I saw the sky today.

For the first time, I saw the sky. They tell me there's stars up there. I don't know. The artificial moonlight from the plate makes it too bright to tell. I still hope there are. Maybe someday the power'll go and I can see those too.

Lotta people saying how they hate AVALANCHE for making Shinra drop that plate. I went to do my shopping in Wall Market today, hell, wasn't anybody not talking about it. Heard there was some refugee from Sector 7 sitting out there. All he could talk about was how awful it was, how evil someone would have to be, and how heartless, to kill that many people just for no reason. And now talk is they didn't even kill those terrorists anyway. Eh, it's not like any of it matters. Whether or not you choose to believe they're gone, there's always more. So maybe it's not so evil, as pointless. I said as much to those people standing around, but most of them just gave me weird looks and asked was I one of Them. Ha... people never wanna hear the truth.

Truth is, people are dead, ain't nothing we could have done about it.

That's another thing, I love hearing the people who are just in shock from how many people are dead. Can't help but laugh, they're so freakin' self-righteous. They throw around terms like "The Planet must be crying" and "They died for nothing at all - " which couldn't be farther from the truth, y'know? Maybe the Planet ain't crying. All the energy of all those people, every living thing in Sector 7 - it's part of the Lifestream now. Right now, babies are being born. Trees are springing up. Little rivers are breaking outta rocks and stuff. The Planet knows how to take care of itself. Maybe they didn't die for nothing. More like, they were sacrificed for the good of the Planet. I don't miss them, I feel grateful for them. Maybe, without them, we wouldn't be here. Planet gives and Planet takes, and from what Planet takes it gives again. Seems like they've been saying that in school forever. We don't know why stuff happens, and frankly, why should we care? Good enough to be grateful it still keeps us around.

I don't think any of them realize at all that this really ain't a bad thing. All they wanna see is the negative side of stuff, focus on all that crap and put the blame on some group that probably didn't even do anything to deserve it. Well, fine, let them see that.

All I can see is the sky.
