Uh...well, like the summary says, imagine if they read the poem (last chapter, it might help if you read that first). What would their reactions be?

Please forgive any typos, I was writing this in class :D

Dear Catherine

Okay, this is kinda weird... I just found a poem that Cathy wrote. Yeah, I know she writes a lot of stuff, but this was different (not that I know what she's writing about, I don't go reading all her stuff) – it was about me and Edgar – can you believe he gave her an ultimatum!

I know she's going to pick him – how can I doubt it after her speech 'it would be degrading for me to marry Heathcliff'? I still can't believe she said that. But this actually proves she's not sure – she DOES love me! - and I dont know, but I think she might be marrying him because of me. 'so I'll marry Edgar, if just for his state, for Heathcliff is my true love mate.' So have I driven her to him, or does she think she can use him to help me?

But... I don't want her charity. If she thinks I'm her soul mate, why marry someone else? Even if she does think she's helping me? Marriage is important, and I don't think she's doing it for the right reasons.

But why would she listen to me? Especiallly while Linton's around. What does she see in that...weakling? He's just a blond, pale-faced, nothing. It must be the money, 'cos I can't see anyone ever being interested in him for any other reason.

PS: I am NOT illiterate! Well...not really. Does that have something to do with it?

A.N: it's kinda short, but... thoughts? suggestions?
