Jason growled as he heard cars roll up, and was certain that someone had come to the camp. But when he looked outside, he realized that it was a group of children, and the adults looked frustrated. He quickly realized that they seemed to have broken down. With how young the children were, he decided against murder today, and went to get Sandra. Maybe she would know what to do…

Vincent swore, "I told you this school van wasn't any good Ellie."

"How was I supposed to know?" she glared at her co-worker, "You're the mechanic."

"Sure." He pulled out a bag of tools, "The problem is I can't tell what the issue is."

"I might." They both jumped as a woman walked out of the woods, she couldn't have been older than twenty-one, "I've fixed a couple cars, even if it's not fixable, I might be able to give you a temporary fix until you can get down to the local mechanic shop. It's about twenty miles down the road at the edge of the nearest town."

"Are you a local?" Vincent handed her the bag, "I-I-I've heard about this place…."

"Well, you could say that, but if we get this fixed and you on your way, you should be fine." Opening up the hood, she looked at the engine, "Looks like you're low on coolant, your oil's leaking too. You'll be fine if you keep off the cooler till you get there, but the oil's a concern. Do you have any duct tape with you?"

"I don't-"

"Actually, Devon put some in his backpack." Ellie reached into the car, "He wasn't supposed to ad I had to take it from him, I hope you don't mind camo."

"It'll do the job." The woman took the tape and began wrapping it around the pipes, "There we are. I'd recommend you keep the heater running to keep heat of the engine and the windows open. Just head south twenty miles and you can't miss the shop."

Vincent was surprised how quickly the woman had fixed it, and held out a hand, "Thank you."

"No problem, I know I'd certainly hate to be stranded, but I'd recommend you get a check-over by the techs. That way you can give a report to whatever your employer is, this thing probably won't last another year."

Ellie nodded as she and Vincent jumped into the car, and looked at the woman's face, there was something familiar about it. Getting in, she started the engine and drove off, "Did she look familiar to you?"

Vincent was confused, "No, why?"

"I don't know, she looks like your aunt. The one that was disowned after getting married?"

"Maybe, but I can't really be sure." He pulled out his phone and scrolled down, trying to find a photo of his Aunt Marie. But as he looked at it, he realized she was right, "But they live on the other side of the country. I would know if I had any cousins."

"I don't know, did your mom ever mention it?"

"Vaguely, but I don't' know if it's really possible."

"Well, we'll probably be in the shop a while, give her a call."

"Okay…."

Wiping the dirt off her face, Sandra cracked her knuckles, it had been a while since she worked on a vehicle. Suddenly, she heard a twig snap behind her, "Do you always have to do that?"

"Did I scare you?"

She could tell he was smirking behind the mask, "No, but I can tell you like to scare people. But I've gotten used to it."

"You didn't really react the first time you saw me."

"Meh, I guess much doesn't phase me. I have…. My own reasons for that."

"Reasons?"

She took a deep breath, "I can see ghosts, you know, like talking to the dead?"

"Must be why Mother said she talked to you."

"Does she get in your head a lot?"

He grimaced, "Depends…."
