A/N: A re-write of an old fanfic
Crow closed the door behind him releasing a heavy sigh. Today had been a hectic day. After winning the tournament, he had to get away from the mob of reporters trying to get the latest info on the blackwing duelist. They are really persistent.
He looks around his apartment only to be greeted by the emptiness and loneliness of it. He travels around quite frequently so there was no time to add a personal touch to it. Nor anyone to come back to.
It wasn't like Crow became a pro duelist just to find romance, but it would be a nice a addition to experience having a lover.
Even before they went their separate ways, Yusei had Akiza. Those two probably kept up with each other, there was no way they wouldn't. And Jack had Carly. From time to time Jack could be seen with Carly around his waist at tournament hosted parties. The two looked awfully cozy.
Was it wrong for Crow to want something like that too? Sometimes Crow felt like that one character from TV shows in the friend group that didn't get paired off at the end while everyone else does.
He decided to have a small snack before heading off to bed. He made it into the world of pro-dueling, but there was still this voided feeling inside him.
Once changed into his pajamas, he looked out the window at the stars. On nights like these, he would always stair at the stars to lull himself to sleep. Then he remembered a poem Martha had taught him.
'Star light, star bright
First star I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have the wish I wish tonight.'
Crow closed his eyes and whisper, "I wish for a true love."
With that he went to sleep.
When Crow woke up the next morning, there were a pair of arms wrapped around him. Warm and strong he could just melt into them. After a few short seconds, the alarm bells went off in Crow's head and he wiggled himself free.
"Are you awake?" The stranger said. He had two tone red hair a shade darker than Crow's. And striking green eyes.
"Who are you?" Crow demanded.
"Is this how you treat your wish?" He replied back.
Wish? It took a moment for Crow to register what he meant. But he really can't be yhe result of Crow's wish. Can he?
"My name is Brave." He beamed.
"Look Brave, I don't know how you got in or where you came from, but you have to go home." Crow said.
"I came from you and this is my home." Tears welled up in his eyes. "You wished for me and you don't even want me!"
He was crying like a little child. Crow's heart stung with guilt at the sight. If he was born from Crow's desire for a lover there was no reason to be so cold.
"Look, let's go eat some breakfast." Crow suggested.
Brave's eyes brightened moved to hug me. The problem was that the covers fell; sadly reveling to a lot more than what Crow wanted to see.
Wait? Was he naked the entire time he was in bed with me!?
Crow found some cloths for Brave. To be fair they were sweatsuits, so they were oversized and fit him just nicely. Crow finished making breakfast when he asked, "So what are you?"
"I am your wish. You wished for a 'true love'. So here I am." Brave munched away at his breakfast without a care in the world.
"That makes no sense. You were just a star in the sky." Crow said.
Brave shrugged, "I guess so. I have no memory of anything before I awoke in bed with you."
Crow had no rebuttal to that and decided to go with the flow. Maybe more answers would present themselves as time went on.
For now Crow would learn more about Brave and even himself as they navigate through their relationship. Slowly but surely the void Crow had felt began to fade away.
