Chapter 2
Maui was beaming. He had simply come to Motunui to deliver the news that Te Fiti had asked of him. Though when he'd arrived, he did not expect to find Moana lying on the beach, tearfully confessing her feelings about him. He had, of course, shared these feelings, but despite being a demigod, he did not have the courage to confess to her.
The way Moana opened up to him, embraced him, told him that she loved him... even the way she kissed him made the butterflies go crazy in his gut.
He held her hand warmly in his as they made their way back to the village. Maui stopped for a moment. He took his hand touched a small stone, big enough to fit in her grandmothers' old locket. Once he touched the plain stone, it glowed as it turned a transparent red like a ruby. It gently lit up in sync with his heartbeat.
"Moana," He smiled, handing her the stone.
"What is this?" She asked, looking at him with great eyes.
Maui blushed, rubbing the back of his neck. "My courting gift to you. It beats as my heart does. Please, wear it in your locket?"
She smiled as she eyed the beautiful stone. Nodding, she placed a kiss on the stone before storing it in her necklace.
That small act made Maui smile brightly. He took her hand once more, continuing to walk with her to the village.
They spotted Moana's parents when she removed her hand from his.
Maui looked at her, his expression confused.
"Please, do to the council hut. I will bring my father and mother away from the villagers. I want to announce it to them alone before the village knows of our courtship."
Maui nodded, his expression full of understanding.
Maui walked towards the council hut on the top of the hill. He knew meeting Moana's parents officially was going to be an impressive feat. While he was a demigod, he knew how tough-natured her father was, even with her as a chief for the continuation of their tribe.
Maui sat in the hut, thinking back on what all had happened that night. He knew that he had feelings for Moana, but he could never have imagined that she also shared those same feelings. What would have happened if he had not come to deliver Te Fiti's news?
While Maui sat there, thinking about the events of tonight and the future ahead, Moana made her way to her parents, who had come back into view of the return of the first tribe voyage celebration party.
"Moana!" Tui smiled, pulling his daughter into a tight hug. "You went on such a long journey! How was it? Please, sit."
Moana smiled at her father's enthusiasm, but she knew that what she had to tell him needed to come first.
"Father, can you and mother please come with me to the council hut? I have something important I want to discuss there." Her father looked very confused. "Please, father."
Tui nodded, sensing the true importance of the situation, though he wondered what it could be that was troubling his daughter so much that she didn't want to partake in the celebratory feast right away.
Sina smiled, knowing full well what this would be about, but she knew it was not her place to tell Tui. Moana wanted to tell him, and she knew this.
"Moana, is everything alright?" She asked, playing as if she did not know.
"Yes, it is not like you to not want to eat." Tui probed.
Moana nodded, "I know. I do plan on eating, but this is very important."
As they ventured closer to the hut, Moana could feel the nerves begging to get ahead of her. She knew she had to keep her cool, to keep calm. She knew that there could be a slight possibility that her father would be angry simply because she had not announced her feelings for Maui to him at any point in time. Though despite that, Moana was more than happy with how things were moving at this moment. She loved Maui, and she loved the way he loved her.
Once at the door, Moana turned around to face her parents.
"So, before we go in, I wanted to explain why I brought you here. I have decided on a suitor, and I wanted to discuss it with you privately."
Tui's eyes widened. He nodded as Moana entered the hut first.
Moana entered, joining Maui at his side, feeling his large and hot hand holding hers. "They're entering." She whispered as the straw door moved; Tui's eyes grew wide as they saw Maui, hero of man, standing beside their daughter, holding her hand. Sina smiled, seeing and feeling the warmth and happiness from the two.
"Moana?" Sina asked, gesturing at their hands.
Tui stepped forward, examining the situation before him before he spoke. "You have chosen Maui, hero of man, as your suitor?"
Moana nodded. "He crafted me a gift for our courtship." She said, opening her locket.
Sina's eyes examined the red stone and gasped when it gently thumped and lit up.
"It beats as his heart does. I wear it in grandma's locket."
Tui nodded, "You both are sure about this courtship?"
Maui kneeled before the tribe chief.
Tui shook his hands frantically, "Please! No, please do not bow to me. I should be bowing to you."
Maui shook his head, "Cheif Tui of Motunui, I am Maui, Demigod of the wind and sea, Hero of man, wish to courtship Moana of Motunui. I... I truly love her. I promise to protect her life with all I can. Please, allow me to court your daughter."
Tui nodded frantically, "Yes, yes! I'm more than happy that you wish to court my daughter. I just wanted you both to be positive that this was what you both wanted."
Moana nodded, smiling. "Yes, father, this is..." she shook her head, "He is what I want."
Sina smiled and hugged her daughter tightly, wrapping her arms around Moana tightly, "Oh my sweet girl!"
Tui cheered happily as he pulled everyone into a hug, the chief becoming a teddy bear that very moment. "We have to announce it to the village. If you two are courting, I give permission for Maui and you, my daughter, to share your hut. Should be plenty of room. Just promise me one thing."
Moana nodded, "Yes?"
"I know it is early to say this... But I'll hope for grandchildren before I die."
Moana and Maui gasped, Moana blushing darkly.
"Tui! We're so young." Sina shook her head, giggling. "I'm sorry, Chief Tui has had some spirits tonight. You two follow us to get some food. Your father will announce your courtship to the village and then you two can enjoy," Sina winked, "the rest of the evening."
Maui chuckled, taking ahold of Moana's hand as they made their way down to the village feast.
Moana knew what she wanted to do with Maui, but she also knew the importance of announcing to the village first.
Tui gestured for the two to follow him to the front. "Please, everyone! I need your attention!"
Almost too quickly the crowd got quiet. Quiet enough that Maui could hear the shock from the crowd to see him standing with their Cheifs.
"Good evening. Tonight, I have received the most wonderful news! Moana of Motunui has announced her courtship to I, Cheif Tui, with Maui, Demigod of the wind and sea, hero of man."
The crowd cheered excitedly.
Sina raised her cup, "Please, let's celebrate the two of them and their love. Let's feast."
Moana could feel the heat in her face as she blushed darkly. She didn't notice at first when Maui was glancing at her until they sat down and he offered her pork.
"So, I have to ask, how did you two find out about your feelings?" Sina asked.
Maui cleared his throat, looking at her curious parents and their village.
"We never admitted our feelings at the end of our conquest to return the heart of Te Fiti. Two years went by. I thought there was no possible chance she loved me. I came here to give her news from Te Fiti herself when Moana confessed. My feelings came back to me and we knew that it was destiny."
Sina seemed awed by the story.
Tui's face stayed curious. "News, from the mother island?"
Maui nodded. "Yes, Te Fiti asked me to tell Moana of her offer. She wishes to give Moana the status of Demigod of Sea and Courage, and bless her with immortality."
Gasps rang through the feasters, her parent's faces full of shock but also happiness.
"The mother island wishes to grant her demigod status and to give her immortality?" Tui asked. "I can not believe it. That is incredible."
Maui nodded.
"Would there be any life, reproductive, or other downsides?" Sina asked curiously.
Maui shook his head, "No, demigods have all the same abilities as humans except for being stronger, less fragile, and immortality at their side."
The village showed their mass excitement for Moana with her engagement as well as her gift from the mother island. As the feast and celebration came to an end, Moana and Maui excused themselves from the village before moving to Moana's hut. Inside was a stone fireplace with dirt in front to deter fire. In the hut, there were a couple of rooms separated by straw curtains.
Maui chuckled and swooped Moana up into his large arms where he hugged his princess tightly. "Ku'u Aloha."
"Oh... Maui." Moana smiled. She found herself being lulled into a trance as she eyed her demigod. His stature was huge, but she knew she was completely safe in his embrace. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he sat cross-legged before the fire, caressing her back gently as he brought his lips to the nape of her neck.
Moana could not help the carnal urges she felt taking over her mind, body, and soul. She wanted him, but she wanted to take this slow. He was, of course, her first time. She buried her hands into his hair, one hand massaging his scalp while her other hand ventured down his chest.
"Moana..." Maui said, her name reverberating on his tongue. He loved the way she felt, so warm, so soft, and so tender to him.
For Moana, her body felt electrified as his hands gently massaged her body. She loved his warmth, she loved his touch, and she loved his passionate way of saying her name.
Starting again where they left off, she found herself pressing her lips to his neck. Once she did this, she felt the stone in her locket thumping rapidly. Now she found she could tell when she excited him and she knew that she wanted to push it a step further. Moving her mouth from his neck, she moved her kisses to his shoulder and to his chest, here some lovingly suckled against his hot skin.
Maui took every ounce of control he had to hold back from his primal instinct. He wanted to hold back so this was passionate. He had waited all those two years for her, thinking he could never have her, when she was in fact right here with him.
The feeling of Moana gently suckling and love biting at his skin brought him to a line that could not be uncrossed.
Pulling her back for a moment, he caught his breath.
"Moana, I'm just making sure that you're absolutely wanting to do this tonight."
She nodded and pressed her lips hungrily to his, practically bucking her hips in his lap.
He knew there was no return as he picked her up, looking to ensure the straw curtains covered her open windows and that the wooden door locking mechanism she'd crafted were set in place for their moment to be completely private. He smiled when he knew they were and this moment was only theirs. Placing her on her bedding, Maui hovered over his princess, peppering her face, neck, and shoulders with kisses. He found himself looking into her eyes for permission to undress her.
Moana nodded, sitting up to undo her tops tie, the soft fabric falling to the side of her. She blushed at first, never having shown her body like this to anyone, she moved her arms to cover her chest.
Maui shook his head, gently taking her hands in his. "Please Moana, you do not have to hide your body from me. You are beautiful. Do not be ashamed."
It took a moment, but she nodded, finally moving her arms away.
Maui loved her body, she was perfect to him, but he could understand her nerves. With his mortal age well over hers, he knew that she'd be inexperienced, and he knew he wanted to do everything he could to make his love comfortable. He peppered her chest with kisses, taking her hot peaks into his mouth to kiss her and suckle at the supple skin that was hot for him and their soon-to happen union. Nodding, he moved his kisses down her flat but curvy tummy, he got to her skirt. Looking back up at her, he looked to her for permission once more.
"Please Maui, please don't stop?" She asked so gently, gingerly rubbing his head as he removed her skirt.
Smiling, he was happy that she loved him. She was special to him, mortal or immortal and he was happy that come tomorrow, he could take her to Te Fiti and she could join him in immortality. He moved up so his lower half was between her legs and his upper half hovered over her. He leaned down to press his lips to hers again before whispering, "Listen... I know this is your first time... this will hurt at first, but I promise to make you feel good. After this, I promise that I will never intentionally hurt you again."
Moana nodded, "Thank you. You take such good care of me, Maui." She hummed as she moved her hands to move his grass skirt away. Doing this, she found her gaze meeting his member and she blushed. She was sure that not only being her first time was the reason he said it would likely hurt. Though, she loved him and knew that he was what she wanted.
Maui smiled and entered her slowly but as quickly as he could to end her pain.
"Ahh!" She cried out.
Maui was very angry with himself for hurting her at all, but he knew this came with womanhood. He was one and connected with the woman he knew he wanted and he knew wanted him back. It took everything he had in him to not thrust away, but he cared more about her comfort.
When Moana encouraged him further, it didn't take long for the two to realize just how amazing this act was between two people in love with one another. There was so much passion, love, and compassion in this one moment that the kisses, the tight holds, and the moans between the two brought them close to their peaks.
Moana cried out as she felt her body crash over its peak, Maui meeting her there.
"Moana, Ku'u Aloha!" Maui grunted as his peak crashed against him, bringing him waves of ecstasy.
Moana sighed happily as she felt the warmth of their peaks creating a sense of harmony and love between the two.
Maui moved himself from her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling the blanket around both of them, kissing her neck once more before the two let the relief of sleep consume them.
"Maui?" She whispered.
"Hmm?" He asked, gently smoothing her hair as he was falling asleep.
"Ku'u Aloha."
Maui chuckled and tightened his hold on his princess, Moana falling asleep along with her demigod, the sound of the crashing waves and the crackling fire lulling them both to sleep.
