The quidditch team (minus Harry) were sitting in the common room late at night, hardly anybody was down there except a few kids that were trying to finish their homework. Oliver had told everyone the night before that he wanted to hold one last meeting so they can go over the plays one final time. And they had all shown up except their little Seeker and they couldn't find him anywhere. So to say they were worried would be an understatement.
"Where do you think he could be," Katie asked nervously from the couch that she was sharing with Alicia and Angelina. Oliver saw as the twins shared a worried glance.
"What is it you two," he asked them.
"We went to go check on our dear brother," one of them said they weren't sure which.
"But we couldn't find him," the other finished.
"So if Harry is missing and so is your brother, then that means Granger must be with them right," Angelina spoke up.
As they were going to continue the conversation they heard the door to the common room open. They all turned their heads to see Professor McGonagall walk in with Ron and Hermione. The twins instantly got up at the sight of their brother, and the others following when they noticed the duo was missing their third member.
"Professor, what are you doing here? Where's Harry?" Oliver asked, instantly taking over as the leader of the group.
"It would seem, Mr. Wood, that there was an incident and Mr. Potter is currently in the hospital wing" as soon as those past last words left her mouth there were shouts and cries asking what happened, "stop screaming this instant or I will not be able to answer" all of them instantly shut their mouths and looked a bit guilty.
"Can you please tell us what happened Professor" Alicia soon asked
"And what is wrong with Harry?" Angelina spoke up.
McGonagall sighed "Earlier today Mr. Potter came to me about an important situation, and I was foolish to not believe him which almost cost him his life" at this she heard sharp intakes of breaths and some gasp, "he is now in the hospital wing unconscious, we are unsure how long it will be until he will wake up."
"Can we see him, Professor?" Katie asked her in a quiet voice.
Professor McGonagall looked at the quidditch team and could see that they were worried, even Wood, so she eventually sighed "follow me, you can go see him for a short time, then you can go back and visit him tomorrow on your own time. Mr. Weasley, Ms. Granger I suggest you head to bed, it's been a long night" they all nodded and quickly followed their head of house out of the common room while the younger two made it to the stairs.
After a walk through the castle to the hospital wing that felt like forever they finally made it. When they opened the door they heard another voice "Minerva, what's going on here, the boy needs his rest" Madam Pomfrey spoke while coming out of her office.
"They just wanted to check on Mr. Potter Poppy, don't worry we won't be long" the healer gave a nod "he's over in the corner you six".
They all looked over and quickly walked to the corner. The girls took the chairs around the bed while the boys stood.
"He looks so small" Oliver said. Ever since he met the boy he knew something wasn't right. So he had taken it upon himself to compliment him on a good practice or whenever he did something good. And to become a surrogate older brother to him.
"I know, it doesn't seem right" Angelina responded just staring at Harry. It didn't seem right to any of them. Over the time that the team had known him, he wormed his way into all of their hearts, he became like a little brother to all of them, and they tried to be the best older siblings they could be and give him some type of family. He was the one they would all go to if they were having a bad day. He could make them all smile no matter what. So to see him look so small and still did not sit right with them.
Alicia was on the other side of the bed moving his hair out of his face "I don't like this" she whispered.
"Me neither" Katie spoke from where she was holding Harry's hand. Not once did Fred or George speak, they were in too much shock and also angry that no one listened to Harry leading him to end up like this. After staying for another 10 minutes they were finally made to leave. The walk back was quiet, not one of them having anything to say.
The next day they all made sure someone was always watching over Harry. They didn't want him to wake up with nobody there. They would talk to him the whole time, hoping it would wake him up, from Quidditch to pranks the twins were planning. Soon one day passed to two and they were now worrying more than ever, well Oliver was, the game for the quidditch cup was tomorrow and they were down a seeker.
Soon it was the day of the quidditch match and the six-team members were in the Gryffindor locker room getting ready to go out and play. Oliver like every other game cleared his throat.
"Alright team, I know this game might be hard" but before he could finish the twins spoke up.
"Hard? Wood we are missing our seeker" one of the twins said.
"Yeah, we are going to be destroyed" the other twins finished.
Oliver looked at them like he wanted to say something, but didn't know what.
"It doesn't feel right to be playing without Harry," Katie said from where she was standing in between Alicia and Angelina.
"Maybe we should just forfeit.." Alicia thought out loud. And this is what finally snapped Oliver into action.
"Alright now listen hear, I know this game is gonna be hard, but Harry wouldn't want this he would want us trying our hardest no matter what" and that seemed to finally do the trick. They all stood straighter ready to go. They heard the crowds getting louder as they were about to go out.
"For Harry," Oliver said, "for Harry" was repeated back as they walked out to the pitch.
An hour later they walked back into the changing room with bruises. "Alicia was right we should've forfeited " Angelina groaned as she laid down on the bench.
"It wasn't that bad" Oliver tried but his teammates would hear none of it.
"Wasn't that bad? We lost 320-90 Oliver" Alicia shouted. Everyone then started arguing about what they should've done when a bang went off. They looked over to see Katie pointing her wand in the air. "Look arguing isn't going to solve anything, let's just get changed, and then we can go visit Harry before we head off to bed" The rest nodded and changed before they headed out.
It was the next day around noon when they were sitting in the common room just like a few days prior, still missing their seeker. And just like before the entrance to the common room opened an in came their head of house. When she walked in she spotted them all sitting around the fire.
"Good, you're all here. I came to inform you that Mr. Potter has finally woken up and that you may see him if you wish" but before she could even finish her sentence they were all up and out the door. After only a few minutes of running, which would've surely made them pass out if not for their quidditch practice, they made it to the hospital wing. When they got there they the Headmaster came out of the wing.
"Ah, I assume you are here for Mr. Potter, he is currently going through his stash of candy and I am sure he would love some help with that," he told them with a twinkle in his eye before he turned around and left. Once they busted through the doors, they spotted Harry still laying in bed, but this time he was surrounded by candies. When he heard the doors swing open he looked over to see his team staring at him. He swallowed the chocolate frog head he had just bitten in two and smiled.
"Hey guys" he spoke so casually with a wave. That seemed to snap them out of whatever they were in.
"Harry" they all screamed and ran over to where he was laying. The girls all ran to give him hugs, which he still tensed at, and sat down next to him. The boys ruffle his hair or patted his knee and brought up a few more chairs to surround the bed. And that's how the resident healer found them when she walked out of her office, six members surrounding their seventh and going through all the candies joking around and laughing. As she walked back into her office she couldn't help but think that they looked like their own little family, and remind her of a group of boys she had known years ago.
