The disclaimer for Harry Potter is in the first chapter. I'm just reminding people, that the image in the cover art, including the glam picture of Karen Mulder (Yeah, that's my youthful version of Mrs. Simmons, hell yes!) or the red-haired avatar girl (Courtesy of SlytherinSal), that cute mother and boy shade. Or the Grimm dog, heck not even the image of the galaxy is mine, I found them on Google images; I got into a crazy search on how to do collages and then compressed the image and placed the result as a Cover Art; it was a very frustrating process and for those who appreciate it, THANK YOU!

Chapter 2. The trials and tribulations of the Godparent Vows.

The next morning, Harry opened his eyes and complained. Mary woke up and smiled, "Hey you. My goodness, I never imagined you would be so cute; you are going to be a heartbreaker aren't you?" She hugged Harry, and the toddler gave her a bunny smile. She added, "I wish we had a good man to help us on this journey." Lily came into Mary's memory and the vision of a young man, making the magical vow to be a godparent, appeared. Lily took control of Mary's body and called out, "Luz and Jules, find me Sirius Orion Black and bring him here, stun him if you must. I have a bone to pick with that mutt."

The two elves nodded and disappeared afterward with a loud crack. In the meantime, Mary/Lily smiled at the toddler who was too comfy with her breasts. "Well, I guess there's no point in delaying it, you sir, need a bath, so let's get that sorted out."

After a morning shower, and Mary learning that Harry loved making bubbles, the two finish their morning ablutions. Mary stepped into the kitchen and prepared a small breakfast for the baby and her. After the dishes got washed, Luz and Jules brought a young man who looked broken. Again, Lily manifested through Mary's body.

Sirius was about to face Peter at The Strand St and, before he could say anything, he felt paralyzed. Seconds later, he lost sight of right or wrong. When he woke up, he realized he was a prisoner. Still, the house looked somewhat familiar; it had the Potter crest at the landing, but a strange woman stared back at him.

To begin, the hostess was not a classic beauty. Regardless, her unique presence, fair skin, ash-blond hair, voluptuous figure, and poised demeanor captivated him. Only one other woman made him feel so out of dept on their first encounter and that was Madame Augusta Longbottom. Then, he understood, she was an old soul, wise, beautiful, and powerful. Then he looked at her bosom, and right there a tiny mop of hair turned and recognized him.

"Paafoo?" said Harry.

Tears began rolling down his face as he recognized the tiny voice and his godson.

"Harry?" The woman's eyes, the same emerald green as Lily, became feral. He saw how Harry began pouting, close to crying. The woman blinked and kissed the boy in her arms and quieted him. Harry blinked, smiled, and got comfy in her arms, then yawned and went to sleep. The woman spoke, "Welcome to Casa Potter, Mr. Black. My name is Mary Simmons and I have a story to tell. Right now, Lily is incandescent and I will not let her speak to you; she was about to make Harry cry."

Sirius noticed Mary's eyes, how they went from emerald green to a golden hue, just like Moony before the full moon. But this woman was not a werewolf. She was different; a spirit possessed her. And then he understood; Lily Potter possessed her. He knew things like this didn't happen without a reason. That idea frightened him. He sensed he made a mistake, as the notion that everything went pear-shaped seemed to get clearer and clearer. Lily was incandescent? He was going to get a double ear chew, first by the elegant woman in front of him and then by Lily.

After Harry got placed in bed and covered by a blanket, the woman turned to him and said, "From the beginning. It all started on the 31 of July 2046 in little Whinging at the address of 4 Privet Drive. I just recently purchased the place. I didn't care if the house had a bad roof or needed new plumbing, the thing was easily fixed, but then I stumbled on a false wall. With the help of an architect and a construction team, the wall came down. I was in the area, inspecting the advance, and stood still as I realized the men became paralyzed by the sight in front of them. The body of a teen boy, perfectly preserved, was behind that wall."

She made a pause as she took a sip of a cup of tea that appeared just on her nightstand and continued with her tale.

"The thing about him that really hurt me was that he was naked. I didn't know who he was, or the conditions of his passing, but to have this beautiful teenage boy die to be placed inside a cupboard under the stairs, and then have a wall raised in front of him in order to pretend he didn't exist, broke my heart. Unlike the surrounding men, I reached out to this boy, and I pulled him against my chest. I began crying tears of rage, acknowledging that somewhere on this planet, he left a mother and father wondering where he was and his friends crying. Above all, I was enraged by his death, his untimely death that went unpunished. I'm a mother, yes, my son by then had his own family, and I needed not to get involved."

Mary took a breath and continued.

"However, Mr. Black, this boy reminded me we all need love, just a little bit of love and kindness. As you can imagine, people took the news in different ways. I brought the police and paid for a DNA test to find a name and placed his body to rest, knowing that Harry James Potter died at age 15 as a victim of a Dementor. A monster that sucked his soul out. Because he felt so hopeless, he needed the monster's touch in order to hear the voice of the only person who loved him so much. Who stood in the face of that killer and begged for the life of her boy."

Sirius could not speak; he was numb. Just as he feared, things had gone to the gutter. Mary continued. "After the service was done, Lily came to me in my dreams and asked me a question, 'If you had the chance, would you raise Harry as your own son?' I didn't stop and think about the question, really, my heart and soul answered while my brain was still mourning that poor boy. Magic brought me back to the front door of the house in which baby Harry was to be placed. 4 Privet Drive. Lily's voice woke little Harry and after, together, we visited the bank. Magic gave orders to the goblins and they listened, and now, Luz and Jules are here. Lily called them to bring you from where you were and so far, the only other surprise was that I look the same as when I was twenty-six years old."

Mary smiled a cryptic smile, then added. "It makes sense since I became pregnant at that age in my original life. Now, looking at this sweet child, I wouldn't change my mind. Which begs the question, what were you thinking when you left your godson in the hands of a stranger. What was so fucking important that you had to run out on the only thing that mattered at the time?" said Mary pointing at the slumbering child.

"I, I'm sorry. The death of James and Lily devastated me. I, I have no excuse for what happened next. My friends died and all I could see was that we trusted the wrong bastard to be loyal. I went blind with rage; I was stupid and I failed Harry at the one moment he needed me the most."

Mary looked at him and raised one eyebrow. She added, "Harry had an array of tracking charms, a core block on his magic, and a cursed scar, Mr. Black. All of that removed, he now has a new identity. Mind you, there are still maniacs out there looking for my boy in order to execute him while the rest of Magical Britain is celebrating the passing of Voldemort. In short, my son was going to be cared for by Attila the Hun's henchmen and now, it's not that difficult to picture what the outcome was going to be fourteen years down the road. Magic couldn't take such a loss or ignore the plea of two mothers at different times begging for him to be protected and cared for. Hence, here we are. I'll release you from those bonds, and return you to your chase. Have a happy life and forget us since that was your priority. I don't want a man in Harry's life that cannot keep his promises. Keep in mind though, if you step out of this house and continue your chase, you will not only lose your magic, you will also lose sight of Harry and me, because, I promise you, you will never find us. So make your choice."

Mary's eyes became emerald green and looked at Sirius. "You know Paddy, I don't need to add a single thing to what Mary said. Having an elder speaking for us is brilliant. I really want to throttle you, but Mary's words are all I need. I will hunt the bastards that ripped me from my family, but I will let Mary not only nurture Harry but also me. So listen closely you stupid mutt, get on the horse or get off it, but we are moving forward, with or without you."

"I'm sorry Lily; I'm sorry Harry. Mary, I will never, Merlin help me, I will not step away from my duty as Harry's guardian ever again."

Sirius began glowing and the magical godparent vow that attached him to Harry manifested. However, a string that was coming from a different source was like a bolt of electricity.

Lily added, "Alice is in danger, the god parenting bond on her is weakening."

Sirius looked desperate. "Please Lily, let me help Alice."

Lily nodded and said, "Of course, but you will not go alone. Luz and Jules take Sirius to Alice Longbottom's home. She is Harry's godmother and she is being attacked by malicious magic. Bring the family here."

Two hours passed and Sirius, the Longbottoms, and the two house-elves moved to Casa Potter somewhere in Spain.

Frank and Alice got placed in one room and they summoned a healer for them. Madame Augusta Longbottom held on to baby Neville while Mary/Lily prepared tea for her. Luz took Neville for a moment while Lady Augusta regained her bearings.

She said, "Again, Mr. Black, thank you for showing up unannounced. You saved us. I don't know how much Alice and Frank could take from the Cruciatus curse. I could have lost them, and you came and killed those monsters. The Longbottoms owe you a life debt, if you ever need anything, please let me know."

Mary/Lily stepped in and placed a cup of tea in Madame Augusta's hand. She introduced herself. "Hi, my name is Mary Simmons, and I'm sure you are wondering what is a muggle doing inside the Potter's home? Well, let me show you why I'm here."

She took Lady Agusta's hand and drew her to the master bedroom in which a black mop-haired toddler was busy babbling to his house guest. While Harry kept on babbling, sharing his toys, and giggling, baby Neville was looking at him as though he was weird and funny. Harry sneezed and Neville giggled and nothing soothed Lady Augusta more than to hear her grandson laughing, but, more importantly, feeling a sense of normality, after the assault her home and family suffered.

"Goodness me, is that baby Harry Potter?" asked lady Augusta.

Mary/Lily smiled and nodded. Sirius took that moment to breathe and said, "Lady Augusta, I would like to explain what Regent Mary Simmons is doing here. First, though, you need your rest."

Lady Augusta took a moment to glance at Sirius and then to Mary and added, "Nonsense, I'm old, not senile, I will listen to what you have to say, Sirius Black."

Mary smiled and nodded to them and sat next to the babies. She began playing peek-a-boo and tickling them. Which really made the grand matron raise her eyebrows in surprise was that Neville was usually a silent and shy boy. It was unusual for him to respond so openly to strangers.

Sirius called her. "Madame Longbottom?"

"Ah, yes, sorry about that. It's just that I've rarely seen Neville so at ease with a new person. Go on."

Sirius took a deep breath and told Lady Augusta the story of what happened before Mary had brought him here, and then what happened after Mary and her house-elves had trapped him and she had given him a piece of her mind. The sad story of Harry's future and the journey to Spain and Gringotts, and at last rekindling the godparent vow, which brought to their attention that Alice was under attack.

At the end of the tale, Lady Augusta turned to the Potter Regent and realized the boys again were sleeping. She asked, "Are you really the regent of House Potter, then?"

Mary smiled without teeth and nodded, then Augusta noticed Mary's eyes shifted from golden to emerald green, just like Harry's.

"Yes, Mary is the regent of Potter House. She has my magic, and she will be the one tending to the education of Harry. Harry now has a new name, Andrew James Simmons. Andy for short. As you can see, Mary has a way with children, including the mangy mutt behind you."

Lady Augusta placed a hand on her mouth and added in a whisper, "Merlin, Lily, it really is you. Magic doesn't take this type of action unless the need is dire. Was Harry doomed that you have to come back from the dead and now take the body of a willing and loving muggle mother?"

"Yes Gussie, I had to come back. Only five decades after my Harry's passing did I find not a muggle, but a Squib, suitable for the job. Mary's magic is dormant, still, her plea was true and Harry's soul broke from its casing. At last, death made his case to the fates. I tell you it was a real mess. No matter, Mary agreed to be a mother with my aid. And trust me, so far, her experience and sharpness have placed a lot of things in their proper place," replied Mary/Lily.

"Very well, could you please show me the Regent ring?" asked Lady Augusta.

Mary did. After the ring appeared, Lady Augusta broke down in sobs and hugged Mary, crying for the wrongness that was erased from that boy's future just by opening her arms to him. To Augusta, magic was mighty, and it wanted to help them, and now her children's lives and her own changed forever. All because of the tears of a couple of extraordinary women through time.
