Maxonline: And the Art Form

"Why?" Max whines, dragging her feet on the ground.

"I've already told you why!" Caroline exclaims, pulling Max by the arm.

Caroline was forcing Max to finally fulfill her dreams and Max wasn't having it. The two probably looked crazy bickering the whole way down the busy sidewalk in the middle of the afternoon. Just as she was about to start whining again, the blonde trips over a tall man's foot who was waiting at the bus stop.

"Sorry," Caroline smiles awkwardly.

With Caroline distracted, Max was able to pull her arm out of her grip. A millisecond went by before Max took off back to their apartment.

"Damnit Max! Stop denying your destiny!"

"How was the art class, Max?" Han asks coming out of his office.

The girls were just coming in to start their shift. One happy, one pouty.

"She didn't go to the art class." Her eyes sharply turn to Max then look back to the boss. Max rolls hers. "It took a lot of time signing her up for the class, waiting a month trying to keep it a secret, dragging her to the class when she refused to go and all my work was for nothing because Max is a…" she stops for a second. "Is a…" she pauses again. "Well, when I think of a not-nice word I'll call her it."

"Good luck trying to think of of I haven't already been called," Max smirks.

Caroline crosses her arms in defeat.

"You girls should really have your own show," Sophie smiles from her booth.

Max jumps. "When the hell did you get here?"

She laughs. "You know I'm always where the drama is, girl!"

"I hate to rain on your parade, Sophie, but there is no drama here," Caroline says. "If Max doesn't want to go I can't force her."

"Really?" Max asks, unconvinced. "I know you, Channing. You never know when to leave things alone."

"Not true!"

"It's totally true," the rest all say in unison.

"No need to agree simultaneously. I'm going to prove you all wrong. Starting now."

"This is going to be a blast!" Han exclaims.

"I second that," Sophie chimes in. "It'll be nice not hearing her big mouth flapping around all the time."

"Is my mouth really that big?" Caroline asks Max insecurely.

"I mean, it is bigger than average."

"Ha! Even your girlfriend agrees, Caroline."

"What is that smell?" Caroline mutters to herself. She opens the apartment door to see Max and Keefer on the couch smoking pot. "I guess that answers my question."

"Oh hey, Caroline. Do you want to try some locomotion with us?" Keefer smiles.

"Oh, is that some kind of dance?" Caroline beams.

"No, it's the weed strain you nerd," Max laughs.

She nods in agreement. "Ok, I deserved that, but I am good." Caroline pulls down her bed from the wall.

"Woah, you hid your bed?" Keefer looks to Caroline. "That's pretty dope."

"I didn't know people still said dope," Caroline replies.

"They don't but I just kind of ride my own wave, you feel me man?" Keefer hits the bong and then hands it to Max. "I just got the best idea ever. We should have a threesome."

Caroline fights the instinct to be blunt. "Actually, um, Keefer is it?" She nods slowly. "Keefer, I am pretty exhausted from work so maybe another time?"

She stands up and bows to her. "No problem, my goddess." Max gets up as well and follows her to the door to let her out. Before Keefer leaves she turns to Max and whispers, "What are you doing with the blonde square?"

Max chuckles nervously before shutting the door.

"Blonde square?" Caroline mocks, offended.

"She's joking," Max dismisses.

"That doesn't make me feel better."

"Look, I don't think you're a square if that helps."

Caroline goes to replace Max's friend's spot on the couch. She gently moves the purple bong off the cup holder. "You don't?"

"No," she reassures. "There's nothing wrong with not wanting to have a threesome and there's nothing wrong with wanting me to join an art class. You're just not ready and neither am I," Max smiles. "By that I mean the art class, not the threesome."

Caroline playfully rolls her eyes. "Just how many have you had?"

"Do you really want me to answer that?"

"Yeah, I'm curious." Caroline pats the cushion next to her. "Sit and tell me."

Max does just that.

"I've only had like five."

"Five?" Caroline sounds shocked. "That's pretty impressive not going to lie."

"Yeah, but that's all behind me now. I'd rather just fuck you."

"As, thanks Max," then she pauses. "If you really want to have another one I wouldn't mind calling back Keefer and-"

Max shakes her head, amused, while Caroline keeps ranting.

"Same old Caroline."
