Chapter 4

We see Takoda walking down the street as he was being lead by Hilda to the Trolberg park to meet up with her friends. "Hey Hilda if you don't mind me asking, what are your friends like?" Takoda asked the blue haired girl. Hilda looked at Takoda.

"Well David he tends to scare easily and is quite timid, but he's an amazing singer. Frida on the other hand is very organized, strong minded an very smart, she's top of our class in school" said Hilda. Soon both of them made it to the park, there were people there either jogging, flying kites, and having picnics. Hilda then spotted her friends, "There they are" said Hilda pointing at two kids who seemed to be around Hilda's age, the boy was white with brown hair and black eyes, he was wearing a orange long sleeved shirt with black pants, gray shoes and white socks.

The other was a dark skinned girl with black hair tied in a bush ponytail tail, she was wearing a light violet hoodie black pants and white shoes. The girl then spotted Hilda, "Hey Hilda glad you could make it" she said as she hugged her friend, Frida then noticed the tall long haired teen next to Hilda, "and who might this be?" she asked.

"Frida, David this is Takoda, he's living in our guest room as our tenant" said Hilda introducing her friends to Takoda. Takoda walked up to the two kids, "nice to meet you two, Hilda has told me a little bit about you two" said Takoda holding out his hand to Frida, which she took. Takoda then turned his attention to David, "and you must be David, Hilda tells me you're a natural singer."

David scratched the back of his head sheepishly, "Yeah well sometimes my bad luck and clumsiness, keeps me from actually succeeding" said David.

"So Are you new to Trolberg Takoda?" asked Frida, "I don't think I've seen you around before."

"Well am a traveler, I stumbled up Trolberg after traveling from Warcester, a town outside of the city walls." said Takoda.

"Really you're from out of town, what's Warcester like?" Frida asked intrigued.

"Well not any different from Trolberg, really" answered Takoda the best way he could, since he didn't know anything specific about that town. David then raised his hand, "Is Warcester dangerous, did you get that scar o your face in a fight?" David asked rather timidly

"David, you don't just ask someone something that personal, it's rude" said Frida scolding David.

"You're right am s-sorry mister T-Takoda" said David stuttering, but Takoda wasn't offended, he knew that his scar was really noticeable and people, especially children were going to be curious on how he got it.

"No harm done David, I got this scar from a mountain lion when I was eleven" said Takoda shocking both of Hilda's friends. "How on earth did you survive a mountain lion!?" asked David nearly screaming.

"David!" said Frida annoyed with her friend's outburst, but Takoda just laugh, "my uncle is quite a hunter, he and the group of people I was with saved me from the puma, before it could do even more damage."

Hilda decided to change the topic, "So Takoda what was work like did you find anything interesting?" she asked, Takoda nodded his head sideways, "Not really, just a lot of fish, crabs and lobsters." said Takoda only telling her half of the truth as he didn't want to talk about the guy they found nearly dead from hypothermia.

"Anyway Hilda you said that you wanted me to draw a picture of you right?" he asked. Hilda nodded her head, "that's right, but do you think you can a draw one of me, David ,Frida and Twig?" Hilda asked.

"Sure, the more the merrier" said Takoda as Hilda handed him her sketchbook, "alright you guys can stand over by that small pond with the flowers" said Takoda as Hilda and her friends went to stand over by the pond, soon Takoda began to draw the three kids. It took about ten minutes, but he was done, he then showed it to the three friends and they were impressed with the results.

"Wow Takoda this is spectacular, you drawing skills are really good" said Frida.

"Yeah you even got the bug on David's head exactly right." said Hilda.

"What I had another bug on me!?" said David.

"It's still in your hair" said Frida pulling the insect out of the boy's hair, causing everyone to laugh. After drawing Hilda and her friends, they played around with a frisbee in the park for a while, they showed Takoda around Trolberg, parts of the city he hasn't explored yet, such as the school. There was even a gym, Takoda was glad, he was looking to find a place to exercise. It was six forty five and the sun was beginning to set, both David and Frida went home. Takoda wanted to get back to the apartment, but Hilda wanted to take Takoda by the beach, he was reluctant, but Hilda gave him a cute pleading look and he gave in much to Hilda's satisfaction.

Trolberg hospital

Meanwhile at the hospital Jason Taylor the fisherman that Takoda and his crew found in the water was resting on a hospital cot, he was tossing and turning as if he was having a bad dream, well 'dream' would be putting it lightly, a nightmare would be more accurate, a nightmare about what happened back on the boat was still fresh on his mind, he could still hear the screams of his crewmates as those damn sirens devoured them. The nightmare felt so real as one of the sirens sank her teeth into him, feeling the razor sharp teeth sinking into his flesh, but just as the pain entered his body, it was suddenly gone.

In fact he wasn't on the boat anymore and the sirens were gone, now he was in a forest rich with trees with the healthiest green leaves he's ever seen 'where am I, is this a dream, but it feels too real' he thought.

"You're in my domain Jason Taylor" said a mysterious voice, Jason quickly turned around and saw an elderly man with long gray hair, wearing a long fur coat with a what appeared to be a feathered hat, he was mounted on a horse that was white and brown. Jason was confused, who was this man and how did he know him.

"I sense your confusion, as well as your fear Jason, but you do not need to fear me, I have expelled the nightmare that has been plaguing your dreams recently." said the mysterious man in a gentle voice.

"W-who are you?" asked Jason.

"Who am I? one name that you humans might have for me is the world, or to others the great spirit or perhaps God."

Jason had a look of shock on his face, "Y-Y-you're G-God!?"

"I guess I am, if you like, you can call me God, but I normally prefer the great spirit, but you can call me anything you want Jason, you can even call me something as simple like Joe." said the great spirit.

Jason cleared his throat trying his best not to stutter, "Why are you here?" he asked.

"Unfortunately this isn't a social visit, am here to warn you." said the great spirit. Jason did not like the sound of that, but he continued to listen. "The creatures who attacked you are going to strike again, this time at a nearby beach in Trolberg and their targets are a young man and a child."

Jason was horrified to hear that, those monsters who killed his friends are now going to kill a couple of kids, no no this can't be happening, damn it, why couldn't he have killed them when he had the chance, why was he so damn weak. The great spirit noticed Jason's distraught look and put a hand on shoulder calming him down.

"Calm yourself Jason, the young man accompanying the young girl is more than capable of defending himself, but he won't be able to fight and protect the girl at the same time, and their not targeting those two specifically, their just at the wrong place at the wrong time, those two sirens were specifically coming for you.

"Well what do you want me to do about it?" Jason asked, the great spirit summoned a projection of a beach with a lot of trash everywhere, Jason recognized the beach. "I know that place, is that where those freaks are going to strike?"

The great spirit nodded his head, "Correct you must go and assist them, or I fear they will fall prey to those monsters, now go Jason Taylor don't let them claim anymore lives" said the great spirit as he touched Jason's forehead with his fingers and Jason immediately woke up back in the hospital. He looked at his shoulder and saw that the wound has healed, but has left a nasty scar. Jason got out of bed and saw that his clothes were on a nearby chair, he wanted to ask the great spirit more questions, but he needed to get to that beach asap, getting off the bed and getting dressed, Jason made a break to the beach.

Back at the beach, both Hilda and Takoda (along with Twig) were at the beach, it was full of trash, but that wasn't why Hilda brought Takoda there for, she wanted to show him the sunset, and Takoda had to admit, it was breathtaking, he couldn't resist taking out the sketchbook and began to draw again and finishing it in only six minutes. He then sat down next to Hilda and Twig.

"Beautiful isn't it?" asked Hilda.

"Yeah it is" said Takoda agreeing.

"You know when I first came to the city I really didn't' like it in the beginning, I just missed the wilderness so much that I was unwilling to give Trolberg a chance, but that change when I met Frida and David, the best friends anyone could ever ask for" said Hilda.

"People have a way of finding a place in your heart Hilda, you just need to be willing to let them, the world is a really big place and you won't be able to explore it if you just stay in one place for the rest of your life, you would be missing out on a lot." said Takoda.

"Is that why you traveled to Trolberg from Warcester?" asked Hilda.

"It's part of it yeah, exploring new places is always exciting, you see new things, meet interesting people, and many more" said Takoda.

"You're right adventure is the best thing about the world it's beautiful and quite dangerous sometimes, but that's the life of an adventurer and I don't want it to pass me by." said Hilda.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're quite wise for your age, Hilda" said Takoda smiling, his praise got Hilda to blush a little. "So Hilda how long have you been living in the wilderness before moving to Trolberg?" Takoda asked all curious.

"Well actually we've been living there ever since I was a baby, just me, mum and Twig" she said petting the deer fox.

"Really, what about your father?" asked Takoda, Hilda looked down with a sadden look on his face. "I never knew my dad, and mum won't talk about him. I have no idea who he is or where he is." said Hilda with a downcast tone in her voice.

"Oh am sorry Hilda I didn't mean to pry into such a sensitive matter" said Takoda apologizing, Hilda then hugged him catching him off guard for a second

"It's ok Takoda, you couldn't have known, I just wish I knew more about him, like why did he leave, I mean did I do something wrong, did he not love me enough to stay, I just wish mum would tell me about him" said Hilda tearing up a bit, Twig sensing Hilda's sadness began to snuggle up to her, while Takoda hugged her back gently rubbing her head

"What's your family like?" Hilda asked breaking the silence and wiping her tears, wanting to get her mind off such a sensitive topic, Takoda began to tell her about his family.

"Well there's my father, uncle, grandfather and the rest of my tribe" said Takoda. Hilda was surprised at that, "You have a tribe!?" said Hilda with wide eyes.

Takoda smiled, "I sure do everyone one of us is family, though not by blood, family isn't just about being biologically related, it's about the bonds you made with closest to you" said Takoda.

"Why did you leave then?" asked Hilda.

"Well I wanted to explore the world and see what it had to offer Hilda and my grandfather agreed that I shouldn't stay sheltered all my life" said Takoda, he hated lying to someone as nice as Hilda, but there was no way he could tell her the truth.

"Anyway we should be getting back don't want to miss our curfew right?" said Takoda as he got up along with Hilda. As they began to walk back to town, Takoda stopped, feeling not one but two presences near them the same presence he felt when the wendigo attacked him back home. He quickly got into a defensive stance, Hilda noticed Takoda was getting ready for a fight and stopped walking as well.

"Takoda what's wrong?" she asked

"Hilda you and Twig get behind me right now" said Takoda in a very serious tone that worried Hilda, but she obeyed. "Takoda what's wrong?" she asked getting a bit scared.

"There's something here with us Hilda, and they're not friendly" explained Takoda. Twig was growling, as he too felt the same presence as the Native American. Then they all heard someone singing a beautiful melody. They turned their heads and saw two women gorgeous women about Takoda's age or maybe a bit older, they were both blonde and were identical twin sisters.

Hilda blushed at the sight of them and looked away in embarrassment ,why you ask, well simple really the women where wearing absolutely nothing, they were as naked as the day they were born. Her mum always told her that being in your birthday suit outdoors was not appropriate. Takoda on the other hand wasn't fazed at their shameless display, he eyes briefly glowing yellow as he glared at the two, knowing they had ill intentions.

"Well look at what we have here sister a young man, a little girl and a little fox right here on the beach." said one of the women in a gentle but deadly tone in her voice.

"I can see that sis, and I got to say, the boy is quite handsome if I say so myself" said the other one giving Takoda a seductive look.

"Who are you two?" asked Takoda getting ready to fight in case they attacked.

"Oh how rude of us, let me introduce ourselves, my name is Kira" said the now named Kira

"And my name is Deidra" said the other twin.

"Why are you here?" asked Takoda and he was secretly growing his claws.

"Well we came to look for a certain man we met yesterday" said Deidra

"Yeah we just want to check on to see if he's okay and see if he wants to spend some quality time with us" said Kira innocently "but maybe you and and your little friend and pet would like to join us for a little swim"

Takoda could tell that these two had some sinister intentions. "I don't think so, you two stay the hell away from us and go back to wherever hole two crawled out off, right now" said Takoda menacingly, unintentionally scaring both Hilda and Twig, but getting a laugh out of the two sisters.

"Oh we love it when a man gets feisty" said Kira.

"Yeah, it makes us very...hungry" said Deidra as her voice distorted. The two sister then began to transform before their very eyes. Hilda was horrified to see the two young women transform into two hideous scaled fish monsters with glowing red eyes and sharp teeth.

"We'll enjoy some quick snack before we find our main course" said Deidra

"But before we eat you, we'll be sure to show you a good time before you die handsome" said Kira.

Takoda knew that he could probably handle these two in a fight, but with Hilda and Twig being with him, he needed to make their safety and survival the top priority, but it was easier said than done, how was he going to fight and protect Hilda and the deer fox at the same time. May the the great spirit help them, because this was going to be a difficult fight.
