"A dedicated sibling indeed." Marx said. "Helen, I am sure you know this, but you haven't fully recovered your old memories, it's a miracle you recovered what you did." The man said. "Your birth name is Kamla. A warrior to a race known as the Saiyans who live on a world with a blood red sky." He said as he created images of a white stone and metal city with red skies and red water ways in the middle of a crater filled desert.
"That is my home..." I said as I looked at the still image.
"There is another detail we found in the scraps of your memories. Two words, but no image or person to go with it." Marx said. "Princess Kamla. You were born a Royal Helen."
Chapter 35: Spies meeting
I sat on the edge of the bed. "A royal... then... why was I? Who are my..." I looked at my Grimoire. That had to be the symbol of my people... my Kingdom.
Asta put a hand on my shoulder. "Your the same old Helen to me sis." He smiled. "You will always be you. I never cared if you were or weren't human. It just means I have to work even harder to surpass you to become the Wizard King and make sure you are safe."
Tears welled up in my eyes as I grabbed him in a hug. "You damn idiot." 'Thank you...'
"Ahem." Marx cleared his throat. "Asta, we would like your help, as the Eye of the midnight Sun Member we have captured are under spells to ensure their loyalty to their leader."
"With your Anti Magic, we can undo those spells and get the information." Julius finished. "Helen you can stay here and recover."
I nodded and laid back down. "Thank you, Wizard King."
Three people gathered in a secret chamber beneath the Royal Capitol. A Giant Beast of a man with a black mane of hair and a scar over one white eye, the other onyx eye looking at his companions. His ragged burlap pants caked with mud and bare feet contrasting the finely made crimson robe with insignia of a crowned lion. "Where is Lemos? Is she even taking her duty seriously anymore?"
A woman in a green robe with the symbol of the Praying Mantis pushed a thick pair of glasses back up the bridge of her nose, wavy green hair spilled down her shoulders as heavy bags hung under her eyes. "I-I-I'm starting to t-t-think we n-need to take her in. Ever s-since she joined the A-Azure D-Deer, she has lowered her communication with u-us."
The last one was a heavy set man with a deep purple hair, hands and arms encrusted with gold rings, and precious amulets hung from his fat neck, a purple robe lazily draped over one shoulder as it couldn't get around the other. "I see captain Jack has been running you ragged Abagail. Luna is in the city giving her report to Aaron. But we all know it has to do with the Saiyan girl. What is she think coming to the surface with a half assed disguise. I mean she doesn't even hide her tail."
"Your one to talk Barnabas, you stand out worse then a beggar licking a king's dog's paws for scraps of food given the amount of gold you wear. And we know none of those are magic items." The beast of a man growled, veins on his muscular arms popping out as he clenched his fists.
"Oh, Judas, I'm so glad you noticed." Barnabas laughed, but it wasn't shared by his compatriots. Just then Judas tilted his head as a source of light filled part f the chamber.
"I see Lemos has failed to report in, again." A man's voice called out as the image cleared, a chamber with six seats and seven statues behind them depicting fur clad warriors with tails, the statues painted in full color, different skin colors, patterns of furs Six of the statues stood behind chairs but the central seventh stood alone, a statue of a man with a crimson head of hair and a red tail arcing around him, sitting on a set of stairs leading to the raised dais was a man, years pulling at his semi angular face. "No matter, I'll deal with her insubordination myself. We have a larger issue. Helen, the girl is a pureblood. And she wields the attack of one of our ancestors greatest enemies, the Galick Gun."
"I-I-I t-thought they died with the old kingdom. What i-i-is she doing h-here?" Abagail put a hand to her mouth.
"From Luna's report, it is believed that this Helen is a non threat on her own, appearing to be a kind and caring person. But her being around humans has started to raise questions, and with the recent events for now I want you to monitor her from a distance. If an occasion comes about where we can take her to the city with none of her allies around, take that opportunity." He ordered.
"We'll carry out your orders commander. I trust you are investigating the Eye of the Midnight sun on your end." Judas said as he turned to leave. "A man was struct down, a great flame for this kingdom. If these terrorists are using the name of our fallen ally as a ploy, they will suffer The Children of the Six's rage."
In the dungeon, the captains stood around the prisoners with Asta. "The magic knights who were helping the Midnight sun were Purple Orcas Captain Gueldre Poizot and intermediate magic knight third class Barnabas Romne. They are the ones that allowed for the capture of the mages responsible for the capitols defense." The haggard witch spilled out under Marx's truth spell.
The captains turned to their thick necked colleague. "Wait, no this has to be a set up." He stepped back. "I'll prove it."
"Then allow us to examine your memory." Marx said as he stood next to Asta and Julius.
"I'm sorry, but Marx's magic has never been wrong Gueldre." Wizard King Julius replied. "Where is Barnabas?"
Asta was the first one too act when the Purple Orcas Captain went invisible. Quickly sensing out his ki. "You can't run!" He shouted as he swung his smaller blade, cutting away the captain's magic.
"Picture magic: Spring of Restriction!" The young captain of the Azure deer magic knights, Rill Boismortier. His paint brush and grimoire glowed with magic. "I think I will call this one 'A Captain Trapped in Paradise.'" He said as he looked at the magical painting that held the traitorous captain.
"Well, you wanted to clear your name, that stunt did not do you any favors." Captain Yami took a drag from his cigarette.
I sat in Charlottes office with Sol. "So our mission is to find this Barnabas Romne should we come across him?" I asked. I had heard about the capture of the the obese magic knight.
"Yes, ever since the warrant was put out for him, he has vanished. It was like he knew, all his money, belongings, and a large part of even Gueldre's money have vanished. His illusion magic making locating him next to impossible." Charlotte looked out the window. "What a disgusting pig of a man, I've only had the displeasure of being in the same room as his a few times. There have been rumors around him since he joined the Purple Orca's five years ago, he seemed to be respectable, but his greed and gluttonous nature soon reared their ugly heads in him. Extorting commoners for money, trafficking's illicit goods, but the numerous investigations turned up nothing. We now know why. His captain was covering for him as they were profiting from the crimes they were charged with ending."
Hey, sorry for the delay, and that this chapter isn't the longest. I just found out one of my friends have caught covid. So a lot of my time has been spent texting him to make sure he's okay. I hope you all stay safe, so that we can all live through this together.
