"We are gathered here today, to honor the life and legacy of the communal sweatshirt." Jay announced somberly, looking at the other five members of the team.

"For the last time, I said I was sorry!" Cole protested, resulting in a hiss from Kai.

"You're lucky you were invited to the funeral, shirt murderer. Now shush."

"I was cold, and communal means everyone, not just those who are...you know!"

Jay cleared his throat before continuing, shushing Kai and Cole instantly.

"I remember when we first got the sweatshirt. We were getting new clothes for Lloyd after he was hit by the Tomorrow's Tea when Kai and I laid eyes on it. With it's soft purple fabric and the ugliest embroidered cat I've ever seen. The 3X was the only one left, and I knew. That this was the new member of our family."

"See, look at Lloyd," Kai interrupted again, nudging Cole and Jay looked at Lloyd, who had a very neutral look on his face, his arms crossed over his chest, "he's clearly emotionally distressed."

"I'm fine, that shirt was ugly." Lloyd piped up, glaring at the shirt, but Kai just shrugged him off.

"He's in shock, once it wears off, he'll be inconsolable."

"I'm starting to think you're emotionally distressed." Nya retorted, giving Jay the chance to continue.

"The shirt has been with us ever since. During the ultimate battle, as we were fighting against the nindriods, against Chen's army and even against the ghosts. This shirt has been the best blanket for video game tournaments and movie nights; through nightmares and moments of panic."

Jay couldn't stop the tears from building up in his eyes, even though they were mostly summoned by his ability to act (thank you, terrible game show.)

"With that, we have gathered here to lay the communal sweatshirt to rest. Thank you, for being a friend through thick and thin. We will never be able to replace you."

"Guys, this is really dramatic for a sweatshirt that we can probably find in a thrift store." Cole argued, picking up the shirt and folding it.

"Well, you don't have to worry about it. You're lucky we're not holding a trial to figure out if this was premeditated." Kai snapped back.

"We really should get back to training, everyone," Zane spoke up, being the voice of reason, "we'll try and find another sweatshirt this afternoon."

The group started to walk away, leaving Jay standing by himself in front of the makeshift set-up they made for the funeral.

"You guys ruined my chance of being in charge of a funeral." He grumbled, taking off the black suit jacket and bowtie before following the others to the training course.
