Fears. We all have them. Some rational (Thanatophobia, which is the fear of death) and some just plain silly (Anatidaephobia, the fear that somehow, somewhere, there's always a duck watching you.) However, there is one fear that is shared by everyone across the world. It doesn't matter if you're old or young, fat or slim, male or female, straight or gay. Because the one thing that we are all scared of is the Duolingo Owl! Now, I'll be completely honest with all of you, I downloaded Duolingo ages back. I wasn't getting anywhere with it, the lessons weren't advancing and were far too easy, and I kept forgetting to practise. So, I deleted the app. Now, can someone please explain why - after almost three years - I still get notifications every now and then!!!! HOW DOES THAT WORK!?!?!!!??? I'M BEING HAUNTED BY A GREEN BLOB MEANT TO RESEMBLE AN OWL THAT SUPPOSEDLY HELPED ME LEARN GERMAN!!!!!

...no...I'm not alright!... which is why I've prepared a little one shot for all of you -the second I've done so far just randomly in the middle of a story! I don't apologise, either! So, hope you like the Avengers.

"Mr Stark! Mr Stark! Mr Stark!"

"Peter! Calm! Down!"

"It's after me!" Peter Parker tried to run past Tony Stark and up the stairs to his room, but his mentor and the man he secretly saw a a father figure pushed him back into the living area of Avengers Tower.

"What's after you?"

"No time to explain! I-"

The wall at the far side of the room seemed to explode as a giant, green... owl? - burst through and charged after Peter, who gave a frightened yell and took off running.

Tony stared on in bewilderment and slight concern, wondering if he should get on his Iron Man suit or let Peter figure this one out on his own.

"FRIDAY?"

"Mr Parker missed this week's Spanish lesson, Sir," responded the AI calmly, secretly recording the whole thing.

"Umm...okay, then. Let me know if he needs any help. I'm off to get a doughnut."
