The Kiss
Gemma threw the ice packs on the table, she watched both of her sons lean forward and grab one. She shook her head when she heard her husband laugh, even though he was trying to hide it behind his morning cup of coffee. She turned her narrow eyes onto him. She was to pissed right now.
"Gem, it's not really a party without a fight or two." Clay remarked with a smile at his wife which she did not return.
It wasn't the fight that was bothering her it was how the fight started and what happened after. She returned her eyes to both her sons who were just staring at one another not talking.
Gemma, the forever seeing eye, saw the exchange between her youngest and Haley and then the exchange between her eldest and Haley. Then between her two Sons.
Last night...
Gemma watched Sam and Haley. She could see and had seen it since she caught them on Sam's bed, hell she had seen it in Haley's eye for a long time but now she saw it Sam's. He liked her and she liked him and that spelt trouble and clearly seeing the way they way her son had be acting lately he knew that as well. So she wasn't surprised that there talk seemed to end a little sour especially with the Carmichael girl draping herself all over Sam.
But as Gemma watched Haley move through the crowds, she could tell she was upset . That did concern Gemma but not as much as seeing her walk off by herself. Haley was a beautiful young girl and that combination in this crowd made her easy prey.
Gemma started to move through the crowd herself, not wanting to leave the young girl alone, however she stopped when she saw Jax almost running towards the way Haley had disappeared. Gemma manoeuvred herself so she could see better and by the time she had she saw Jax throw the punch about
It escalated quickly and Gemma looked back at Clay, her expression saying everything without her uttering a word. While she watched her husband along with Tig and Bobby rush over to where the fight was erupting. Gemma went after the little blonde who was now running from the crowd. Gemma never managed to catch her but she just made it in time to see the young grab her bike and cycle away.
When Gemma returned the fight was over, all of Samcro celebrating her sons victory Gemma however grabbed her sons face eyeing the cut on his cheek. She shook her head.
Although his brothers were cheering him Jax looked furious and Gemma didn't miss his eyes scanning the lot.
"She's gone. Took off on her bike." Gemma confirmed finally giving her his full attention.
"What happened?" Sam asked finally arriving to see what was going on.
"Nothin'," Jax responded wiping some blood from his cheek.
"Haley." Both Jax and Sam turned to look at Gemma.
"Shit." Sam wiped a hand over his face before sparing a look back at Chrissie.
"What?" Jax asked anger still clear in his voice from the fight he just had and the fact that something was telling him that his brother may have been involved Haleys upset.
"I upset her and then she..." Jax shoved Sam "What the hell man., what's your problem?"
"YOU." Jax snapped shoving him again.
Sam pushed his brother back but the next thing everyone knew was Jax was throwing a punch at his brother.
Gemma always knew Haley and Sam would get into trouble with their feelings but now Gemma was concerned about Jax. When Sam and Jax were separated Sam stormed off so Gemma went to Jax to get answers. He had brushed off her questions, her concerns, if she needed to know something about him and Haley but Jax never answered her instead he just stormed off in the other direction. But if there was one thing that Gemma was not about to let happen was her sons fall out over a girl.
"You two need to sort this shit out. Your brothers. Club brothers. I'm not having this shit. You two should always have one anothers back. Not beating the shit outta one another." Gemma spoke firmly before looking over to Clay. She cocked her head and started to leave the room. Taking the hint Clay got to his feet and started to follow his wife.
"Clean up starts in 30 mins." Clay spoke firmly. Before he left the room he looked back at the two brothers. "Sort this shit out cos I don't need to be getting shit off my Old Lady because you two can't play nice."
Jax held the ice to his cheek as he looked at his brother, he was sulking and Jax couldn't blame him. He had took a cheap shot at him last night but the adrenaline was still running through his veins when his brother confessed that Haley's upset was because of something he had done, but he was wrong to lash out, and as he was the eldest he made the first move.
"Your right hooks improved." Jax watched the smallest of smiles creep onto his brothers face.
"Yours hasn't."
"That's because it doesn't need to." Jax remarked with the famous Teller smirk that he and Sam had both inherited from their Dad. "Look last night..."
"You don't need go there Jax." And Jax really didn't, Sam knew that he had messed up with Haley he knew the day he had told that he and Chrissie were official and that he was stepping away from her. The distance he had created between them he hated it and last night he had really be able to see the damage that he caused between them, so right now the last thing he needed was a lecture from Jax. "I better get to the clubhouse."
"We good here?"
"Yeah we're good Jax." Jax nodded knowing that the conversation was over.
Daniel Parker watched his daughter. She was helping him out in the shop which he always enjoyed but today she was distracted. At first he had put it down to her studies but he had watched her sit behind the counter, book on her lap, as she gazed out of the window. Up till now he hadn't mentioned anything because in all honestly Daniel was afraid of the answer because he was afraid that this had something to do with Samuel Teller.
He knew that the young Teller had turned 18 last night and he knew that it meant his was now Samcro. Daniel Parker loved those boys they had grown up with his daughter. Elise- his late wife- had loved those boys but now that they were older, teenagers Daniel was concerned. Samcro had changed since he had first moved to Charming. He heard the talks and whispers of the town folk, watched the police arrest various members overs the years and it worried him about his precious daughter getting caught up in any of that. She had her whole future ahead of her.
"Hey sweetheart...Haley." Speaking her name caught her attention and she turned to look at him. Sadness lingering in her beautiful eyes. It hurt Daniel to see that.
"Sorry dad. Do you need something?"
"You ok?" It was like she suddenly realised that she had let her sadness been seen because she quickly smiled trying to reassure her father but her smile didn't reach her eyes. "You were quiet when you got in last night."
"I was just tired dad." Like he didn't believe her smile he didn't believe his daughters words.
"Is this anything to do with Samuel?"
"Dad" , Haley closed the book on her knees and straightened up in her chair. She had never really lied to her Dad but there were just something's, like the college applications and Sam that Haley didn't know how to approach with her father. And she also knew that there would be no way she could explain last night to him. She knew full well that she shouldn't have been there and if she confessed that to him and told him about Sam, the man grabbing her and Jax hitting him then her Dad would freak out and ban her from the clubhouse for life, although Haley wasn't sure she would be going back there anytime soon, and she really did believe that her friendship with Sam was over, so what was the point in hurting her Dad.
Getting up from her seat she grabbed her bag and slid her book inside before throwing it over her shoulder. She came and stood in front of her Dad.
"Im fine Dad. I've got to go or im going to be late for work." She placed a kiss on his cheek "I love you Dad."
"Love you too Kiddo."
Daniel Parker watched his daughter leave the shop and all he could think about was that she really was growing into a beautiful strong intelligent woman. But he was worried about her.
It was late and Haley was finally closing down the machines. It had been a busy night at the theatre as it was opening night on some slasher movie. The books that Haley had brought with her to try and read in the quiet times hadn't been touched. And Haley was well and truly exhausted but she needed all the money she could get, which is why she offered to do the lock up.
With the final switch turned off she grabbed her bag and headed for the door but as she looked up she saw the last person she expected to see.
"We're closed."
"Hales." Haley shook her head and walked past him pulling the door open hoping he would get the hint to leave.
"I need to close up."
"Wait im sorry..." He watched her shake her head. She was growing inpatient with him, he could tell and he didn't blame her.
"Just leave." At this point she actually walked out leaving him no choice but to follow.
He watched her lock up in silence, anger clear on her pretty face. But she was silent and couldn't even look at him.
He really had fucked things up last night and he just wanted to let her know how much he cared for her, so as she went to walk away from him anger clear he reached out and grabbed her arm.
"Don't Sam."
At this point he could see the tears in her eyes from the hurt he had caused her and he hated it, he never wanted to hurt her ,in his own way he was just trying to protect her, she deserved better but this separation had taught him something, he felt for her, cared for, he missed her. And with those thoughts in mind he did the thing that he had been thinking about since Gemma caught them on his bed. He kissed her.
