Kouga looked at Kagome through the rear view mirror, "Have you tried to make contact yet?"

Kagome nodded, "One of their elders is friends with my father. He is coming over for a sports event tonight. I plan to ask for an audience when I get a chance."

Kouga nodded back. Ayame sighed and switched the conversation back over to English, "So much tension! Anyways, you already talked to the vamps right? How did they say these wolves would react?"

"The way it was explained to me was that the local tribe was a specific gene within them that became active again after a hundred years of dormancy because the vamps moved back in. The actual wolves are still young. The oldest is in his early twenties. The elders are in the know but are just normal humans." Kagome explained.

"Shit!" Kouga cursed, "They're only pups. That could be a serious problem. I see now why you decided to go to the elders instead of the alpha."

Kagome sighed, "I just hope the alpha doesn't feel insulted by it."

"What happens if he does?" Souta asked.

Kagome bit her lip, "It could get ugly. If he decides that we are a threat he could force us to leave. Dad and Bella would be fine but the rest of us would have to relocate or risk a turf war."

"We don't actually want this territory, so we will most likely leave before that happens." Ayame added.

Bella started to get worried, "But how would you be able to explain that to dad?"

Kouga answered her, "We would most likely move to Seattle. We all already own places out there, so it wouldn't be hard."

"I already plan to explain Sesshomaru as a close family friend. If we have to leave, I can just explain it as him finding me a better school to attend in the city. I would have you guys come visit as much as I can but I doubt I would be able to do the same." Kagome added.

"But I thought that Carlisle said Forks was their territory and the reservation was the wolves' territory. Doesn't that make a difference?" Bella asked.

"That actually might help." Kouga answered with a thoughtful look, "The vamps have already welcomed our stay, right?" Kagome gave an affirmative. "Then Sesshomaru may not care what the wolves have to say. As long as they don't try to start a fight with us or the coven that is allowing us to stay, then he may refuse to leave just because we make a few pups feel uncomfortable."

"I think we are all getting ahead of ourselves here," Kagome said, "we can go on all about the 'what ifs' for hours but we are just gonna talk ourselves in circles. We can discuss what to do next after I talk with the elder tonight." Everyone gave a sign of agreement as they pulled into the driveway beside Charlie's police cruiser. Bella paled while Kagome gave a nervous chuckle, "You think he's mad?" Bella covered her face with a groan.

"Well, we might as well face the music." Souta sighed. Kouga started getting out and Kagome climbed over the console following him out. "Wait up, Sis!"

They all piled out with Kagome leading them into the house. Charlie was sitting at the kitchen table drinking a beer. Kagome winced when she felt his agitated aura, "I can explain, Dad." Charlie gave a nod and motioned for her to continue. "These are friends of mine from back in Japan. They were staying in upper California and decided to move up closer to me so I had some familiar faces around. This is Kouga and his wife Ayame." Kagome pointed and motioned them forward.

Kouga came up and shook his hand, "Glad to meet ya!"

Charlie grunted, "So what kinda job just lets you drop everything and move on a whim?"

Kouga laughed at his boldness, "Well it helps when I own the business. It's a family ran construction company. I build houses and that work can be found just about anywhere."

Charlie nodded, "Yea, I guess your right. So is it just you two?"

Kouga shook his head, "Nope, we got two more coming." He nudged Kagome.

"Well, umm, another close family friend is moving here too with his teenage adopted son. Me and the son went to school together so we are really close. They both miss me terribly, so decided to move here." Kagome explained. Sesshomaru explained the cover story to her last night when she called him. She was excited that Shippo would be joining her for school.

"These two have names?" Charlie asked.

"Oh!" Kagome blushed, "Yea Sesshomaru and the son is Shippo." Charlie gave her a confused look at the names. "They are family names!" Kagome explained and he just shrugged it off.

Charlie turned back to Kouga, "So you like football?" And with that they were both invited to stay for dinner.
