This chapter is brought to you by dragon fruit, which dose not taste as good as it may sound.

"What took you so long?" Charlotte asked, she was flanked by two people, a chocolate skinned woman with short spiky dark brown hair, the blue rose robes, her revealing clothes made me blush deeply as I tried to keep my eyes on the captains face. The second was a plump woman with blonde hair tied back in a handful of tight buns. Her fine clothes were much more modest then her compatriot.

"Had to deal with a creep that wouldn't stop... making advances." I said as I blushed.

"Heh, I like her already. She'll fit right in." The chocolate skinned woman said.

"Well in that case it will be up to you to get her feet under her, Sol." The captain said, brushing a single braid behind her ear. She raised her hand and from the ground plant brambles grew forming brooms. "Let's head to the mansion."

'Mansion!' I thought to my self as I got on the broom.

Chapter: 10 The Blue Roses

I flew along side the Magic knights in the dark of night, my hand up creating a flame in the darkness. "So about your magic." Captain Charlotte flew next to me, the sight of a fully clad night flying on a broom... seeming off for some reason. "You have multiple elements at your control."

"Yes, Elemental Enchantment Magic, or as I say Elemental Enchantment for short. Well I can control fire, water, wind and lightning and imbue items and my self with spells at the expense of my own mana. my armor has two passive spells, a fire spell to keep out the cold at night and a wind defensive spell to hold back weaker attacks." I explained

"Well I haven't heard of magic like that." Sol said as she flew up to my other side. "And the way you took on that fight, mighty impressive."

I looked away with a blush. "Oh, I was just doing what the exam said, but after what happened with Captain Yami, I was sure I had blown it." I said meekly.

"Look on the bright side child, you made it into the magic knights." Angel said as she flew between me and Sol.

"Right. I'm surprised all three of us made it in." I said.

"Three?" Sol asked.

"Oh, my brother's Yuno and Asta. Yuno is the one with the four leaf clover Grimoire, and Asta was accepted into the Black bulls." I said.

"The boy that doesn't have magic power, and the one that joined the Golden Dawn are your siblings." Captain Charlotte said. "I don't really see the family resemblance."

"Well, we all grew up as orphans in the same church." I rubbed the back of my head. "We've always had each others backs. They both want to be the Wizard King."

"You seem fond of them." Captain Charlotte said as we came in for a landing in the courtyard of a large mansion. Waiting were several women. "Everyone, welcome the new recruit."

One by one I was greeted by the women, Borja, Wainsley, Risacca, and a few others. "Nice too meet you all, I am Helen of Hage Village."

"Hage? That's close to the Forsaken Realm." Borja said.

"I know, I had to walk to the capital on foot to make it on time for the exam. I ran out of supplies on the last day of the trip." I said as I said as I held my tail in my hand.

"Helen of Hage village? Why you have grown up since I last seen you." Nearly all the magic knights present jumped in surprise. We all turned to face a man in fine robes, messy blonde hair and violet eyes. "How is Father Orsi and Sister Lily holding up?"

"Oh, Wizard King Julius. I wasn't aware you would be here." I bowed. 'Of course he would be here, given... the last time we met.'

"Sir, if I may ask, how do you two know each other?" Captain Charlotte asked the, the stoic voice had a sliver of edge to it.

The Wizard king laughed, "We met when Hage village was attacked by a massive beast... almost ten years ago now." my eyes dropped remembering that night. "Captain Charlotte, since Helen has such unique magic, I was hoping you would allow me too discuss it with you two. Preferably in your office."

"As you say my lord." She said, a eyebrow raised.

I followed the two my grimoire tight in my grip. The luxurious halls looking like they had been decorated by more gold then was in Hage. We reached the Captains office in which the woman closed the door behind us before sitting behind her desk as she removed her helm. "I thank you Captain, I trust you understand the oddity of the Wizard King addressing a new recruit on her first day."

"Indeed, she has potential, but even then with her oddities there was one with much more warrant for your personal attention." Roselie said as she looked upon us.

"Indeed, for there is a truth you must know about your recruit. All those years ago, it wasn't a wild beast that I battled, but rather it was Helen herself." Julius said.

"What are you talking about?" The captain asked.

"I bear a curse, for you see, when I look upon the full moon I lose all control of my actions and transform into the giant creature that Julius battled." I said. "But I see all that happens, the destruction I bring... the people I kill." I looked down at my feet. "I'll never forget that night."

"You see captain, I had told the Father of her church she would have three paths to life, remaining in Hage all her life, leaving all of civilization behind, or joining the magic knights." Julius said. "As you can guess this secret was kept from the magic knight squads for Helen's safety. For she can not be blamed for what happened that night."

Captain Charlotte ran a hand down her face as she took it. "So she joined the magic knights so that she will be around people that can contain her should she transform again?" She asked.

"Indeed, and in time, I had hoped to break her curse one day, and as she lost her memory as a child the day she arrived at the church due to a accident she has no recollection of who she was or how she was cursed." Julius said with a sorrowful tone.

"I understand." Charlotte stood and turned to the large window. "Helen, you seem to be full of surprises." She turned to a closet on one side of the room while opening her grimoire, from inside the shuttered storage unit out came a rose bramble carrying a blue shoulder robe over to me, emblemed with the symbol of the Blue Roses in gold thread. "You are a Blue Rose Magic Knight. So by my orders you will do your duty, as you swore yourself."

I took the cloth as pulled it over my shoulders, fumbling with the broach for a second. "Thank you. I won't let you down."

"Okay, now that is over, Helen, if you don't mind I have some questions about your magic and grimoire. For I see that it lacks the usual clover instead having a symbol I have never seen before." He said as I looked at the crimson cover. The strange symbol in the leather leaving a strange sense of familiarity every time I looked at it.

"I don't see what so special about it." I said.

"Well, it can be a clue to where you are from." Captain Charlotte said, and I felt stupid for never thinking of that myself. "Perhaps it will lead you to who you truly are."

"Thank you." I said as I looked at the crest.

I sat at the banquet table with the rest of the Blue Roses, I sat next to Sol, and I asked her something that had been bothering me. "Why are there no men?" I asked.

"Oh there are men who serve the Blue Roses as errand boys and servants." Sol explained as we ate our meal, mine a massive plate of vegetables and fruits I didn't know the name of, Puli found my apatite quite amusing. "The mission of the Blue Rose Magic Knights is to bring to the full potential of women mages, and to throw off the idealization of men."

"But doesn't everyone deserve a chance?" I asked. "What dose it matter if you are born as a man or a woman? Magic is magic."

Sol took a breath. "Men as a rule are cruel, you are young and haven't seen their brutish ways."

"Well, Asta is a meat head, but he isn't cruel, and neither is Yuno. I fully support my brothers goals of becoming the wizard king." I said.

"Dear Helen, why don't you seek to become the Wizard King your self?" Puli asked from across the table, and I had the full dining rooms attention.

"I guess... I just want adventure. I mean, if I didn't become a magic Knight I was going to travel the roads on my own." I said, "I never really gave the thought of me being the wizard king much thought. Father always put all his faith in Yuno and his natural born talent, Asta and I had to work hard and train for this. Father didn't think Asta would even pass the exam."

"You see, you had potential but your own Father over looked you, and your weaker brother. That's why the Blue Roses work to uplift the women of the Clover Kingdom." Sol said.

"Asta isn't weak." I said slightly annoyed. "But... your right. Every time Father would praise Yuno, I felt sort of ignored."

"See, from now on, you will show him that you were worthy of praise." Sol gripped my shoulder with a warm smile that made me blush.

"Oh... t-thank you." I said shakily.

"Oh, how cute." Puli said and I stood up.

"I am not cute!" I shouted much to the humor of my comrades.

I was lead down the fine halls after the banquet to my room by Puli. She handed me the key, and opened the door the room was the same size as the church's main room. "This is your room, I hope it's to your liking." She said kindly.

"My... own room?" I walked it, in awe of the beauty. I couldn't believe it, this was all mine. "I've, never had my own room."

"From orphan to magic knight. I'm sure the folks back home would love to hear from you, you should write them a letter and send it in the morning dear Helen." Puli said as she closed the door. "Don't stay up too late, Sol will be giving you an in-depth tour of the mansion."

I sat at the desk, the smooth mahogany surface like silk on my finger tips as I set out a sheet of paper and started to write down a letter.

Dear Everyone,

I did it, I made it into a magic Knight Squad, so has Yuno and Asta. I was accepted by the Blue Roses led by Captain Charlotte Roselie, and I met with the Wizard King again... about my condition. I hope to break my curse while I am here, and I'll send plenty of money back to the church when I am paid. The Blue Roses are all women.

I spent the next hour carefully writing the letter, telling them of the city, the exam. I smirked as I described the encounter with Captain Yami. I left the letter on the table to dry over night before pulling off my armor and dress pulling my dress over my head and slipping my tights off and got onto the bed fully naked pulling the sheets over me, the silk fabric feeling like a soft breeze that wraps around my body with my head of down pillows. But sleep would not come to me easily, eventually I untied the cloth from my arm and tied it over my eyes, even though it wasn't the full moon tonight. Whenever I slept on my own I would tie cloth covering my eyes so that I wouldn't transform.

Slowly the soft embrace of sleep over took me.

But it would only bring more questions.

I floated over a camp site, two figures in the center of a crater blasted area bloodied corpses torn asunder at their bottoms, a fire lighting the area. "Stay with me." A man's voice said.

"I... fought as long as I could... my... lord." A woman's voice said as she she reached up the the man's face, her armor was covered in blood and scorch marks.

"No, no, no. I'm not losing you as well. Totoma Stay with me. I order to pull through. I know I was late, but..."

"Shhh, find her. Find our daughter." She said as everything faded to black, then a dark voice entered my mind.

"I know what you are, monster." The voice of what I could only describe as the Devil tore open my soul.

I sat up in a cold sweat tearing off the blind fold as I ran to the mirror, starlight filling the room as I breathed hard. "What the hell?" I gasped as I tired to dry myself. I looked into the mirror, my onyx eyes framed by my obsidian hair. 'What the hell was that?'

Well... that happened.
