Chapter 2:

(One year later.).

SG-1 just return from scouting one of Ba'al's shipyards, the amount of ships were huge. To be honest it wasn't that surprising for the three original members of SG-1, but to Mitchell, it was quite scary. Sam had to admit, the guy wasn't so bad, but she still thought that the position belongs to Jack.

After the briefing she decided to go home. She had enough excitement for the day. So, slipping into her civvies she took her things and drove home. At her place she had a hot shower, slipped into her pajamas and sat on her couch with a photograph of her and Jack plaging pool at O'Malley's. She won two thousand bucks out of that one match. She held the photograph tight to her chest. Tears came rolling down. Every single day for that past year she hoped for him coming home, walking through that gate and she just leaps into his arms, no care of the world.

But it is all a dream, a fantasy, a life out of reach, she lost the very thing she ever held dear besides her father and brother. The man she believed fo be her soulmate.

Atlantis:

Jack was with his team of the past year. To be honest, he grew to like them. Lt. Colonel John Sheppard gave him the idea of himself. Teyla gave him the idea of an alien version of Carter, Ronen gave the idea of Teel'c. While McKay… … well, Jack couldn't place him quite in the right slot. But they worked well together, but he felt like he was the intruder.

He doesn't regret leaving SG-1, he regrets abandoning them. He just made this choice over night. His decision stuck with him. He felt like the villain in this tale, but he doesn't give a shit. He is what he is. Here, he doesn't have to worry about Carter, here, he could be the thing he believed to have become. A soldier, heartless killing machine. Only there to do the job, done and wait for the next assignment.

But his trail of thoughts were interupted when a familiar sound came from the sky. "Dart!" he shouts. His team going into hiding but before he could get out of the way, he got beamed up. John was the first to respond. "Not good!".

Earth:

Sam was in her lab playing with Jack's yo-yo. She was supposed to fill out her report on one of the doohickeys they found on PT-047, but she was lost in thought. But her trail of thought was interrupted when Daniel came hammering on her door. He was out of breath. "Sam! Hammond's office NOW!". Sam dropped the yo-yo and made a run for it. In the office, Hammond seemed stressed. "Colonel O'Neill has been captured by the Wraith, you are going to Atlantis to rescue him. Grab everything you need.".

Sam didn't need to be told twice, within thirty minutes, she was ready to roll. Teel'c stood next to her. "Major Carter, are you well?" he asked. Sam nods. "Let's bring the Colonel home.".

Arriving at Atlantis, McKay greeted them. "Welcome, we have a huge problem." He said. And it was a problem. John was showing a video that was send by the Wraith. The demands were simple, give the gate address to Atlantis and they will have Colonel O'Neill back. What a stupid deal!

But to prove that they are serious, the queen started feeding on Jack. His screams were painful! And once at the brink of death, his life would be restored. The team watched the tape in horror, but Sam was taken it the hardest. "What happens when they keep the process going?" she asked. Doctor Beckett then said: "If he overdoses on the Enzeim, he will either die, or be brainwashed.".

Sam didn't like the of her Jack being another creature's puppet. Her Jack? She never thought of him like that in a long time. How could she? She drove him away! It was her doing! So she felt responsible in bringing him back.

There plan was simple: Go in, shoot all the bad guys, find fhe Colonel, blow the place up and get him home.

As Sam was walking for the gate, Doctor Weir caugth up with her. "Major, I hope you don't mind me asking but, you and the Colonel were close." She stated more then asked. Sam nods. "Yeah.". Weir then said: "We will get him back.". At the gate, John explained to the rescue team. "Alright lads, we go in, find the Colonel and blow the place up! No questions asked. Let's move!". McKay stood next to Sam the whole time. "First mission together, care for some drinks after the mission?" he asked. Sam ignored him and walked through the gate.

For some reason, the gate wasn't guarded. One thing was very obvious. Trouble.
