Chapter Three:

Stating that the Potters were horrified by Erusa and Hail's tale was quite the understatement, but they were also somewhat relieved by the fact that Esdeath was permanently dead, probably. Though considering the fact that the cruel snow-woman was willing to delve into forbidden magic to remain alive and young for centuries, her having a backup plan in case she was killed wasn't entirely out of the question, but rather unlikely. And Esdeath had been around since the early fifthteenth century, participating in (and, according to some rumors amongst the Supernatural inhabitants of Japan, kickstarting) the various conflicts during the Sengoku period of Japan. But as horrifying as the revelations about Hail's origins and Erusa's old life as one of Esdeath's reluctant concubines were, the bonds between the Potters and the two Yuki-Onna grew stronger. Even to the point where Erusa, while hesitant, wasn't against naming the Potters as Hail's godparents.

Something that raised Erusa's suspicions, and paranoia, was a mysterious package arriving at her doorstep, with nothing more than a note welcoming her and Hail to Godric's Hollow and that the contents of the package was a present for the young Hail. Both signed only with the initials of B.O.O. Taking the package inside the house and opening it, the contents were revealed to be anything but immediately dangerous. An ice blue and white colored egg that was already suspiciously cold. Whatever was inside the egg was definitely a creature of the cold that therefore definitely didn't live in warm environments. The problem was that the Yuki-Onna couldn't figure out what kind of creature that the egg came from, though she admittedly didn't really have much knowledge about either Magical or Supernatural creatures, which made it understandable why she didn't recognize it. Nor did the Potters when the white haired snow-woman showed the egg to the Magicals. The only thing that was really certain was that the creature inside the egg was a creature of the cold, much like Erusa, Hail and Hail's parents, Esdeath and another one of the cruel snow-woman's concubines, with Esdeath being the father by a technicality and it was a technicality due to the use of magic that, while not forbidden, wasn't particularly used outside of specific situations by specific people, namely women who wanted children with other women.

While Esdeath had definitely been a cruel person and mistress (and possibly still was), it was undeniable that she was powerful in both her natural abilities as a Yuki-Onna and in Cryomancy. Ice-Magic. And the cruel snow-woman had boasted that she had developed a Cryomantic spell over the centuries that could temporarily halt the expansion of the universe, or in layman's terms, BASICALLY FREEZE TIME, named Mahāpadama by the cruel snow-woman. While the spell could in theory be used by anyone with big enough magic reserves, the sheer size of the required reserves was huge, and it required resistance or complete immunity to the cold in order to be used relatively safely for the caster. When the Potters asked the expected question of HOW, Erusa simply shrugged and stated she didn't understand how it worked either and simply rolled with it, all while calming down Hail who had started crying in response to the loud shouting.
