Chapter 7

She looked at herself one last time in her full length mirror. A soft smile fell on her lips as she smoothed out the blue and white checkered dress that snugged her waist just right and fanned out to fall just above her knees. Caroline had bought it a few months prior on a clearance rack. The weather was finally warming up for her to wear with a white cardigan, the perfect outfit for her picnic date with Klaus.

It had been a week since the benefit. The person that put her bid in remained anonymous but part of her thought, perhaps, hoped that it was Klaus himself. She kept trying to ignore the feeling of doubt, that perhaps it was a trick of some kind. But what good could come of it? From what she could tell, he was interested in her and she certainly returned that feeling.

The past week at work went dreadfully slow. Damon was not in the best of moods and the Mikaelsons seemed to be making things worse for business. Even Ric, one of Damon's fraternity brothers from the University of Virginia, had hired the Mikaelsons to renovate the school where he was a principle. Stefan tried to explain that it was because Jenna, Ric's new fiancé was working for them and Klaus had agreed to a far lesser price. Something Damon wouldn't even do for Ric, his own best friend. While Caroline saw the softer side of Damon, she knew when it came to business, all bets were off and money was the most important thing to him.

Caroline was shook from her thoughts of Damon by a knock at the door. She took one final look at herself and went to answer it. Along the way, she grabbed the picnic basket she had packed, her insistence despite Klaus' desire to buy premade foods. Pulling open the door, she didn't expect her breath to catch in her throat. She had not seen Klaus all week. While she had typed out a few texts and quickly deleted them, the only contact they had was his receptionist Jenna who was looking for Lexie to go to lunch. Or those nights she lay in bed, imagining her hand was his.

Caroline blinked a few times and took him in. He really was a good looking man. He stood there, a pair of dark blue jeans, a button up shirt and black jean jacket paired with black boots. He wore a smile on his face that made Caroline's heart skip a beat. Perhaps she really did miss him…but it had only been a week…

"Good afternoon, Caroline," he was the first to speak as both seemed to be taking their time taking in the other slowly, "You look," he paused a moment, his eyes flashing a hint of darkness that made the girl feel warm in all the right places. Klaus took her hand, took it to his lips and kissed it softly. It created a tingle over her skin that Caroline wanted to feel again and again. His blue eyes flickered up to hers and she couldn't contain the bite of her lip, "Simply ravishing."

Klaus shoved his ringing phone into his pocket, the name ELIJAH flashing brightly before he made it stop. Just at that moment Caroline swung open the door. Klaus looked from the pocket he had shoved his phone in before lifting his eyes up to her.

He blinked a few times, finding himself unable to speak. Caroline truly took his breath away. It seemed that not seeing her all week really did effect him.

Klaus was finally able to come back to reality, quickly sliding his confidence back in place, "Good afternoon, Caroline," Klaus was pretty sure no woman had ever had this kind of affect on him.

"You look," he allowed himself a small break in his demeanor, his jeans tightening at the thought of pushing Caroline against the nearest wall. Je settled for taking her hand, longing to taste her porcelain skin. His lips peppered a soft kiss, wishing he could move up her arm to her neck. He forced his eyes up before his thoughts went further, "Simply Ravishing."

"So, you're telling me that Rebekah used to run around the house in nothing but her rain boots and mud to avoid bath time?" Caroline couldn't wipe the large grin from her face, imagining her best friend, a four year old tyrant in a house full of boys, "That really doesn't surprise me one bit."

Klaus laughed, taking a sip of his mimosa that Caroline had packed into the basket, "Her defiance has only perfected with age," he winked at Caroline over the rim of his glass and she couldn't help the blush that washed over her, or perhaps it was simply the champagne.

She couldn't remember the last time a conversation came this easy with a guy that she was attracted to. Hell, she couldn't remember ever being as attracted to anyone like she was Klaus. He filled her thoughts more than she was willing to admit and she only hoped it wasn't one sided.

They had been nibbling on food for at least an hour, croissants, cheeses and a few of Caroline's famous homemade jams. Klaus seemed to enjoy it all which Caroline was happy to see. She was a people pleaser, " I have to say, Caroline. Your picnic basket definitely outshined anything I could have mustered up."

She shrugged and was about to thank him when she felt a drop of rain fall on her face. She looked up and noticed the rest of the people in the park packing up there things in a hurry. They were so involved in each other they didn't even notice the dark clouds beginning to loom.

"Looks like the picnic is over," stated Klaus as they both hurried to put things away in the basket. By the time they picked everything up, the down pour started. They ran, laughing to the nearest tree to wait it out underneath. By the time they made it, they were both out of breath but still laughing.

Caroline leaned her back against the tree, her hands behind her back as she looked him over. He looked even better soaking wet. They caught each other's eyes. Neither said a word as Klaus moved closer and the blonde licked her bottom lip, creating a darkness in the man's eyes that made her yearn for him to be closer.

Finally, they were mere inches apart, one of his hands going to her waist creating a heat over her skin that lay underneath the dress, "I've had a wonderful time," his voice was quiet and low.

"Me too," she said softly, their faces closer now. Her eyes flashed to his lips and back to his eyes as his other hand cupped her cheek. He leaned in, their lips just grazing as if he was waiting permission to kiss her deeper. Caroline was impatient, however, closing any distance left between them for a kiss that made her knees weaken. He pressed her into the tree as he kissed her deeper, his tongue granted access, followed by a soft moan in Caroline's throat.

If he had the ability, Klaus was rush Caroline to his place with superhuman speed and keep her locked up in his bedroom until the sun came up the next day. Even then, he wasn't sure he would be able to let her go.

His hand had begun to travel from her cheek to her shoulder then soon around her waist. It was then that he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her flush against him, finally breaking the kiss, his lips still on her skin, he moved down to her neck, "K-Klaus," she whispered which was followed by a soft 'hmm' his lips not leaving her skin, "As much as I don't want you to stop, we-we've got an audience."

A groan sounded in his throat and he slowly pulled away and looked behind them. Two police officers were standing not far, their arms crossed but amused looks on their faces, "Time to break it up," one of them said, "Rain is about gone so kids will be running around soon."

"Yes, of course officers," Klaus slowly released Caroline and turned completely towards the officers, pulling himself together, "I apologize, we got a bit carried away," he stepped a tad closer to them and further away from Caroline, "We'll be on our way."

Klaus had picked up the picnic basket before slipping his hand into her own. The pair walked silently through the park hand in hand. Every now and again, she would glance over at him. He had a small smile on his face and a look of determination in his eyes.

As they walked towards his building, every now and then, Klaus would run his thumb along the crook of her hand that he held. It would send a jolt of electricity through her and Caroline really hoped they were close to his place.

She craved his touch, his lips all over her body as if only he could put out the fire be lit inside of her. Sleeping with him on their first date may have been tacky to some but dating these days was hard enough, when you find someone that just makes entire body shiver with anticipation it's hard to control that urge. Besides if he was a terrible man, surely his sister, her best friend, would have been more upset about their date.

"Here we are," Klaus announced.

She looked up at the tall building, Caroline knowing good and well she couldn't afford a closet in this place, let alone an entire apartment. Klaus greeted the doorman, Lenny and ushered Caroline to the elevator. Klaus hit the button for the highest floor and turned back to her, "Hopefully Kol isn't home," his lips hovered over hers then found her neck, his hands above her on the elevator wall.

Her breath hitched and she closed her eyes, "and I have no coffee to dump on his head," he chuckled against her skin as the door opened and he led her out. She fidgeted with the picnic basket as he unlocked the door and as she stepped inside, her mouth dropped, "Holy shit"

The place was massive with floor to ceiling windows around the entirety of the living area, the kitchen was open with stainless steel appliances and marble counters. There was a long hallway which Caroline assumed was where the bedrooms were, "It's huge, I know but I have a hard time saying no when it's such a great deal."

He took the picnic basket from her and placed it on a nearby table, "Come on," he whispered, ushering her down the hallway. Her heartbeat picked up and she nearly stopped him just to try and let her calm it down. But before she could do anything they slipped into his bedroom. The blinds were down about halfway so it wasn't too bright. She walked over to the tall, four post bed and turned to look at him.

"Nice digs Mikaelson."

Klaus pulled off his jacket, his shirt still somewhat wet from the rain. The sight of her standing there in his room was one he had wished for since the day he first saw her, "Nice digs, Mikaelson." Her words made him laugh softly but he didn't say anything. He kicked off his shoes and socks, Caroline ditching her strappy sandals as well. Their eyes never left each other, Klaus unbuttoning the front of his shirt as he made his way over to her.

"You're sure you want this," he asked quietly as he brushed some hair from her face.

She rose a brow as her hands slipped into his shirt and around his waist, "Very," she leaned in, taking his lips to hers. Finally, they were kissing again. It had seemed like an eternity since they had been interrupted in the park, "Unzip me," she said as she pulled away, turning and sweeping her hair to one side. Klaus observed the zipper that started at the middle of her back and he slowly pulled it down. It didn't stop until right at the very top of her ass and Klaus licked his lips,

"There you go, love," he watched as she allowed the garment to fall. She kicked it away and Klaus didn't hesitate to pull her back against him, causing Caroline to gasp. One hand rested over her stomach, the other wrapping loosely around her neck. When she moaned his name, Klaus pulled her closer, his hips rotating into her making her moan again. The hand that was on her throat traveled downward, brushing over the tops of her breasts that were heaving within her bra. He used his other hand to unclasp it and once the garment was out of the way, both hands found each mound, his thumbs brushing over each nipple which was hard to the touch, "Go lay down," he ordered in a quiet, raspy voice as he removed the button up shirt and threw it over a nearby chair.

Caroline did as she was told and Klaus watched her with dark eyes. By the time she was laying down, Klaus had removed his jeans and was soon hovering over her in only a thin pair of boxers, his cock hard and eager however it was her that Klaus wanted taken care of first and foremost. He sat back onto his heels, the sight of her causing him to shake his head, "What have I done to deserve this," he whispered. She looked at him from under hooded eyes, her body seeming to roll with need.

His hands smoothed up her legs and hooked around her panties before pulling them down. He licked his own lips and he leaned over, kisses placed along her thighs and he guided her to spread her legs further. His tongue took a quick swiped up her folds, causing Caroline to moan, her hands in his hair as he tasted her. Klaus found her clit and sucked before switching to his tongue moving within her folds again. Her sounds of pleasure only made him want to continue on, determined to taste her release. A finger, then two slipped inside of her, moved slow at first before picking up speed. He watched her face, could feel her tighten around his fingers and as soon as she let go, his mouth was back on her, tasting her cum with a loud moan.

"Klaus," she said in a breathy voice. He knew what she wanted without her saying any more. Quickly he removed his boxers and pulled her to him, her hand wrapping around his cock, swiping the precum that sat there. He guided her over his length and they both released a sound of pleasure as she slowly sunk down onto his length. She moved up and down with ease, Klaus bringing one breast into his mouth as he rose his own hips to meet her own.

Perhaps it was the fact it had been so long since he last slept with anyone, or she just was that amazing, but after just mere minutes in that position, Klaus screamed out her name and she his as they both came together, collapsing down onto the bed.
