The phone rings. John answers the phone to hear his driver's whiny voice.

"What? ... No Chas, we're not going anywhere today. ... Because I fuckin' said so. ... Yes I do have to yell, 'cause nothing gets through your thick head. ... Well, fuck you too." Click.

The phone rings again and John answers. This time it's a distraught mother

"What now? ... Can't help you, Mr. Constantine is out. ... No, this isn't John, this is his... butler. ... Thank you for calling, I'll pass on the message. ... Fucking moron." Click.

The phone rings for a third time, and John answers it.

"What the fuck's wrong now! ... No Beeman, today's not a good time. ... Tomorrow? ... Good, bring the relics with you. ... Yes Beeman, bye." Click.

John whimpers on the bed, his arms and legs restrained. His semi-naked body is covered in cuts, searing pain washing through his stomach and back. The cuts bleed onto his uncomfortable bed, staining the greying sheets a bright red.

The phone rings for a final time, and John answers it. However, the grinning face of Balthazar does not match the harsh voice that spills from his lips. Everyone thinks it is John, but the hidden face can only be seen by the one whose voice is hiding it.
