover kingdom lived. Nothing but the best should be here. Streamers, and decorations were up to celebrate the magic knight exam. Vendors with foods, and souvenirs, people from all over the kingdom. The smells of exotic foods filled my senses. Street performers, bards and poets took turns reciting and enacting the deeds of the past Wizard Kings.

"Ahhhh!" I was elated and excited as I tried to take it all in. It was so different from my life at Hage. My tail was tucked away under my dress as I looked around my grimoire pressed against my armor. "It's more then I ever expected!"

"You have that right sis!" Asta cheered as he ate something that looked chard off of a stick.

"Come on, we have to sign up for the exam." Yuno led the way through the crowd as he was the tallest, followed by me and Asta. Soon we got to a clear area with several lines out side a arena.

"Magic Knight exam sign ups! Have your grimoire ready!" A man called out. I got in line between Yuno and Asta.

Step by step I got closer to my future, be it a magic knight or on my own.

Soon Yuno was in front of the line. "Yuno from Hage." He held out his Grimoire.

"Hage? That's way out... a four leave clover!" The man was shocked as he looked at the golden book. He touched the cover and there was a soft glow. "Y-you are number one hundred and sixty four." Yuno went inside as calm as always.

I took the front spot. "Helen from Hage. Here's my grimoire." I held it out.

"Uh, I've never seen that symbol before?" He said as he looked at my crimson grimoire. He touched the cover and again a soft glow sprung from the book. "You are number one hundred and sixty five I brought it back to me as Asta stepped up.

"Hi I'm Asta from Hage as well!" He shoved his grimoire in the mans face. "Here's my grimoire!"

"Is that really a grimoire?" The man asked as he looked at the blackened cover.

"IT IS!"

"Asta, just let the man do his job." I giggled at Asta's antics.

He touched the cover. "You are number one hundred and sixty six." I went inside of the arena with Asta, so many people were standing inside waiting for their futures to start.

I spotted red, black and white birds flying around as I walked over to Yuno. "Anti magic swallows. The less magic you have the more birds the birds will gather around you." He said as we both turned to Asta. It looked like a whole flock had attacked him as he tried to shoo them away.

"Hey look at those two." I heard some people say as the crowd turned to us, and then I realized, there wasn't a single bird near me or Yuno. "You have to have some amazing magic power for the birds to ignore you."

"Look at that guy, he has so many of them around him." One person said referring to Asta.

"AHha! Get away from me!" Asta started to run away from the birds through the crowd. I rolled my eyes and jogged after him, he ran head first into a large muscular man with messy black hair, a stubble beard. His clothes were black trousers, and stretched out white tank top and a black cloth thrown over one shoulder with a faded gold symbol of a bull's skull. Asta landed on the ground, all the birds flying away from him. "Uh, must of lost them. Oh sorry for running into you." he said as he looked up at the man. A cigarette smoked in his mouth.

'Damn it Asta.' I thought as my brother stood up.

"You here for the magic knights exam, man looks like life hasn't been easy on you." Asta said.

"Tsk." The man grabbed Asta by the top of the head and lifted him off the ground, a dark purple aura filling the air around the man. "You are annoying, die."

Asta yelled in pain for barely a second, I kicked the man in the stomach the force of the kick making him skid back feet tearing up the stones as Asta fell to the ground. "Killing a man in broad daylight. Gutsy I'll admit that." I put up my fists ready for a fight as the crowd made a circle around us.

"You just forced me back?" He looked at the ground, "And yet there wasn't any magic in that attack... yet I can sense your reserves." He stood to his full height the raging purple aura cracking the stones around him.

"Captain there you are." A light brown haired, with a few tips of his hair dyed green stepped up to the man. "We were looking for you." He wore a shoulder cape with the same symbol as the large man, and a green tunic.

Following the brown haired man was one with a pale white face with black lipstick, and eyeshadow, a hat covered his hair and he wore the same shoulder cape as the other man. He whispered something I couldn't make out.

"Tsk, I went to the bath room and got lost." The... captain said.

"Holy shit... I just attacked on of the Magic knight captains." I felt my heart drop, there was no way I was going to be accepted into a squadron now.
