"I'm Helen, Asta's older sister." I said. "If you don't mind me asking, what... was that?" I asked.

"Stuck up Royal that doesn't know to appreciate how good she has it!" Magna yelled.

"Oh, so you came my beauty?" I instinctively kicked back before I turned around, Finral was knocked out upside down in a tree with my foot print imprinted into his face.

"I'm sorry!" I blushed as I rushed to get him down.

"That happen often?" Magna asked Asta.

"No, not really. People don't flirt with Helen back home." Asta admitted for me as the green dressed night fell out of the tree... just missing my arms and hitting the ground.

"I... I'll just go." I said as I grabbed my broom and flew off. "I have to meet up with Sol."

Chapter 12: First Mission

It has been just a few days since I had arrived at the Blue Rose mansion, I sat in the library as I read books about unique Grimoire emblems. 'If I can find a person with the same, or a similar grimoire as me... it could be a hint.' I thought as I turned the parchment pages the ink and illustrations of grimoires faded with time. I went down the page, 'A nine hundred years ago there was a pair of strange mages... with a strange beast magics and enchantment magic.' I read the aged ink. 'Info of these mages are scare claiming to be from the Kingdom of Sadala, a Kingdom with no known location.'

I read down a few more paragraphs 'The names of theses mages were Yamoshi the Golden Ape and the dark Mage a being he simply called the Evil Saiyan. It is Unknown what Saiyan meant if it was a form of Devil. The legend of their battle has faded over time but one notable feature was... that they had tails.'

"What..." I looked for anymore mention of these mages, and I found another book detailing the legend. I went through the book looking for any description of their grimoires but I couldn't find any. "Tails..."

"Helen!" I banged my my knees on the table as Sol called out to me. "I have news, I have your first mission, come with me." she said as I picked up my grimoire with my tail.

"All right." I said as I followed the woman, my face red as I tried to focus on her face. "Do you have any idea what is?" I asked.

"Captain Charlotte has the details." Sol said as we went through the halls leading me to the Captains office. Inside the armored captain sat in front of a map with a report and mission letter on her desk.

"Hello, I'm sending you two out on a mission. Now normally new recruits would handle wild animals and weaker monsters, but this is a special case. A group of bandits has taken up residence in the woods near Hage village and we have been given a request to take them out. Normally the Azure Deer' or Black Black Bulls would handle a mission like this."

"You are sending me because I know the land?" I asked.

"Yes, and the fact we don't know where there camp proper is and without a proper guide we may never find it. This band is known for kidnapping young girls and selling them off as slaves to the Diamond Kingdom. I don't know if any Diamond mages will be aiding the bandits, but we have no evidence to support that claim, or to disprove it." Charlotte said.

I nodded as I looked at the map of the area surrounding Hage. Most of the kidnappings had been marked and condensed in one main part of the road, "If I had to guess their main camp would be in this general part of the woods," I circled a large area of a nearby forest to the road, "It has plentiful game, wild fruit and berries, and if you know your way through the game paths you can navigate with ease. Since there are closer woods then that one the towns folk don't go there for fire wood often." I explained.

"I see I picked the right woman for the job. You two leave immediately. You should reach Hage by night fall." We both saluted before turning and leaving. We grabbed brooms and took off from the store room and took off as fast as we could.

"Sooo... you know any traveling songs?" Sol asked.

I just smirked.

It was a long day of flying and the sun was setting over the horizon with the half moon to our east when we came down upon Hage, we hadn't had any issue with reaching the village, "We'll start the investigation in the morning, let's head to the inn."

"Ummm, I'm sort of... banned from the inn." I admitted.

She raised a eyebrow. "What did you do?"

"Well, because of my tail, most of the people in the village don't like me, see me as bad luck and all that." I said as we walked along the road. We heard a door close and when we looked over from the window was a woman. "We'll spend the night in my church. I know it isn't much, but it's where I grew up." I led her to the edge of town where Nash and the girls were doing laundry with sister Lily. "Hello." I called out. The children turned on the spot and ran to me.

"Big sis!" They cheered as I knelt down to hug them picking up the girls in my arm as Nash walked over, the same look on his face as when I had left.

"Helen!" Sister Lily smiled as she walked over. "You should have sent a letter letting us know you were coming. And who's your friend?"

"I'm happy to see you all as well, this is Sol Marron, she's showing me the ropes of being a magic Knight." I said as the door of the church slammed open.

"HELEN!" Father rushed me with tears in his eyes. I let him hug.

"So you do care." I said sarcastically as I hugged him back. "It's nice to see you, but we have been flying all day."

"Of course, come in." Sister Lily said as we followed her inside. "I know you won't have as much as you normally do Helen, but I'm sure you understand why."

"I understand, and when I get paid once I get back I'll send the church money." I said as we all sat down.

"This is a rather homely church." Sol said as Father put out the plates of pot potatoes, pies, baked, fried.

"It is now that Asta isn't here." Nash said, his usual distaste missing

"Oh, you can't hide it Nash, you miss him." I teased.

"S-shut up!" He said, much to Sol's amusement.

We all laughed as we dug in. "So Sol, Helen hasn't been a issue?" Sister Lily asked as her eyes fell on the white cloth tied around my arm.

"Well aside for the terrible singing." Sol glared at me, while the children knew the truth.

"Yes... that." Father said. "Sister Lily and I spent years trying to teach her how to sing..."

"Singing just isn't my thing." I shrugged with a smirk.

We ate in silence for a moment. "So big sis, what brings you home?" Little Hollo asked

"Oh, we were sent to deal with bad people harming travelers." I said.

"Oh that bandits, I had heard rumors of them, that haven't harmed the village, but trade has slowed down." Father said. "Food outside of pot potatoes is getting short."

"I heard they capture cute girls." Nash said. "Perhaps one of you should let yourself get captured and be brought right to the camp."

I scratched my chin, "You know, that could wo... I am not cute you little!"

"Wait Helen, he might be onto something." Sol said, "Bring you right to their camp."

"Me?" I asked.

"Well it is your mission, I'm just here to observe you." Sol smirked.

I stood on the road out, in a bright green dress with deep v neck that went down to my belly button that I insisted be tied closed with small bow ties, a pair of thigh high boots, my grimoire in a pouch slung from my shoulder, my hair actually tamed and brushed down. "Oh my, you look so cute." Sol contained her laughter.

"I will get you all back for this." I felt humiliated.

"Right, so it's your goal to get captured, brought to their camp and find their leader and beat them all." Sol smiled. "I'll follow as close as I can."

"Because this totally can't go horribly wrong." I huffed before Sol tied a large coin purse to my belt

"Just a bit of extra bait." She said before she got on her broom and flew off. I shouldered a large pack and started walking down the road.

Well, nothing can go wrong from this.
