A few days later, Sandra was working on roasting a rabbit over the fire on a spit, she'd never thought her girl scout skills would come in handy. Looking over, she watched as Jason showed Lily how to interact with the wild deer, and right where they liked to be scratched behind the ears. It surprised her, how connected he was to nature, but he had lived his entire life here. Her sister's giggling made her smile, and she knew that they were safe here, considering no one was willing to mess with Jason. "Hey, dinner's up!" They both walked over, and she smiled at him, "Ever had roasted rabbit?"

He shook his head, but took the paper plate she offered, it smelled really good. Taking a bite, he was surprised, it was actually really tender. Thinking about it, he decided against telling her that he never really ate, and when he did it was often raw. "It's great."

"Thanks, old family recipe." She took a bite, it was 100% worth the six hours of cooking, "I'm glad you like it."

"Your food is always good Sandie!" Lily said with a full mouth, "I want to learn!"

Jason smiled behind his mask at the little girl's innocence, she had no idea who he was, or what he had done in the past. Realizing both of them were tired, he gestured to the cabin, and watched as Sandra carried her sister inside after they finished eating. Taking a deep breath after they were out of sight, he pulled out one of the smaller journals that he had, and began writing with the pen he'd been given.

It's weird, I never really thought being in control would lead to this. But I have to admit that Mother wasn't wrong, Sandra is a good girl, compared to her friends I slaughtered a few days ago. The sessions have been weird, but good to have a laugh, and people to relate to. I actually wouldn't mind having them stay, but it would be hard for me to watch either of them die, I don't know what it is… It's almost as if I'm coming to see them as family, I want to protect them. Weird, isn't it? I'm a crazy psychotic killer and ended up taking in a woman and the child she's caring for…

"Jason." He looked up to see his mother there, it wasn't often her ghost appeared, but he found it oddly coincidental that she appeared at the moment he was writing down his private thoughts, "It's alright, I know you will protect her."

"I don't know why I feel that way…." He signed, "It's weird to me, I've never felt such a strong urge to protect anyone, despite all the people I've spared now."

"Seems like you have a crush, my special boy, and I believe she may have one on you as well. Are you going to speak of it with your new friends?"

"No, they'd mock me, not to mention how much I'd be ridiculed by Freddy. He's a total ass."

Pamela sat next to her son, her ghostly form wavering, "I believe you'll be alright; I don't know if the woman who sits with all of you would let him do that. God forbid, I never-"

"Never expected the sheer aggression and power."

"Yes, that's one way of putting it, but I see now that she was right, but I still hate her with a vengeance."

"I can tell."

Sandra watched out the window as Jason conversed with who she assumed was his mother's ghost, but wondered if she should tell him that she was able to see spirits. It had made her an outcast, but also someone people came to, as she was able to help them overcome their grief by locating the spirt and bringing them to light. She'd been able to do it since she was a child, and she hoped that he wouldn't think she was crazy. Caught up in her thoughts, she jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder, "You must be Sandra."

She nodded, "Yes, I'm assuming you are Jason's mother?"

"Yes," the woman's spirit nodded, "I hope that you are not afraid of what he is, although he has become his own, he still sees people in the way I showed him."

"I understand Mrs. Voorhees, and I won't stop him, I'm thankful he's protecting my sister and I."

"Yes, he is a sweet boy, my special boy. But I must tell you, he will never be able to speak physically."

"I know, fortunately, I'm fluent in sign language, we've had several conversations."

"That's wonderful, but I understand you are worried that things may go astray when the time comes."

"Well, I don't think Jason would really understand periods…."

Pamela's laugh was surprisingly light-hearted, "Well, fortunately, he's already asked me to help with that…."
