Walking down the long hallways of the Library, Cal following her every step, Skye takes in all the changes that have happened since she last visit her old home. Quite a few new objects have been added, but she can also see quite a few missing, which makes her wonder what else Jenkins is keeping from her. Or rather forgot to tell her when they were talking earlier. The one keeping secrets from her is Flynn.
Reaching the old front doors to the Library, she walks up to one of the large lions beside the stairs. Placing a hand on the lions head, it moves back to show her the entry down to the basement. She had not thought about going down there, but something was calling her.
"Stay here Cal."
She orders the magical sword as she starts walking down the old stairs. She can hear how the lion returns to its proper place, turning everything around her into complete darkness. Knowing it won't be for long, she keeps walking down. The moment her foot hits the floor, a few, quite old torches light up.
Following the narrowed hallway, her eyes land on the old iron gate further down and she can see someone movie behind it.
"What do you want this time Jenkins?"
She hears a tired female voice asks a she gets closer and Skye can't help but to smile slightly.
"Oh, you did not just take me for being Jenkins, Nikki."
Skye says, finally stepping into the last light so the person behind the bars can see her properly. She can see how the other woman's eyes grow large before soften and she smiles.
"Skye."
She says in a low and calm voice, making Skye somewhat happy she decided to come down here. Turning to the side she pulls the level and the iron gate opens. Nicole Noone rises for the only bed in the small cell she is being kept in and steps forwards to hug Skye. Welcoming the hug, Skye buries her head in Nicole's shoulder, holding on to the other woman with all she have.
Judson and Charlene may have been the people who raised her, but Nicole have always been the person Skye was closes to. She had after all been the person who found Skye all those years ago, she is also the only one that knows what happened that day.
"If I knew you would return back, I wouldn't have made the comment about Jenkins."
Nicole tells her and Skye smiles weakly.
"I know, but it was sudden. I had to get away from the people I was helping."
She explains in a low voice, which leads to the end of the hug. Nicole pushes her slightly back so she can take Skye in properly before leading her over to the bed.
"Tell me what's wrong."
She says, placing one arm around Skye's shoulders. With a deep breath, Skye starts to explain everything that has happened since the last time they saw one another, Nicole keeps quiet during the whole time.
"And I had to escape when we were still in mid air, I couldn't risk opening a door once we landed in case D.O.S.A were there, waiting."
She finish explaining and Nicole pulls her closer.
"You have a hint of might they are after, don't you?"
She asks and Skye nods her head.
"Maybe, I just wish I'm wrong. I need to check with the clipbook about it to be sure."
She says in a low voice, her eyes locked on her hands as she speaks. Seeing how Nicole puts her free hand on top of hers, she turns her head to look at the now immortal woman beside her.
"I know it's a lot right now, but you can do this. I trained you to be your very best after all and you can handle Flynn, and if the other Librarians and his new Guardian is being to annoying, you know the Library will do anything for you if you ask. Or just take Cal with you where ever you go."
Nicole tells her, giving her a warm smile in the process. Hearing this, Skye smiles slightly and she nods her head. She can feel how her wings starts to grow slightly, not enough to cover up what she had lost nearly half an hour ago.
"I guess I should go up there and see what is going on."
She says with a sigh and Nicole nods her head and pulls her into yet another tight hug.
"I'm down here if you need me."
She says and Skye nods her head slightly before releasing the hug. Rising from the bed, she heads for the lever and pulls it once more. She hates this part, hates that she need to leave Nicole stuck in an old cell underneath the Library. Just because Jenkins thinks she is dangerous.
Seeing how Nicole gives her one last warm smile, she smiles back before heading up the corridor once more. The torches dying one after one as she pass them on her way to the stairs. As she starts walking up, the lion moves once more to shine down a light so she can see where she is going.
Stepping into the main floor once more and hearing how the lion returning to its original place for a second time this day, Skye jumps slightly when Cal shows up right in her face.
"Careful there!"
She tells the magical sword as she pushed it back carefully, making sure she won't cut herself.
"I didn't know those lions could move."
A female voice speaks up, making Skye turn to the side, realising why Cal acted the way he did. Her eyes lands on a smiling young woman with red hair, dressed similarly to Simmons. The woman is smiling big and there is a hint of curiosity in her eyes as they travel from Skye and towards the lion.
"It's for your own best that you forget you saw them move at all."
Skye tells her, hearing how her voice has taken on a more defensive tone. The young woman turns her full attention towards Skye once more and to Skye's surprise, her smile never falters.
"Alright. I'm Cassandra Cillian, happy to meet another one knowing about this place. It was starting to get boring being one of two girls in this building. The boys can be quite, urgh from times."
She happily explain and Skye can't help it, she starts to relax slightly and she can feel a smile growing. A smile that dies down when she sees how Cassandra's eyes travels to her back and her own smile grows smaller. Before Skye had had chance to figure out what is going on in her mind or even try and figure out what to say next, Cassandra looks at her once more, eyes shining with the same determination she has seen in both Charlene and Nicole throughout the years.
"Have you been going around doubting yourself?"
Cassandra then asks and Skye starts to blink. This wasn't what she had expected to hear and seeing how Cassandra shakes her head, Skye is sure the surprise is showing on her face.
"Your wings, they are slightly smaller now than when you landed earlier. Jenkins told us a bit of your story, it was the only way to calm Eve down. I also ended up hitting Jake for making a mean comment about you."
Cassandra explains and Skye doesn't know what to think. If it had been any other time, she would be mad at Jenkins for speaking about her story. Bit hearing what this woman, who she doesn't even know, have done when someone was speaking bad about her throws her off.
"Thank you, I guess?!"
Skye managed to get out, only to see how Cassandra smiles big once more and Skye can see that she is feeling proud over herself for what she has done.
"Hey, maybe you can help us. The clip books are trying to tell us something but we have no idea of where to even start."
Cassandra adds and Skye nods her head. Turning her head towards Cal, she nods it to the side to signal the sword to follow her, just like she follows Cassandra.
