We flew back to headquarters, Sol insisting that I ride on her broom. "You said your self you drank a lot. I don't want you falling out of the sky. now quite being stubborn and hold onto me." She made me hold her around the waist as my broom dangled from a rope. "We're almost there."
When we landed she quickly reported the... victory over the Captain of the Black Bulls, I swear she almost had a blush to her cheeks at the mention of him. "I must say, beginners luck was certainly in your favor. You keep surprising me. Now go rest up." She ordered and Sol brought me to her room where she just took off her blue roses robe.
"It's late, so we'll change in the morning. Come lay down on the bed." Sol said... and for some reason I listened. I curled into a small ball my tail wrapped around me as she got under the covers with me.
"Goodnight." She said before closing her eyes.
I took a few breaths before I relaxed and got in close to her, much to Sol's surprise.
"What are you..."
"Tell anyone, and... I'll... I'll." I didn't know what to say, my face burning red.
"Oh... I see." Sol smiled. "That explains a lot."
Chapter 16: Black Bulls and Blue Roses
I rolled over rubbing my eyes trying to remember the previous day. "Why is my head pounding?" I asked myself.
"That would be the booze." Came a unexpected response as I slowly turned my head to look at Sol. "So you are finally awake Helen." In a instant it all came back to me, my face burning up instantly. "I now understand more about you."
'I... slept in her room... I've known her for little over a week and...' My mind was starting to burn up as well.
She sat down next to me. "There isn't any shame. So what if you don't like guys?"
"If I ever admit this to Asta and Yuno there will be no end of teasing!" I covered my face in embarrassment. "Please don't tell anyone!"
"There there, If you don't want people to know, I won't tell them." She gave me a hug around my shoulders. "I wouldn't want to harm my little recruit like that."
"Y-your recruit?" I asked.
"Hey, it's up to me that you get going here, you may be a blushing new recruit. But you have potential, it would take a fool to miss it. Now Let's get you cleaned up before Yami show's up to clean." She took my had and pulled me along. After grabbing a new set of clothes from my room, a knee length plain blue dress and green leggings we went to the baths where I wanted to escape under water as I washed my hair. "Oh it's all tangled again." Sol took the brush from the edge as stared to work the knots out of my long black spikes that went down to my tail that fruitlessly tried to keep my modesty.
"That feels weird!" I protested as wanted to push her hand away.
"Come on. It isn't that bad." She quickly brushed the rest of the knots out. "No need to be a baby about it."
I gust grumbled as washed my tail. "Your lucky were the only ones in here." I muttered before flicked my finger and a splash of water hit her in the face.
"Hey! What was that for!"
"I said I would get you back for dolling me up." I grinned as I used my magic to splash her again.
"Oh, that's how it is?" She splashed me while we laughed for a good five minutes splashing each other like kids before we got out and dried off. "You are so childish."
"What do you expect? I'm a monkey person." I quickly got dressed.
"Would you look at that, you are a Blue Rose." She poked fun at the color scheme of my clothes, and I again blushed.
"Hmmhrmm." I mumbled something even I couldn't make out.
We left the baths to head to the courtyard when a silver glowing opened and out stepped Asta, Yami, Finral and the royal girl. "I see you were expecting us." Yami took a puff from his cigarette. "Well you three get to work." He ordered before sitting down at one of the tables, Captain Charlotte coming out to see what was going on.
"Hang on!" I called him out, "Our deal was that you would do the cleaning!"
"You never said I couldn't get help. And I'm supervising them, making sure they do it right." He chuckled as he smoked away.
As Finral and Asta got to work the white and purple wearing royal stood there. "This is servants work." She said before turning to me.
"Come on Noelle! You have to do something!" Asta called her over.
"I'm royal. I've never cleaned a thing in my life." Noelle said. "Stupid Asta, why don't you get that."
I glared at her as I shoved past her. "What was that for! I'm a royal of the Silva family."
"Nobles, Royals, all the same to me, families that horde to much power, and hold down the people that allow them to live as they do." I said coldly as Asta got between me and her.
"Hey now, Helen. Noelle isn't like that." Asta said quickly.
I took a breath. "All right, I'll give her a chance. I'm Helen, Asta's sister." There was still a edge to my voice.
"Noelle Silva." She said. "I'm a new Recruit just like your... charming brother." She said.
I just shook my head as my tail curled behind me. "No need to lie about it. Asta is... Asta."
"Get to work!" Yami called out as he made Finral scrub the floors with his cheek and boot on the other cheek.
"Yes sir!" Asta rushed off as I turned around from Noelle.
"Sol, I'll be in the library." I said.
"Um... is this tail real? It's so..." Noelle said before a pain raced from my tail all the way through my body. I hit the floor before anyone could catch me. "What? Are you alright!" Her grip tightened.
"Let... go." I growled.
The moment she let go of my tail I yanked it away from her. "I'm sorry."
"Don't touch my tail again." I got up and stormed away.
I watched as my sister stormed off. I walked over to Noelle. "Sorry I should have warned you, Helen's tail is really... sensitive and for your own safety never call her cute. She hates that."
"But what she said about Royals and Nobles." She said, "It sounded like hatred."
"Oh, a few years ago the Noble's children in our Village tried to run her out of town with magic. She was just minding her own business when they attacked her." I knew why they attacked her, it wasn't long after... that day. "She ran all the way to the church crying, it took Sister Lily all night to figure out what had happened. Since that day Helen has had a chip on her shoulder about people who abuse their power over others."
"But... she didn't do anything, why would they attack her?" Noelle asked.
"They felt threatened, she's always had immense magic power especially when compared to most people in the village even as a child. And her tail just made her stranger, several families wanted Father to just leave her in the woods saying she was just a cursed child." She looked at me. "She... just hides it well most of the time."
Hey.
