Cinder sighs as she looks around the circular chamber. She didn't know what compelled her to trust Oscar but there was no going back now. After stealing the lamp and using its last wish Cinder couldn't just turn a blind eye anymore.

The lamp showed her everything and she learned that Salem's final goal wasn't ruling the world but destroying it. Now Cinder felt like a fool, Salem promised her power, but in the end she was planning to kill her just like everyone else on the planet. Salem played her like a fiddle, no scratch that fiddles were actually hard to play, Salem played her like the cheap kazoo she was.

Cinder wasn't hero that much she knew about herself. But she couldn't just stand back and let her evil master destroy Remnant; she was one of the idiots living on it. She may not like the giant piece of rock all that much but she would prefer it to stay intact, thank you very much.

That led to her current predicament, as powerful as she was she knew she couldn't take Salem on her own. So that led her to form her own team. Too bad they still couldn't decide on what to do.

"You called that a plan?" Mercury barked, out of everyone in the room he was the least cooperative. "We are just going to steal from an immortal witch, what could go wrong?" He added sarcastically.

"You want to talk about bad plan? How about the one that involved blowing us up." She stared pointedly at Oscar and his cane. Mercury's plan to drop what was equivalent of atomic bomb on Salem while in her close proximity was the most stupidest things she heard in her entire life.

"Well I didn't have time to work the minutiae of the plan." Mercury defended himself weakly.

"What's important now is that we get the lamp away from Salem." Emerald butted into the conversation but Mercury just scoffed

"So we can give it to Ruby and let Atlas throw us into prison, if not outright kill us?" The silver-haired boy asked looking at Emerald as if she was stupid.

"We will figure out that part later." Said Cinder

"We have to stop Salem." Emerald added, it was good to see that she was still loyal to her even in a time like this.

"How?!" Mercury asked, not hiding his agitation in the slightest.

"I have a plan." Cinder said trying to take the lead in this conversation.

"You got a plan?" Once again Mercury let his thoughts be known, disbelieve clear in his voice.

"… Yes." Cinder nodded her head.

"First of all you copy me for when I said I had a plan-"

"No, I'm not, people say that all the time. It's not that unique thing to say." Cinder interrupted but he just ignored her.

"-Secondly, I don't believe you have a plan." Mercury crossed his arms, his look challenging Cinder

"I have… part of a plan." Said Cinder her voice rising.

"What percentage of the plan do you have?" Hazel asked, speaking for the first time since they all sat down.

"You don't get to ask questions after you persuaded us to abandon Cinder back at Haven." Emerald rounded on him.

"How should I have known she was still alive?" Hazel tried to defend himself.

"Well you could have at least looked."Muttered Cinder

"She's right you don't get opinion." Mercury agreed before he turned his head back to Cinder. "What percentage?"

"I don't know, 12 %?" Cinder's voice was unsure.

"12 %?!" Repeated Mercury, before laughing hysterically.

"That's a fake laugh." Cinder scoffed.

"It's real!"

"Totally fake!"

"That is the most real, authentic, hysterical laugh of my entire life because that is not a plan!" Mercury leaned in closer his eyes locking with Cinder's.

"That's barely a concept." Emerald muttered just loud enough for Cinder to hear.

"You are taking his side." Cinder asked in disbelieve.

"Hmpf" Neo added her own two cents into the conversation, before taking a clipboard, writing something on it and showing it to others.

Mercury squinted his eyes before he frowned in confusion. "So what if it's better than 11 %? What the hell does that have to do with anything?!"

"Thank you Neo." Cinder patted the mute girl on her shoulder before a determined looked crossed her face. "Come on guys, Salem is going to be her in two seconds. I need your help."

Cinder took in the uncertain faces of Emerald, Neo, Mercury and Hazel. They were just like her, misfits working for an evil master mind because they have no better choice. Well that changes now.

"I look around at us, you know what I see? Losers." Everyone looked at Cinder with confusion their faces, but that didn't discourage her. "I mean, folks who have lost stuff, and we have man, we have all of us! Our homes, our families, normal lives and usually life takes more than gifts but not today. Today it's given us something, it has given us a chance."

"To do what?" Hazel asked

"To give a shit for once, not run away." Determination echoed in Cinder's voice and a look of anger crossed her eyes. "I for one am NOT going to stand by and watch as Salem wipes out millions of innocent lives."

"But Cinder, stopping Salem, it's impossible." For once Mercury's voice was solemn and his head was hanging low before he looked Cinder straight in the eyes. "You are asking us to die."

After a while Cinder nodded. "Yes, I guess I am." Shame crept over her so she looked at ground not meeting their gazes.

"Cinder." Emerald called her name and she looked at the green-haired girl. "I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies. I will be grateful to die among my friends." With those words Emerald stood up, conviction twinkling behind those red eyes.

"You've grown since the first time I saw you." Hazel said standing up as well, a hint of a smile on his face. "I will fight beside you and in the end I will see my sister again."

Next up was Neo who simply nodded and stood up next to the others. Now all four of them looked at Mercury, who was the last one still sitting on the ground.

The silver-haired boy just sighed. "Aww what the hell, wasn't planning on living that long anyway." He said before he stood up and looked and each one of them. "Now I'm standing, y'all happy? We're all standing up now. Bunch of jackasses standing in a circle."
