To all of my readers, it's been a while. So, I'm sure you're surprised that after a long absence from posting something on this site, that the first thing I post is not something Digimon-related. This is actually an idea that I've had in my head for a few months now. I have been a Transformers fan ever since I was in grade school, and over the last couple of years (especially last year) I have come to see many great anime, from Cowboy Bebop to Fullmetal Alchemist to Code Geass, to the other half of this crossover: Neon Genesis Evangelion. After seeing fanart and learning of a crossover miniseries between these two franchises, I've decided to write out this story. I was planning on waiting until next year to do this story, but after watching End of Evangelion, which finally wrapped up this year after a nine-year wait from the last movie, and the news of the newest Transformers movie coming out next year (with characters from Beast Wars set to appear), I felt now was the time. For Transformers, I will mostly be using the Generation 1 characters and models, but there will be some small elements from other continuities. And Evangelion will be taking cues mostly from the original anime, but also some cues from the manga, Rebuild and a couple of the video games.

So, with all of that said, it's time to start this story, and what better way to start something Evangelion-related than with one of the most iconic anime opening themes ever: A Cruel Angel's Thesis, by Yoko Takahashi.

Chapter 1: Arrival from Another World

Space. A deep, infinite void of darkness, illuminated by billions upon billions of stars. In this void, there would appear to be no life at all at first glance. Unknown to many though, there was life in the galaxy that had yet to meet with each other. However, a meeting between two different races of life would happen very soon. A meeting that would change the universe as we know it.

In the center of the Solar System, a small collection of planets and moons, with one sun in the center providing warmth. However, despite the many planetoids in this system, there was only one planet that was able to sustain life, or rather, whatever life remained after a horrific tragedy that happened fifteen years ago. Flying past the moon of this planet was a massive golden ship capable of carrying nearly a million people. However, the current occupants of the ship were not human, but giant robots that hailed from another planet far away from the Solar System. On the bridge of the ship were a quartet of robots sitting in chairs, looking over the screens and manning the controls that allowed them to pilot the ship. While two of them did their duty without much complaint, the other two were not so pleased with the work they were given.

"Dear Primus, this is boring!" Ironhide, a red and black Autobot groaned as he leaned forward, putting a hand on his head. "Every time I sit in this chair and look at a monitor or radar, I can just feel my circuits sizzling!"

"I'm with you Ironhide," replied Brawn, a brown and green Autobot. Despite being smaller than Ironhide, he gave off an air that suggested he was stronger than he looked. "It's been a long time since we busted some Decepti-chops!"

"Enough of the whining, you two!" Prowl, a white Autobot who was one of the Autobots' top security chiefs, snapped from his place. "This job isn't that bad if you think about it."

"Speak for yourself Prowl," Brawn groaned. "You've always been more suited with security. Ironhide and I are warriors! We should be finding the Decepticons and kicking them to the Pit!"

"I agree," Ironhide said. "Three years ago, we managed to get a critical blow on Megatron when we trashed his place on Chaar, and he's been on the run since then. We got a big advantage, and we should have capitalized on it!"

"I would have to strongly disagree," replied Ratchet. The medical officer had been silent up till then, more focused on his piloting duty. "Yes, we did cripple the Decepticons quite well with the Chaar Strike, but it came at the cost of losing many of our fellow Autobots, and the Ark has been needing sporadic repairs since then from the damage it suffered. And as you mentioned Ironhide, the Chaar Strike was three years ago, which will have definitely been enough time for Megatron to gather his remaining Decepticons and establish a new base of operations."

"But not enough time to reorganize into the big threat he was before," Brawn added. "Hopefully we can find him and his goon squad so I can kick some tailpipe."

"Even so Brawn, neither you nor Ironhide are as young as you used to be," Ratchet added. "Honestly, the number of times I've had you in my medical bays…"

"You're definitely one to talk about being old Ratchet," Prowl chuckled, despite his usual no-nonsense attitude. "You and Ironhide have been around as long as Optimus, which is very long." A loud banging noise suddenly caught the quartet's attention, ringing throughout the ship.

"What was that, another one of Grimlock's sparring sessions?" asked Brawn.

"No, I don't think so," Ratchet replied, checking a screen that showed the layout of the Ark. What he saw made him grimace. "Scrap! Get Optimus up here!"

Several minutes passed before the door that served as the entrance and exit to the Ark's bridge opened up, and in walked a trio of Autobots. On the left was Elita-One, a light pink Autobot who was one of the Autobots' highest ranked Autobots. Ultra Magnus, a big Autobot that was primarily blue and white, with hints of red, and was another high-ranking Autobot commander, was on the right. And in the center of the group stood Optimus Prime, a red and blue Autobot that stood tall above the other Autobots currently on the bridge. As the leader of the Autobots, his very presence exuded an air of authority and respect, along with compassion.

"What is the situation, Ratchet?" Optimus asked, walking up to the quartet.

"Nothing very good, Optimus," Ratchet said with a grimace. "I take it you heard that loud banging a few minutes ago?"

"I'm pretty sure everybody did," Elita replied. "Must be another one of the Dinobots' sparring sessions."

"That's what I thought as well," said Brawn. "Unfortunately, it's worse."

"Worse how?" inquired Ultra Magnus.

"It's the engines," Prowl reported, putting up a 3-D image of the Ark on the main screen for everybody to see. The picture was mainly blue, but the place where the Ark's engines were blinking a bright red. "There's some sort of fluctuation in them, and it's causing us to lose some speed." Optimus, Elita, and Magnus grimaced at the news. If the engines of the Ark died down, then they would be stuck in space. While they did have smaller ships in the docking bays, the Ark was their most important ship, and any long-term damage would be bad news.

"We contacted the engineering team," said Ironhide, "and they should be done looking them over."

"Get in touch with them," Optimus ordered. Seconds later, the image of the Ark was replaced with the face of Hoist, one of the Autobots' top engineering experts.

"Hoist, what is the situation with the engines?" asked Optimus.

"It's between good and bad Optimus," Hoist answered. "Those cores we procured from Oderaan weren't exactly new. A few of them have shorted out and we can't replace them. One of them practically exploded. Fortunately, Inferno and Hot Spot were able to extinguish the flames before they spread to the rest of the engines. It can be repaired, but it will take some considerable time. Red Alert is really not happy about the damage."

"When is Red Alert ever happy?" Ironhide snarked. "Can we at least reach Earth?"

"Yes, I believe so," said Hoist. "Not all of the engines suffered damage."

"Ratchet, how long until we reach Earth?" Elita asked the medical officer. Ratchet turned his attention to his screen and made the calculations before reporting.

"A few hours at best. We'll need to have Hoist give you a proper estimated time with Wheeljack and Perceptor."

"Then let's call them up," Ironhide pushed a button on his console to call their chief scientists. The bridge was soon joined by Wheeljack, a white Autobot with green and red highlights, and Perceptor, a red Autobot with a giant rod-like device resting on his left shoulder.

"So, how long do you think it will be until we reach Earth?" Elita asked the two Autobots.

"At current calculations, we should be able to reach our destination in about…12.49 hours," Wheeljack said, looking up from a pad in his hand. The two flat squares on the sides of his head flashed bright blue every time he spoke.

"Will we need to land immediately once we reach Earth?" asked Ultra Magnus. "And is there a possible place where we can land safely? The planet is still heavily populated, despite the events that have happened there the past fifteen years."

"Not immediately," Perceptor reported. "As Wheeljack said, we will be able to reach Earth in around twelve hours in our current condition. Fortunately, we'll be able to keep the Ark afloat for at least twenty and a half hours. Provided we do not see any combat."

"As much as I would love a good fight," Brawn said, "that wouldn't be a good idea."

"Same here," Ironhide chimed in. He and Brawn were always eager for fighting, and while the absence of one bugged them to no end, they knew better than to get in one if there were huge risks involved. And losing the Ark was risk they wouldn't take.

"Then proceed at the best speed we can go at without straining the engines even more," said Optimus. "If we have another engine problem, then we may have to evacuate the Ark. Perceptor, tell Jazz and Jetfire to have Omega Supreme, Sky Lynx and the shuttles on standby in case the situation arises."

"I shall inform them immediately," Perceptor said, turning on his heel and exiting the bridge.

"In that case, I should have Blurr and Hound help me in gathering essential materials," Wheeljack added, leaving the bridge himself. Once the scientist was gone, Optimus turned to Ironhide, Brawn, Ratchet, and Prowl.

"Continue forward, but do not go faster than necessary," he ordered.

"No problem," Prowl acknowledged. "What's our current destination?"

"New York, to the United Nations," Optimus answered as he prepared to leave the bridge with Elita and Magnus.

"Well, at least we'll eventually reach somewhere where we can stretch our legs," said Ironhide, looking back at his screen. "More boredom until then."

"No need for boredom anymore, Ironhide!" a loud, excited voice sounded on the bridge. Ironhide and Ratchet immediately groaned as they, along with Brawn and Prowl, looked to see the red-and-yellow communications officer Blaster walk onto the bridge, a big smile on his face as always.

"Blaster, please!" Brawn rubbed the bridge of his nose in annoyance. "The last time you played music from a planet we stopped at, it took me and Ironhide a week to properly hear again!"

"It took Kup three weeks," said Ironhide. "Seriously, he's older than all of us combined!"

"That's a bit of an exaggeration," Ratchet said with a roll of his optics, until he took a slight pause. "And yet…I feel a strong compulsion to say that is slightly true."

"Okay, maybe that was a bad choice for music," Blaster chuckled nervously. As much as he loved to play music, much to his superiors' annoyance at times, even he had to admit that some of his choices in tracks were not up to his standards. "But, Jazz and I checked out the music on this planet when we entered satellite range. And let me tell you, some of this music jams! Just listen to this track we found from the country of Japan!" With a few shifts and changes, Blaster transformed into a boombox with a handle. "All right Steeljaw, hit that music!" A few seconds later, the golden cassette in Blaster's chest began playing a tune that echoed throughout the bridge.

Walking in a crowd

Through a faceless town

I need to feel the touch of a friend

"Okay, I have to admit," Brawn said with a chuckle. "That sounds better."

"Whatever," Ratchet said with a sigh. He had long given up on trying to convince Blaster to not play music when on duty. "Just try not to blow out our audio receptors this time."

"Still doesn't make it better for me," Ironhide sighed, growing bored already with looking at the screen again. As the veteran Autobot prepared for another dull routine, he felt a pair of slender light blue arms wrap around his frame.

"Then maybe I can make it better?" Ironhide chuckled at the voice, looking over his shoulder to see his girlfriend Chromia looking at her with a small grin on her face.

"When do you not make it better?" the old Autobot asked, returning the grin himself.

"Chromia, if you're going to be up on the bridge, at least help out," Prowl sighed. "Ironhide is still on duty right now."

"Okay," Chromia said, sliding into a chair between Ironhide and Brawn. "Don't worry boys, just a few more hours until we can have some fun!"

Optimus, Elita, and Ultra Magnus had exited a lift that took them down three levels below the bridge when they came across an Autobot that stood at least a head taller than the Prime himself, adorned in white, blue, and red armor, with a helmet tucked under his arm that resembled Optimus' head, revealing a smaller head. This was Star Saber, the second-in-command of the Autobots, and one of Optimus' most trusted soldiers.

"Star Saber, have the preparations been made?" Optimus asked once he reached the warrior.

"Yes Optimus," Star Saber said with a salute. "We have everything sorted out in case an emergency evacuation is needed."

"Good," Optimus nodded. "It hurts that we may have to abandon the Ark, but too many Autobots have been lost already to this war with the Decepticons. I will not put any more lives at risk. With the ships we have in the bays, as well as Omega Supreme and Sky Lynx, we can survive if necessary."

"And with this new planet we're reaching, we'll be able to find new resources," Star Saber added. "Optimus, are you certain that the Decepticons may target this planet next?"

"I am positive," Optimus answered, walking with his first lieutenant. They stopped at a nearby window, where Optimus gazed out at the planet before him. At this distance, Earth seemed quite beautiful with its green lands and blue waters. However, he also noticed the southern part of the globe was dyed a bright red, as if Earth was suffering from a deep bleeding wound that couldn't be fully healed. "Earth is the only planet in this solar system that is rich with energy; energy that Megatron could use to rebuild his army. What's more, is this planet and its inhabitants have suffered greatly in the last fifteen years, given what Wheeljack, Blaster, and Nightbeat read about Earth's history. I refuse to let Megatron destroy what is left of this planet for his twisted desires."

"Of course, Megatron is not the only threat we will have to worry about," Magnus noted. "Based on what Nightbeat was able to get from communications between the nations of this world, something just as destructive as the Decepticons is fast approaching."

"That I am aware of as well, Magnus," Optimus replied. "Which is why our first objective upon reaching Earth's atmosphere is to establish contact with the governments of this world and negotiate an alliance with the humans. If we succeed, then we should be able to fight two wars at once."

"Key word being if," Elita said. "Given this planet's history with otherworldly beings, they could just finish off the Ark with a strike."

"Which is why we should prepare to make contact," Magnus said, turning for the turbolift. "I'll tell Blaster to prepare communications. At the very least, it should provide relief for the bridge crew." As Magnus left the area, Optimus gazed out at the window again to look at Earth, thinking to himself as he did so.

'Megatron, for too long this galaxy has suffered under your terror. But it will soon come to an end. This planet is where you will answer for your crimes against Cybertron, and against all of the galaxy.'

In a United States army base, several soldiers on monitor duty, keeping an eye out for any potential threats in the sky. Following the tragedy of Second Impact, conflict broke out in nearly every country in the world, with the people and corrupt politicians attempting to take advantage of the chaos. Eventually the United Nations was able to quell the conflicts and have the populace in a state of semi-normality. The members of the UN stated that in the wake of a major event, the need to be united together was necessary, especially with the reports they were given from a fledgling organization, warning them of the possibility of another event like Second Impact. As the organization began working on special weapons that would allow them to combat this threat, the armies of the world were on high alert, waiting for anything slightly unusual.

Before long, one private started when he heard a loud beep on his radar. Looking at the screen, his eyes widened at what he saw.

"General!" he called to his superior. "You might want to see this!" The general briskly walked to the private, looking at the screen. His eyes narrowed at the size of the object on the radar, which looked big enough to fit in the palm of his hand.

"What is this, Private?" he asked. "Is it one of ours?"

"No sir," the private answered, looking at the screen as well. "It's too big to be one of our regular air transports, and we have no scheduled departures or arrivals."

"We got ourselves a bogey then," said the general. "Any possible origins?"

"I think so sir," the private typed on the screen. What he saw made his face nearly pale. "It…it looks like it came…from space."

"Space?" the general felt his face lose color from the answer. He had read the reports of Second Impact, and what was likely to come. If they were true… "Get all of our forces ready for battle! And contact any other countries that can offer their aid!"

"General!" a corporal manning the communications called out. "We're receiving a communication…from the object?"

"What?!" the general asked, his face now forming into a look of confusion.

"Should I put it through?" asked the corporal. The general contemplated for a moment. If it was this threat they were warned about, then they should just shoot it out of the sky and prevent another Impact. However, another part of him said to answer it.

"Put it through." At the order of his superior, the corporal put the call on speaker, allowing everyone to hear the conversation.

"Unidentified aircraft, you are in a restricted United States airspace. Identify yourself or be shot down!" the general called out to the object. For a few moments there was no response. Soon, a deep voice sounded through the speaker.

"Greetings. My name is Optimus Prime. I am the leader of the Autobots, from the planet Cybertron."

'Autobots? Cybertron?' the general thought in minor surprise. 'NERV's files said that the enemy would be called 'Angels', and their place of origin was unknown. Is there something else going on here?' His curiosity growing more, the general answered to the voice. "Tell me…'Optimus Prime'…what intention do you have contacting us?"

"We are not here with any hostile intentions," the voice replied. "We have come in peace, and we wish to speak with the United Nations."

'In peace?' the general thought in bewilderment. Honestly, he was tempted to just order an N2 to be shot at the aircraft and be done with it, but there was something in the voice of the caller named Optimus Prime that felt calm, soothing, and reassuring. Something that told the old soldier that was he was saying was the truth.

"If what you are saying is true…then we will allow you to proceed to your destination. We shall contact the United Nations and inform them of your arrival."

"We thank you for your cooperation," Optimus Prime responded before the call ended.

"General, are you sure this is a good idea?" the corporal asked with a skeptical look. "What if this is some kind of hoax? What if these…Autobots…are the enemy we were warned about?"

"I'm sure this isn't a hoax," the general answered. "I was born during World War Two and I fought in Vietnam and the Gulf War, and when you've been in combat for that long, you can tell what kind of people can be trusted and can't be. And whoever this Optimus Prime is…I believe he can be trusted. Contact the UN and let them know of the arrival."

Two hours later at the United Nations building, everything was abuzz as everybody present was awaiting for the arrivals they were informed of coming by the military base in Arizona. The police stationed there stood ready for what was about to come. As the moments passed, the air grew more tense with anticipation for these unknown arrivals. Several jets also flew overhead, having been informed that the arrivals would be in some kind of large aircraft. Before long, a massive shape appeared over the United Nations building. What everybody assembled saw made all of their jaws drop. The aircraft was a gigantic golden ship that was far, far more big than any of the biggest aircraft carriers in the world. It looked big enough to fit in at least half of New York City.

As the humans around the United Nations building looked at the ship in awe, they didn't notice yet two smaller aircraft flying out of the golden ship. When they finally noticed one of them, they saw that it resembled a white space shuttle from NASA, with a massive blue block attached to the bottom. The shuttle flew down to the building, landing in front of the assembled policemen. The rear end of the shuttle opened up and a ramp came down. The humans looked on in confusion when they saw a red Peterbilt roll out of the shuttle, along with a pink sports car and a car carrier truck. The second aircraft, which appeared to be a red jet with a large white body attached to its rear end, hovered over the shuttle.

"Excuse me!" a policeman was the first to step forward, calling to the vehicles. "Are you the…arrivals…we were told of?"

"Yes, we are," a deep voice came from the red truck.

"Can we ask why you're driving a truck when you just came out of a shuttle?" the policeman asked.

"Allow me to show you," replied the truck 'driver'. "Autobots…TRANSFORM!" In a sudden movement of shifting gears, the truck transformed into a red and blue robot that towered over all of the humans, who immediately backed away.

"WHA-WHA-WHA…WHAT IN THE WORLD?!" the policeman yelled in surprise as the sports car, car carrier, and jet transformed into robots as well of varying sizes and appearances. The next thing anyone knew, the shuttle began transforming as well. Legs grew out from the blue box, resembling a jungle cat's paws. The tail fin of the shuttle stretched out to become a more animal-like tail as the wings became more wild in nature, and the cockpit stretched out to reveal a long red neck, with the head looking like that of a bird's head. This robot was the biggest, standing over the rest of the robots. If the humans assembled weren't stunned, then they certainly were. Nobody dared to make a move, not even the robots made a move. Soon, one man in a suit, a member of the United Nations, stepped forward, trembling slightly.

"Who…who are you?" he asked the red and blue robot that turned from the Peterbilt.

"My name is Optimus Prime," the robot replied. "And these are my commanders, Elita-One…" he gestured to the sole female of the group, the pink robot. "Ultra Magnus…" the car carrier. "…and Star Saber," he gestured to the jet before motioning to the bird-like robot. "And this is Sky Lynx, one of my soldiers."

"Charmed, I am sure," Sky Lynx replied with a bow of his head.

"We are autonomous robotic organisms from the planet Cybertron," Optimus Prime continued, "also known as Autobots. And we have come to save your planet."

"Save…our planet?" asked another UN member.

"I can understand your confusion, as well as your fear," Optimus said, taking note of the looks of fear many of the men and women had on their faces. "But if you will allow us, then we will explain everything." The various committee members looked at each other for several minutes, before the one in front of Optimus spoke.

"Very well. You said you're from another planet. What is this…Cybertron?"

"Cybertron was our home planet," Optimus began. "For millions of years, we lived in peace until corruption began affecting the system. In response to the corruption, a Cybertronian named Megatron, who gained fame as a gladiator, formed his own faction called the Decepticons, with the intention of overthrowing the old regime through force, and establishing himself as the new ruler. My fellow Autobots and I fought back against the Decepticons and their tyrannical actions, but the war ravaged our planet greatly. Eventually, Cybertron was no longer able to sustain life, and we were forced to abandon Cybertron. The war continued throughout the galaxy, with the Decepticons never abandoning their dreams of conquest."

"The war between us and the Decepticons was always a stalemate," Elita continued. "However, three years ago, we were able to destroy one of Megatron's biggest bases, and they've been on the run since then. We've been looking for them ever since then, and we may believe that their next planet for conquest is here, on Earth."

"Why here?"

"Your planet is the only one in this solar system that is populated," Ultra Magnus answered one woman. "The Decepticons have always been about oppression of others under their rule, even their own Cybertronians. Furthermore, your planet is rich with Energon, the life-blood of all Cybertronians. During the war, countless Energon deposits were scattered throughout the galaxy. Your planet received a vast sum millions of years ago, when it was still populated with the creatures known as 'dinosaurs'."

"If the Decepticons take over your planet, then Megatron will drive it into the ground, using your resources to rebuild his army," Sky Lynx then said, lowering his head to better look at the humans.

"And the human race will be driven to extinction," Optimus finished gravely. "Annihilation of an inhabited planet and its species is not something we Autobots will allow. We are here to save your planet, and ensure the survival of the human race."

"However, we understand you humans already have another problem that's just as bad as the Decepticons," Star Saber then noted. "Pertaining to Second Impact." The Autobot's words caught the attention of the humans, and now all of them had their attention on the quartet of alien robots.

"What do you mean?" asked a nearby woman.

"In order to know more about your planet before making contact, we read up on its history," Elita explained. "We know about Second Impact, the event from 2000 that wiped out an estimated three billion people. We're also aware of the truth regarding how said event happened. The story that most people have been told is it was a meteor. But we know it was the result of a failed expedition that discovered a being in ice known as an 'Angel;' a being that exploded in a great burst of energy."

"And it is believed that more of these Angels are coming for your planet eventually," Ultra Magnus continued. "We are here to defend your planet not only from the Decepticons, but the Angels as well, if you will allow us."

"We are aware that our presence here may cause much discomfort for you, but I assure you we are not here to harm you," Star Saber spoke up. "If you will accept our help and our presence, then we will leave your planet in peace once we have defeated the Decepticons and Angels. However, if you do not wish for us to be here any longer, then we will leave Earth in peace. However, be warned: The Decepticons will come whether we are here or not, and if the Angels do not lay waste to your planet, then Megatron will most assuredly will, by taking advantage of whatever damage the Angels cause. If we leave and the Decepticons do arrive, then we will return here nonetheless to defend you."

"Our technology is highly advanced, and we are willing to share what we know with your armies so they can be better prepared for what will come," said Sky Lynx. "The choice is yours." The assembled humans looked up at the Autobots with mixed emotions. Some of them had looks of awe and hope, others had calculated looks, while others had looks of hostility or suspicion. Soon, a man stepped forward and spoke.

"Well, if you say that you will leave our planet in peace no matter what our decision is, then I must kindly ask you to leave. We have the necessary means to defend this planet from the Angels, as well as these 'Decepticons'. Your very presence is a disturbance that will hardly be tolerated." The Autobots looked down at the man. He had slightly tanned skin and black hair with a beard, and wore a black suit, with his coat open to show his red shirt underneath. He looked up at the Autobots with his face set in a glare, his eyes showing a cold look through his glasses. Like Optimus, the man seemed to exude an air of authority, but unlike Optimus, he did not seem to exude any compassion or respect, only hostility and coldness. Behind him was a woman with short blond hair, a white coat over her blue shirt, brown leggings and black heels, and a black mole underneath her left eye.

"Thank you for your response Commander Ikari," said the first UN member to address the Autobots, "but this is a matter for the United Nations committee to decide."

"I understand that, but as the commanding officer of NERV, I believe I should have some say," said the man, turning his cold gaze to the UN member.

"NERV? As in, the organization that was formed in the wake of Second Impact?" Elita asked, looking down at the man.

"Yes, but it was originally called Gehirn," the woman with Ikari answered. "It became NERV in late 2005. It was formed with the intention of finding and creating a countermeasure against the upcoming threat of the Angels." Pulling out a data tablet, the woman showed the Autobots an image of what appeared to be an orange and gray robot with long, lanky limbs and a red eye on its head. "What you see is NERV's weapon against the Angels. The Multi-Purpose Humanoid Fighting Machine Evangelion. This Eva unit you see is Unit-00, the first Eva unit to be created. There have been five more created like this."

"Hmm, it seems…impressive, to say the least," Sky Lynx dipped his head down and zoomed in with his optics for a better look. "And you are?"

"Oh! Apologies," the woman said, forgetting introductions. "My name is Doctor Ritsuko Akagi. I'm the chief scientist of NERV's Japanese branch, in charge of handling the Eva units as well as medical affairs." She then gestured to the man. "And this is Gendo Ikari, the commanding officer of NERV."

"And with that being said," Commander Ikari continued, "I have confidence that even these Decepticons will fall to the Eva units as well. So, you can kindly leave." Though Optimus and Ultra Magnus didn't have much thought to Commander Ikari's comments, Elita, Star Saber, and Sky Lynx had looks of annoyance on their faces. This Commander Ikari sounded very rude and condescending to the Autobots, and his very presence seemed to alienate everybody around him, elements that did not sound right for a leader.

"Commander Ikari, we understand that your organization is a main line of defense against the upcoming Angels," spoke another UN member, "but that does not give you full authority over the defenses of this planet. The matter of these Autobots and Decepticons is something that the United Nations committee must decide on. Neither you nor Doctor Akagi have any say in this matter!"

"Very well," Commander Ikari said as he adjusted his glasses. "I trust that you will make the right decision in this matter." Most of the UN members glared at him before walking back into the building to decide on the current matter. The Autobots walked off to the side away from the other humans to talk amongst themselves. As they walked away, Commander Ikari looked at them intently with a deep, dark glare.

"So, what do you think?" Elita asked her fellow Autobots.

"Some of them did seem convinced and swayed by us," Sky Lynx gave his answer, his head dropping down on equal level with the other four Autobots. "But yet that one man, this…Commander Ikari…did not seem quite tolerable of us."

"His anger and fear toward us are understandable," Optimus noted. "Several other humans I noticed looked hostile. Their reactions are to be expected. Given their past experiences with the Angels and Second Impact, it would make sense for some of the humans to be afraid of beings from another world."

"I would agree with you Optimus, but Commander Ikari seemed the most vocal against us," said Star Saber. "And he didn't seem less afraid and angry, but rather…annoyed by us."

"He is the commanding officer of NERV," Ultra Magnus added his opinion. "And from what we were able to read, NERV was formed with the sole purpose of defending this planet from the Angels. If he is annoyed, then it may likely be that he has a feeling of being upstaged by us."

"That maybe true Magnus, but something about him…" Elita trailed off as she gave a quick glance to Commander Ikari and Doctor Akagi nearby. The bearded man continued shooting a cold glare at the quintet of Autobots, while Doctor Akagi looked at them with slight intrigue and curiosity. In her long years of living, Elita had come to develop an ability of figuring out people in an instant, and she could tell that Commander Ikari was not a man to be trusted immediately, if at all. As for Doctor Akagi, Elita felt that while the woman did seem more approachable and tolerant of the Autobots, there was something from the way she saw her talking with Ikari that made the female Autobot commander wonder if she could be trusted or not, as Doctor Akagi looked to be very close with Commander Ikari.

"Perhaps Elita," said Optimus. "But if we do end up staying on Earth, then we may have to work with NERV, and its staff."

"If we do, then let us hope that the rest of the staff is more accepting of us," Sky Lynx muttered.

An hour had passed since the Autobots arrived at the United Nations building, and the delegates met behind closed doors for discussion. None of the Autobots said much as they continued waiting, only hoping that a decision could be made before the Ark's engines died and the immense ship fell out of the sky. The humans outside the building with them said or did nothing else, waiting themselves. Soon, the doors opened and a group of UN members walked out, coming forward to the Autobots.

"Optimus Prime, the committee has voted, and we have reached a decision," spoke the senior undersecretary. "In exchange for your aid in defending the nations of this world from the Angels and the Decepticons, then we shall allow you and your Autobots to stay here on Earth as long as you see fit. Furthermore, your army will work together with NERV, as they are the Earth's main line of defense against the Angels." Optimus and the Autobots with him had looks of happiness on their face, pleased that they would be accepted on Earth. Off to the side, Commander Ikari glowered at the undersecretary upon hearing this news.

"Senior undersecretary, is this a wise move?" he chose to ask. "We do not even know the first thing of these Autobots, alien robots from another planet, and you have chosen to blindly trust them."

"Then you and your staff can certainly get to know them better Commander Ikari," the undersecretary said to the NERV commander. "Because in addition to working with the Autobots, you and Optimus Prime shall bear equal ranking."

"What?!" Doctor Akagi's eyes widened in complete shock as Commander Ikari's glare deepened even more. This development would not sit well with them, and many other people.

"We thank you for allowing us to stay here," Optimus spoke to the delegates. "I assure you, we will not fail in protecting your world from our shared enemies." He then turned to Commander Ikari and Doctor Akagi. "I can understand if you are not pleased, and I apologize if I have angered you. But I hope we can work well together." Commander Ikari only responded with another glare at the Autobot leader before walking off, leaving Doctor Akagi alone with them.

"I…apologize," she said to Optimus. "I'm…I'm sure that we can work together as well."

"Thank you Doctor," said Ultra Magnus. "If I may ask, where is NERV based at?"

"We have several bases throughout the globe," Doctor Akagi answered, "and we have one here in America. However, our main base is located in Tokyo-3 in Japan, so if that's where you'll be based at…"

"That will most suffice, thank you," Star Saber replied before turning to Optimus. "We should return to the Ark now and inform the others."

"I agree," Optimus nodded before looking up to the biggest Autobot currently present. "Sky Lynx, transform." In an instant, Sky Lynx had transformed back to his shuttle mode, lowering his ramp for Optimus, Elita, and Magnus to board him. As Sky Lynx took off, Star Saber transformed into his jet mode and flew back to the Ark by the shuttle's side. The humans assembled watched in complete awe as they witnessed the Ark turn around in the air once the two aircraft landed in its docking bay, before flying into the sky.

Once the Ark was out of sight, Ritsuko Akagi walked in the direction she saw Gendo storm off towards. Her mind was currently a swirl of different thoughts, such as confusion, awe, intrigue, and nervousness. The presence of the Cybertronians left her in complete awe as while she had seen beings from another planet before and worked with robots in her service to NERV, she had never met sentient alien machines that could become vehicles. That's not to say the Angels weren't sentient, but unlike the Angels, the Autobots could communicate with humans and did not want to cause destruction, but bring peace. Though from what they said, these Decepticons were obsessed with leaving destruction everywhere in their wake like the Angels. This brought about her nervousness. Not only would the Decepticons be a major problem like the Angels, but the presence of the Autobots would also be a problem for NERV. And from the way she saw Gendo react to the Autobots, it was clear he knew as well.

She eventually found Gendo sitting in a limo with the rear door open, clearly an indication for her to get in with him. Once the door closed behind Ritsuko, Gendo gave the driver a nod, which the driver answered with one of his own before driving off.

"So, this was…something," Ritsuko said after a long, uneasy silence. "We come here to convince the UN to put more of their funding into NERV, and now we have new visitors from another world…as well as new potential enemies." Gendo said nothing as he tented his fingers and looked down at his shoes. Ritsuko knew that he was thinking about the newest developments, as well as trying to figure out how to use the Autobots to his advantage.

"I should let you know that the Autobots are on their way to Tokyo-3," she then added. "Honestly, I wonder where they'll park that ship of theirs. It's almost as big as the city."

"We're heading back to Tokyo-3," Gendo then spoke suddenly. "We need to quickly adjust to these new developments as soon as possible." He turned his gaze to Ritsuko. "Once we get back, I want you to scrub as many files as you can from the MAGI and the other computers and transfer them to paper files."

"You think the Autobots may find out about Instrumentality?" Ritsuko asked, realizing the intentions of Gendo's orders.

"The Autobots and Decepticons will be wild cards in the scenario," Gendo replied. "If the Autobots find out about this, then they will try to stop us from doing so. They seem like the type of people that would not allow our plans to come to fruition."

"And the Decepticons?" asked Ritsuko. "You think they'll try to use Instrumentality for their own means if they find out about it?"

"Most likely," said Gendo. "However, given the Autobots are here with the primary motivation of stopping their enemies, then by the time they find out about Instrumentality, if at all, then they will be too occupied with the Decepticons to stop us."

Ritsuko looked at Gendo with a look of skepticism before thinking about something else. "Well, one thing is for sure. SEELE won't take this lying down. I'm sure some of their agents were among the delegates that voted against this."

Gendo merely grunted. "The senior undersecretary must have made a convincing argument to allow this. He is one of the few people that aren't aware of SEELE's involvement in the UN's matters. Let the old men rant until the end of time about this new development. There's hardly much that they can do without fear of exposure. Although…" he smirked at a sudden thought. "If we ever decide to rid ourselves of them, we could easily leave a few clues for the Autobots to hunt down Keel without tracing it back to us."

"When you say about 'ridding ourselves of them', are you referring to the Autobots, or SEELE?" asked Ritsuko.

"Mostly SEELE, since we'll be able to proceed with Instrumentality unopposed," said Gendo. "However, if the Autobots and the old men were to take each other out, well…all the better for us."

"Perhaps," Ritsuko said, although she did not share Gendo's confidence. She agreed with him that the Cybertronians would be wild cards for the scenario they had planned out, and the thing with wild cards is they would be unpredictable. And even with a scenario that Gendo had spent years planning, such as Instrumentality, it was possible the Autobots could not only cause problems for it, but even not make it happen.

'Although…' Ritsuko thought to herself as she looked at Gendo with a look of desire in her eyes. 'Maybe it could be all the better for me.'

As the United Nations delegates returned to the main building and the majority of the police stationed there went back on regular patrol in the city, none of them were aware of a small figure far away from the building, perched on a nearby building. At a distance, they would have dismissed it as a regular condor. However, this was far from a regular condor. He was robotic in nature, colored black and red, with silver cannons mounted on his back. The robotic condor watched everything intently with a camera coming out of his head and recording everything, from the Ark's arrival over the building, to the Autobots' negotiating with the delegates and being granted permission to stay on Earth. Once the Ark was gone, the condor took off and flew into the sky, heading for his destination at near Mach 3 speed. After several hours of flying, the condor finally reached his destination: Death Valley, California. With extremely hot temperatures on a yearly basis, temperatures that went up following Second Impact, it was virtually impossible for any human to live here.

How fortunate for Laserbeak that he, and his masters, weren't human. Circling over a certain area, Laserbeak waited patiently as a bunker rose from the ground before opening its doors. Flying into the bunker, Laserbeak maneuvered his way down the halls and corridors before reaching the central command room, where he found who he was looking for. Several of his fellow Decepticons stood in the room, with the scientist Shockwave being the first to notice his presence.

"Laserbeak has returned to us, Lord Megatron," he announced to his master in a monotonous voice.

"Welcome back, Laserbeak," Megatron, the Decepticon leader, greeted as he held out his arm for the robotic condor to land on. "As always, you never fail in pleasing me, unlike some of my other warriors." He turned his gaze over to his devious air commander Starscream, who looked less than pleased at the snide remark. Ever since joining the Decepticons, Starscream had made it no secret that he wanted to usurp Megatron and become the leader of the Decepticons. Every attempt he made over the years ended in miserable failure, and left him with very few Decepticons that could trust him. Even his own Seekers barely tolerated him, though they still stayed with him due to him being their commanding officer before the war on Cybertron ever broke out. What also did not help matters was the few missions Megatron trusted him to lead would often not end in his favor. The number of personal victories Starscream had over the years, he could count on both hands. And what really didn't help matters for Starscream was he also had to deal with Deathsaurus, who stood off to the side nearby, and had proven himself to be one of Megatron's most effective soldiers and field commanders.

"Yes, put the blame on me as always Lord Megatron," Starscream sneered at his master. "It's not like I am the only Decepticon that has failed you over the eons."

"Perhaps Starscream," Deathsaurus noted, his deep voice sounding smooth like silk. "But your failures are more renown throughout Decepticon history than myself and the other Decepticons put together. Especially your attempt to lead a counterattack on Chaar."

"Do not put the blame on me, Deathsaurus!" Starscream snapped. "The Autobots caught us by surprise. Perhaps if Octane had paid more attention on patrol back then, we wouldn't have lost our stronghold!"

"A stronghold that you were in charge of as far as air reconnaissance was concerned," Scorponok, a Decepticon who appropriately could transform into a scorpion, growled at the Seeker commander. "Perhaps if you were more thorough, then we wouldn't have lost Octane as well as the other Decepticons back then. Barrage, Chop Shop, Mindwipe, Skullcruncher, Runamuck and Runabout, and others all dust!"

"Do not take that tone with me, Scorponok, or I'll send you to the scrap heap with them!" Starscream glared menacingly at the much taller Decepticon.

"Go ahead and try, you insubordinate little…!"

"Enough!" Megatron snapped, diverting all of the Decepticons' attention back to him. "This bickering is pointless." Standing up from his chair, Megatron turned to a Decepticon he trusted above all others, the one who was in command of Laserbeak. "Soundwave, playback Laserbeak's findings." With that command, Laserbeak left his place on Megatron's arm and flew over to Soundwave, transforming into a cassette tape and entering the deck that made up Soundwave's chest.

"As you command, Megatron," Soundwave replied emotionlessly before he transformed into a tape deck. A moment later, Soundwave connected himself to a monitor, allowing Megatron, Shockwave, Deathsaurus, Scorponok, and Starscream to see what Laserbeak saw at the United Nations hours ago. As soon as the playback ended and Soundwave transformed into his robot form again, the Decepticons had mixed reactions to what they just witnessed. Starscream's face was etched with fear and apprehension, Shockwave and Soundwave barely had any reaction, Scorponok gritted his teeth as he clicked his pincers, while Deathsaurus had a look of eagerness and excitement on his face, and Megatron grinned evilly as he sat back in his chair, his fingers tenting.

"Optimus…at last," Megatron chuckled. "I was wondering when he would finally come to this planet. It certainly took him longer than I expected."

"I would have preferred if they never found us," Starscream said fearfully. "Now that the Autobots are here, they'll finish us off and ruin everything!"

"As always Starscream, you give up too easily and assume it's the end," Deathsaurus said to the air commander. "This is why you would fail miserably as Decepticon leader. We have been slowly rebuilding and planning for the last three years, and what Lord Megatron has planned out will succeed."

"I say once the Autobots land in Tokyo-3, we head there and lay waste to them!" Scorponok suggested. "We give them a taste of what we went through on Chaar!"

"Not yet, Scorponok," Shockwave replied. "The Autobots have only just arrived and formed their alliance with NERV. As we do not know yet the strength the Autobots have, as well as the fact that NERV only has two pilots so far for their Evangelion units, the most logical choice right now is to wait until the Angels arrive."

"Agreed," Deathsaurus added. "This will give us the chance to measure the Autobots' strength, as well as the strength that NERV possesses."

"Well spoken," Megatron spoke from his chair. "Until then, we are to observe and not engage. Do you understand me Scorponok? Starscream?" Both mentioned Decepticons glared at their leader before slowly kneeling down.

"Yes Lord Megatron," Scorponok was the first to answer. "I live to serve you."

"I…will obey, Lord Megatron," Starscream said in a tone that made it like he was being forced to say it.

"Good," Megatron said before turning to his scientist. "Shockwave, I want you and the Constructicons to continue working on our special project."

"Yes, Lord Megatron!" Shockwave said with a salute before leaving the room.

"The rest of you, keep our forces on standby," Megatron ordered the remaining Decepticons. "I want them to be ready for when I give the word to attack."

"Yes, Lord Megatron!" the other Decepticons answered their master before leaving him alone in the room.

"Enjoy your time on Earth as long as you can, Optimus," Megatron sneered as he looked at the image of his rival on the main screen. "For soon, you, your Autobots, every human on this Earth, and every sentient being in this galaxy, will acknowledge me as your true ruler once my plan finally comes to fruition. This time…I shall prevail! HEH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Fly me to the moon

And let me play among the stars

Let me see what Spring is like

On Jupiter and Mars

In other words, hold my hand

In other words, darling, kiss me

Fill my heart with song

And let me sing forevermore

You are all long for

All I worship and adore

In other word, please be true

In other words, I love you

"Ironhide here. Well, we finally get to set up shop on Earth, and we're going to have to split up the team across the globe so we can meet everybody that's involved with NERV. There's going to be some new meetings, as well as…wait…fan…service? What's that supposed to be?"

Next time: Forging Alliances

And with that, the adventure has begun. The story has started, and the world will not be the same once the ending is reached.

I'm not going to give away much right now due to spoilers, but expect things to be quite different on the Evangelion side with the Autobots in play. The Angels will still show up as they did in canon, but some outcomes may not be what you'll expect, and of course, the Decepticons will have their own plans as well.

The Autobots and NERV will officially work together, and Optimus Prime has been granted equal authority with Gendo Ikari. And as you can expect, Gendo is not happy about this. Keep in mind that Gendo is a master of manipulation in canon. He knows what kinds of buttons to push and what kind of strings to pull to get what he wants, which is how he was able to stay on top and get away with a lot. But that was mostly because he knew the people he was working with, all of their strengths and weaknesses, and he likely had profiles which showed their psychological states. But against someone like Optimus, who he knows little about, is mentally stable, has millennia of experience with people like Gendo, is not so easily manipulated, and is the exact opposite of Gendo Ikari in nearly every way? Yeah, that won't end well, and as Gendo and Ritsuko pointed out, the Autobots are going to be massive wild cards for Third Impact. So you can expect Optimus and the other Autobots to not play along with a lot of the crap Gendo will try to pull.

But it also seems that Gendo and Ritsuko are already making precautions to keep the Autobots from learning about what they have planned, and the next chapter will have Gendo meeting with SEELE to discuss the matter of the Cybertronians.

We've also been introduced to quite a few Autobots. In addition to Optimus, we have Ironhide, Ratchet, Brawn, Prowl, Hoist, Wheeljack, Perceptor, Blaster, Chromia, Sky Lynx, Elita-One, Ultra Magnus, and Star Saber. And those are just the ones with full appearances. Expect quite a lot of Autobots to appear in the next few chapters. I chose to add Star Saber from Victory as I recently watched a few episodes online, and decided to put Star Saber just because of how awesome a character he is. He'll be a bit of a player in this story.

And in case you were wondering with Blaster's scene: Yes, he was playing the opening theme to Yu Yu Hakusho.

And of course, we were introduced to the Decepticons as well, specifically Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave and Laserbeak, Shockwave, Scorponok, and Deathsaurus, also from Victory. Deathsaurus is going to be a major player in this fic down the line. And from the looks of it, Megatron has Shockwave and the Constructicons working on a secret project, but what is it exactly? You'll see down the line.

As Ironhide said, next time the Autobots settle into Tokyo-3, and Ultra Magnus is going to America with a team to meet a certain character from Rebuild. And in Japan, we'll see the rest of the NERV staff, as well as a certain beer-guzzling captain who may provide some fanservice. Till next time!
