What's up my lovelies! You didn't think I forgot about the holidays did you? I know I usually start posting these earlier in the season, but my computer sucks I need to get myself a new one hence the lack of updates which I'm really sorry about by the way!
Anyway, this isn't exactly a Thanksgiving story, kind of a before Thanksgiving kind of thing, honestly just some Romitri fluff. That's basically all the summary you guys should need! Do enjoy and remember to review!
A Fluffy Pumpkin Spice Adventure.
I groaned as Dimitri tried waking me up for what honestly felt like the millionth time already today. He usually was one of the only persons who could wake me up and not get cussed out or something, but today I was honestly leaning towards there being a first time for everything.
"Come on baby girl," He cooed in a low whisper and damn him for kissing the shell of my ear like that. Damn my traitorous body too, for shivering and snuggling into his arms as if it had a mind of its own.
"Please just let me sleep," I complained refusing to open my eyes even as I laid my head on his chest. "I'm so tired." His lips trailed to my neck, the trail of slow, sinful kisses he left on my skin forcing me to open my eyes and try futilely to hold back a moan. Unfortunately, the second my eyes opened was the second he pulled away.
"There we go," He said a stupid smirk that I wanted to smack off appearing on his beautiful face. "Awake at last."
"You suck," I grumbled. "But you're right I am awake now. So what was so important that you couldn't let me sleep?"
"Well I just thought we could go out baby," He said and I opened my mouth ready to grumble about how we had gotten in late last night, scouted out the place to make sure it was safe for when Lissa and Christian joined us later even though the alchemists in the area had said there wasn't much strigoi activity here, and most importantly the fact that I was still really tired because of…other activities, but Dimitri's next words made all of that dry up on the tip of my tongue.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, was how I ended up here, in a cozy little coffee shop in a sleepy little town somewhere in Portland Oregon, simply because I couldn't resist the sexy Russian nor could I resist food. I had to admit though, that despite my abject hatred for coffee, it was really pretty here, and best of all they had doughnuts and pancakes and all the chocolate chip muffins I could ever want, and Dimitri was more than happy to spoil me.
"Oh come on now, why did you do that? You know how I feel about coffee," I said to Dimitri who had two seconds ago nodded at the barista when she offered to get me the house special, a pumpkin spice latte.
"But a latte isn't exactly coffee Roza," He said smiling at me. I rolled my eyes.
"It's got coffee in it doesn't it?" I asked rolling my eyes yet again.
"No, it's got espresso in it." I sighed exasperatedly. "Which is basically coffee, so yes." He added with a chuckle.
"So tell her that I don't want it," I said. "Why couldn't you just let me have a hot chocolate?"
"Because you always get a hot chocolate," He said. "And I wanted you to try something new."
"Jeez Dimitri if you want me to try something new, then let's go have sex in the bathroom." He growled and I smirked. "What?" I asked. "That's something new. We've never had sex in the bathroom of a coffee shop before, have we?"
"Roza that's hardly what I meant," He said putting on that mentor voice from our academy days, but his accent was just slightly thicker than usual so I knew my words had an effect. "I just meant that you should try a new drink here and what better than a pumpkin spice latte? It's the drink of fall after all."
"But I don't like coffee," I whined. "Ugh and here she comes." I said as I caught sight of the barista coming our way, the latte in her hand. She offered up a warm smile as she set the cup in front of me, and said something about how if we needed anything else we should just ask, and I started to open my mouth to tell her that I didn't want the latte, but she was already walking away and Dimitri was shaking his head at me.
"Just one sip baby," He said. "If you don't like it then you don't have to drink it." I wanted to say no, but he was looking at me with those big chocolate eyes. And if I was being honest, the steam wafting off that cup did smell really good.
"Fine," I said gingerly picking up the cup. "Only because you asked so nicely." I slowly brought it to my lips, taking a careful sip and holy shit where had this been all my life. I knew Dimitri realized I liked it when his smile turned huge.
"It's good isn't it?" He asked and I could practically feel the smugness radiating off him, but I let it slide because yep, it was really good.
"Here," I said getting in his lap when we'd gone to the park right across the street. We had gotten another one after the first, and I was more than happy to share. "Have some." He did and that was basically how we spent the rest of the day until we had to go pick Lissa and Christian up from the airport, wrapped up in each other and at peace knowing that for the next couple of days, we didn't have the busy hassle that was life at court. No, out here we were just a regular couple who was completely in love, just a happy couple spending the holidays with their friends, and so was Lissa and Christian.
I internally vowed that I would have to thank Jeremy, the very same Jeromy who Lissa had compelled into helping us all those years ago, for inviting us out here for thanksgiving when we saw him tomorrow.
As I'm sure you all can tell, there will be a part two to this, the actual Thanksgiving story with more details that is if you guys want it. This one was just kind of a drabbly bit of fluff that I meant to post yesterday for a special lady and if she's reading this then I'm sure she knows that I'm talking about her…*cough cough* my girlfriend *cough cough* but anyway…you know how to let me know! Also let me know what you guys think about this one! And I know I didn't say it before, but happy Thanksgiving to all of you amazing people, I'm very thankful for all of you who read and review on my stories, you guys make writing fanfiction a really amazing experience and I love you all!
