Daryl wasn't sure where they were going when Joe stopped and Joe looked at the sign.

"What's Terminus?" Harley asked.

"Let's go check it out," Joe said.

"Don't think so," Daryl said and they looked at him.

"Mind tellin' us why we shouldn't go there?"

"They don't know us an' we don't know them."

"Never stopped us before," Billy said with a grin.

"Let's go," Joe said.

They walked along the railroad track while Joe told Daryl what happened to their friend, Lou, and Daryl nodded. He glanced around with his eyes for any sign of Carol then he started walking a little faster.

Later that night, Daryl and the Claimers walked down the road when they noticed a broken-down truck and two people sitting near a small fire. Joe signaled for them to stop as they spread out and Daryl wondered what they were going to do.

"What do you think they're gonna do, Darylina? They're gonna rob 'em," Merle's voice said in his head and Daryl sighed. He watched them walk closer when he heard something behind him and he turned. He could just see someone in the shadows, but he something told him it wasn't a Walker. He walked into the shadows while holding the crossbow out in front of him and he scanned the shadows with his eyes. He kept walking until he could barely see Carol standing near a tree and he frowned.

"What the hell are you doin' out here!?" Daryl whispered and she walked closer.

"What do you think I'm doing," Carol whispered and he rolled his eyes.

"I told you to go back to the cabin."

"And I decided not to."

Snorting a breath of air, he walked closer when he heard screaming and they looked into the darkness.

"Come on," Daryl said. He took hold of her right hand as they ran back the way Daryl came then he stopped when he saw who Joe and the others had decided to rob. "Rick?"

"And Michonne," Carol said.

"Stay here."

Daryl walked closer when he noticed Carl was in the truck and Dan was waiting for him to get out of the truck. Daryl noticed Rick was on his knees as Daryl listened to what Joe was saying then he slowly walked closer to the truck. Carl barely glanced at him as Daryl shook his head and he headed for Joe. Tony was holding Michonne down on her knees while Daryl's mind replayed what happened at the prison and Daryl slowly shook his head as she looked at him.

"No!" Daryl said as he walked closer and Joe looked at him.

"What do you mean by no?!" Joe demanded.

"Leave them be."

"Why would I do that?"

"They're friends of mine."

"They're a part of your old group?"

"Yeah. These are good people. You gotta let them go."

"Now, I think Lou would disagree with you on that. I of course will have to speak for him. Seeing how your friend choked him to death," Joe said as he looked at Rick. Rick looked at Daryl while he wondered why Daryl was with them and Daryl held his hands out to his side.

"You want blood? I get it. Take it from me, Man. Come on."

"Even though I admire your sacrifice, I know you're lying to me. You know what happens when someone lies, right?" Joe asked and Rick frowned. He watched the men surround Daryl as the rage built inside of him and the rage increased when he saw Dan trying to get Carl out of the truck.

Suddenly, the world seemed to slow down and the next thing Rick knew, he was slamming the back of his head into Joe's face.

The rest of the fight was a blur.

Rick fought with Joe then he killed Joe.

Tony, who was holding her down, was killed by Michonne after she broke free of him.

Billy and Harley were killed by Daryl and Michonne.

Finally, Dan was killed by Rick after Dan had pulled Carl out of the truck and he pinned Carl to the ground.

Daryl, Michonne and Carl watched Rick stabbing Dan over and over, but no one moved then Daryl turned to look into the darkness. He could barely saw Carol as he signaled for her to stay put and she nodded.

In the morning, Daryl looked at Rick sitting near the truck and Rick's hands were shaking. Daryl turned while he walked into the woods and he looked for Carol. She had made a small camp not far from the road as she looked up and he knelt down next to her.

"I… I can't believe he did that," Carol said.

"I can. He was protectin' his family," Daryl said.

"Are you ok?"

Daryl was bruised and a little cut up from fighting the Claimers as he snorted a breath of air and he shrugged.

"Been worse," Daryl said then he locked eyes with her. "Go."

"No."

"Carol…"

"I can't leave you with Rick… With him like that."

"I can handle Rick."

"I know that. But…."

She looked at him when she stood and she walked to him. Daryl stood as she took his hands and he sighed.

"Are you doing this for me? Do you think he'll do something if he finds out I'm here?" she asked.

"Dunno. All I know is you're better off goin' back," Daryl said. He waited for her to argue some more when she picked up the tote bag she was carrying and he watched her walk away. He kicked out the fire when he headed back toward the truck and he picked up a plastic bottle of water. He wet a clean cloth as he handed it to Rick and Rick frowned.

"You should save that to drink," Rick said.

"You can't see yerself. Take it," Daryl said and Rick took the cloth from him. Daryl sat down as Rick watched him and he waited for Daryl to say something.

"How did you end up with them?"

"I was with Beth."

"Beth?"

"Yeah, she was looking fer…," he said then he paused. "She was lookin' fer the others an' we took off."

"Where is she now?"

"She's safe. I was just lookin' fer somewhere fer us t'go when they showed up."

"Did you tell them about Beth?"

"Hell no," Daryl said as he paused and Rick washed the blood off his hands. "I knew they were bad, but I didn't know what they could do."

Rick looked a Daryl for a few seconds as he noticed the shame and hurt on Daryl's face and Rick blinked his eyes a few times.

"It's not on you, Daryl. You being back with us here… Now…That's everything," Rick said and Daryl heard the truth in his words. Daryl just looked down and Rick tilted his head to one side. "You may not believe this, but you're more than just my friend. You're my brother."

They sat in silence for a few seconds as they stared straight ahead then Daryl looked at Rick.

"What sort of brother doesn't take the shot when he has the chance?" Daryl asked then he told Rick about not shooting the Governor.

"That doesn't make it your fault. You were waiting on me. If I had done things differently, I would have shot him myself. But what I did last night? That was all me. I did it to keep Carl safe."

They sat in silence, but they didn't notice Carol watching them from the woods. She leaned against the tree as she frowned and tears slowly rolled down her cheeks.

She walked away as she headed by the trees and she felt a large knot forming in her chest. She stopped when she heard something and she removed the gun from the holster. She watched the bushes and trees when she lowered the gun and frowned.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Carol asked.

"After I found out you and Daryl were gone, we decided to go look for you," Tyreese said. Beth, holding onto a long stick, was holding onto Judith while Mika stood next to her and Carol sighed.

"Let's go."

"What about Daryl?" Beth asked.

"He's heading for Terminus."

"Are we going, too?" Mika asked.

"Maybe."

Carol took hold of Mika's right hand as they headed deeper into the woods and she prayed for Daryl, Rick, Michonne and Carl's safety.

Later that day, Daryl, Michonne, Rick and Carl headed down the railroad tracks when they found a fallen sign which led to Terminus and Daryl looked at Rick.

"We're gettin' close," Daryl said.

"We need to head into the woods," Rick said.

"Right."

They walked into the woods while Daryl hoped Carol wasn't following them and Daryl walked a little faster.

It didn't take long for them to arrive at the fence leading into Terminus

"We need to spread out. Look for an opening. But stay close," Rick said and Daryl headed off. Daryl walked along while he looked at the fence, but he also looked around for Carol. He stopped when he heard something as he aimed the crossbow, but it was only a squirrel and he lowered he crossbow.

"Carol?! I know you're out here. Go back to the cabin. Now," he said in a soft voice then he walked on.

After making sure they were safe, Daryl walked back to see Rick kneeling near the tote bag he had found when Rick placed the Colt Python in the tote bag and he looked at Daryl.

"Just in case," Rick said as he placed the gun back in the tote bag, closed the tote bag then he started burying the tote bag in the hole he had dug.

"You sure this is a good idea?" Daryl asked while he looked through the chain link fence.

"No, but we don't have a choice."

After Michonne and Carl had joined them, Rick, Daryl, Carl and Michonne climbed up and over the chain link fence then jumped down and they headed for the buildings. Cautiously, they went inside one of the buildings when they heard someone talking and Rick walked to the white hair woman reading the announcements.

"Hello," Rick said.

The woman stopped talking and the people in the room turned to look at the strangers.

"Well, it looks like Hubert is on watch," a young man said while putting down the paint brush and he walked to Rick. "You here to rob us?"

"No," Rick said with a shake of his head.

"Well, we usually do this at the tracks. Welcome to Terminus. I'm Gareth. Looks like you've been on the road for a long time," Gareth said with a smile as he glanced at them.

"We have. I'm Rick. That's Carl. Daryl. Michonne."

Daryl listened to Rick and Gareth talking as he glanced at the others and a strange feeling like something was wrong moved through him.

"Alex!" Gareth said as Alex walked to him and Gareth smiled. "He's a part of the welcome wagon. He's going to take you outside and ask you a few questions. But we need to see your weapons. Just lay them on the floor in front of you."

Nodding his head, Rick removed the gun from his holster and he placed the gun and the rest of his weapons on the ground. Daryl watched Michonne place the katana on the ground and Carl placed the gun on the ground.

"Your turn," Gareth said and Daryl looked at the crossbow.

"Put the crossbow down, Daryl," Rick said.

"I promise we will take good care of it."

Sighing, Daryl placed the crossbow and his knife on the ground and Gareth smiled. Daryl was starting to hate that smile and Daryl glared at him. Alex walked closer as he searched them and Gareth nodded his head.

"See, that wasn't so hard."

"Yeah," Daryl grumbled as Alex handed the katana back to Michonne, but Daryl quickly reached for the crossbow.

"Follow me," Alex said and they followed him outside.

Outside, Rick walked next to Alex as Rick looked around and he noticed the people staring at them. He also noticed the flower boxes, the laundry drying on clothes lines and he could just smell what smelt like cooking meat.

"Does Gareth run this place?" Rick asked.

"No, that would be our mother, Mary," Alex said when they stopped and Rick looked at the woman standing at the grill

"Hello. Who do we have here?" Mary asked.

"This is Rick. That's Carl. That's Daryl. That's Michonne. They just arrived."

"I didn't hear the gate opening."

"We climbed over the back fence," Rick explained.

"Came in through the backdoor? Smart," she said then she looked at Alex. "Who was on guard?"

"Gareth said it might be Hubert," Alex said.

"Well….," she said, looking at Rick. "Welcome to Terminus. I'm Mary."

"Pleased to meet you," Rick said then he looked at Alex. "We were told we were going to be asked some questions."

"Just a mere formality."

Daryl listened to Rick answering Mary's questions as he, Michonne and Carl did the same and Mary seemed pleased by their answers.

"Well, now that is over with, I guess we need to assign you a place to stay," Mary said as she looked at Alex. "Do you have room at your place?"

"Yes, I do," Alex said.

"Then you'll be staying with Alex," she said, looking at Rick.

"Thank you," Rick said with a nod. They watched Mary walking away as Alex smiled and he pointed for them to follow him. Daryl heard the voice of the woman they had seen earlier and he wasn't sure if he liked what she was saying. Alex led them to one of the brick buildings when he went up the stairs and he opened the door.

"Don't like this," Daryl grumbled.

"Stay alert," Rick warned and they nodded.

"Come in," Alex said and they followed him inside. Rick noticed how neat and tidy the living room looked as Alex closed the door and Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Carl stood at the center of the room. "Sam!? Sam, I'm home!"

"Who's Sam?" Michonne asked.

"He is the young man who's living with me."

Sam walked out of the kitchen when he stopped and Daryl noticed the slight frightened look on Sam's face.

"Who are they?" Sam asked, walking to Alex. Rick noticed Sam recognized him as Rick barely shook his head and Sam sighed.

"This is Rick. That is Carl. Michonne and Daryl. They've just arrived," Alex explained.

"Mary and Gareth are letting them stay?"

"Yes."

"They're going to be living here with us?"

"Yes."

"Is there a problem?" Rick asked and Daryl saw the doubt in Rick's eyes.

"No."

"Uh…," Sam said as he looked back toward the kitchen. "Dinner's ready."

"What are we having?"

"Steak and potatoes."

"Want some?" Alex asked, looking at Rick. Even though he knew they were hungry, Rick wasn't sure if they should eat anything until they knew it was safe and he saw Michonne barely shaking her head.

"No, we're good," Rick said and Alex nodded.

"Well, let me show you to your rooms."

Rick watched Alex walking to the stairs as they followed him upstairs and Alex showed them the extra bedrooms. Daryl walked into the room as he closed the door and he headed for the window. He looked outside while he watched people walking by then he noticed Mary walking toward Gareth. He leaned against the windowsill as he watched them and he frowned.

"Have you talked with the strangers?" Garth asked as he looked toward Alex' house, but he didn't see Daryl looking out of the window.

"Yes, I have," Mary said.

"Are they staying?"

"Yes."

"Don't you think it's odd?"

"Do I think it's odd that two groups of people show up within a day of each other? Yes, I do think it's odd."

"That man… Rick… He said they aren't here to rob us."

"And you believe them?"

"No."

"Neither do I."

"Where did you put them?"

"They are at Alex' house."

"I hope Alex doesn't mind having more guests"

"I'm sure he can handle it."

Gareth walked away as Mary turned, but not before Daryl moved away from the window. He leaned against the wall while the smell of food made his stomach growl and he frowned.

"Shit," Daryl grumbled when he headed out of the bedroom and he saw Rick standing at the top of the stairs. "Hey."

"Hey," Rick said.

"You sure you don't wanna go get somethin' to eat?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"You really don't trust 'em, do you?"

"No, I don't."

"Then why don't we just leave?"

"Didn't you notice how they didn't seem that surprised when we showed up?"

"You think some of the others might be here? Glenn maybe? Or Maggie?"

"Dunno. That's why I want to stay. If they are here…"

"An' they're bein' held prisoner…"

"These people are gonna learn they're fucking with the wrong people."

"Maybe we should go take a look 'round. I mean they can't fault us for doin' that."

"I was going to suggest that."

"What about patrols?"

"If there are any, we'll deal with them."

Nodding, Daryl watch Rick heading for Michonne and Carl's rooms then Daryl leaned against the wall, crossed his arms over his chest and he wondered where Carol was.

In the woods, Carol, Tyreese, Beth and the girls walked to the railroad tracks and Carol saw the sign on the ground. She flipped the sign over when she looked at the map and Tyreese stood next to her.

"I think we're almost there," Carol said.

"Good. I'm getting tired," Beth said.

"So am I," Mika said.

Carol felt the guilt moving through her as they headed down the railroad tracks and she hoped Daryl, Rick, Michonne and Carl were alright. They kept walking when Tyreese thought he saw something and he stopped.

"Carol," he called out and they walked back to him. Judith was asleep in the carrier on his back as he looked toward the woods and Carol tried to see what he was looking at.

"Is that a cabin?" Beth asked.

"Looks like," Tyreese said. They walked down the path when they stopped at the small cabin and Tyreese signaled for Beth to stay with Mika. After Carol removed Judith from the carrier, she handed Judith to Beth as Carol and Tyreese headed for the small cabin and Tyreese looked in the window. He couldn't really see into the small cabin and he tapped his knuckles a few times against the glass. When no Walkers appeared, he looked at Carol then he nodded his head. Carol headed for the front door as she careful opened the door and she moved back. She quickly looked inside when she nodded and Tyreese walked to her. They walked inside as Tyreese pointed the rifle and Carol held the bow in her right hand. They inspected the small cabin, but they didn't find any Walkers and Tyreese looked at the doorway.

"All clear," he said and Beth led Mika and Judith inside the cabin. They walked inside as Carol took Judith from Beth and Carol looked at Mika standing in the doorway. Mika looked out toward the woods as she sniffed and she wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Carol?" Mika asked and Carol looked at her.

"Yes?" Carol asked.

"Do you think Daryl's ok?"

"Knowing him, yes, he's ok," she said with a smile, but something told her there was something wrong and she looked toward the window.

Terminus

Rick, Michonne, Carl and Daryl carefully walked by the buildings as they looked for anything suspicious when Rick stopped and he held his hand up. They pressed their bodies again the wall while Rick quickly looked around the corner, watched the guards walking by then he looked at the door to his right. He tried to get the door open, but the door was locked and he frowned.

"Damn," Rick whispered when Daryl walked closer and Daryl knelt down in front of the door. Rick watched Daryl remove the lockpick kit Joe had given him after the altercation with Len from the pocket of his jeans and Daryl opened the lockpick kit. "Where did you get that?"

"Joe," Daryl said, looking at the lock.

"Do you know how to pick locks?" Carl asked and Daryl arched an eyebrow.

"Yeah."

"Who taught you how to do it?"

"Merle."

Michonne kept watch while Daryl picked the lock then he stood and he opened the door. He put the lockpick kit away as they walked inside and Rick closed the door. They were shocked to see the tables against the walls and scattered about the room and lit candles were sitting in holders on the tables.

"What the hell?" Daryl whispered.

Rick walked by the tables as he looked at clothes, shoes, boots, some other things and he frowned. On the wall above the tables were names, locations and ages painted in what Rick thought was either red paint or blood and Rick tilted his head to one side.

The names on the walls were:

Scott Johnson, Guenn Johnson, Judy Adams, Kristen Miller, Freemen, Amanda Knight, Zane Camden, David Cornett, Jessica Ogden, Timothy Walters, Michael Ellwood, Sean Cook, Jessica Bent, Robert Wolford, James Smith, Nick Smith, Brian Case, April Case, Justine Burke, James Wellborne , Billye Holfield, Duncan, Brendan Poole, Brittany Rose, Ben Ross, Michael Roper, Matt Ayers, John Campbell, Jenn Batch, Joy Johnson, Christian, John Lee, Sara Addison, Suzy, Fred, Shuford Adams, Christopher Adams, Thomas Richards, Eric Baker, Brendon Kochin, Ashley Bennett, David Diamond, Barbara Baldwin

"Dad!" made Rick turn as he walked to Carl and Carl pointed to the words written on the walls.

""You're the butcher or you're the cattle."? "Never Again, Never Trust."? "We First, Always."?" Rick said and Daryl and Michonne walked to them.

"What the hell does that mean?" Michonne asked.

"It means all of you are in big trouble," made them turn around and Mary, Gareth and some guards armed with rifles stood in front of the door.
