Graduation

Part 2

"You look so beautiful."

Haley spun around to see her father standing in the doorway. She was dressed in her cap and gown and had even tamed her normal frizzy curls into soft curls. She wore heels which was a rarity but the smile that was on her face was gleaming.

Haley had been preparing for this moment since she started high school. She had always wanted to do her Mother proud and she hoped that she was. But seeing the smile of her fathers face she knew that he was proud.

"Thanks Daddy."

"Here." Haley looked at the small gift that her father pulled from behind his back. It was in a small red box.

"You didn't have to get me anything."

"Well I did, and I have. But this isn't from me." Haley pulled a face. "It's from your Mom."

"Wha...What..." Haley was stunned.

"She told me to give you this when you graduated." Daniel came to stand in front of his daughter. "Here open it."

Haley hands were shaking as she accepted the gift. She took a breath before she started unwrapping it. Opening it up, Haley shed a tear when she saw the heart pendant bracelet, she had seen pictures of her mother wearing this bracelet and she always wondered where it had gone. Looks like her Mother was planning ahead.

"This is beautiful dad." Haley was starting to cry at this point. Her Dad quickly pulled her into a hug.

"She loved you, and she would be so proud of you."

"I miss her."

"Me too sweetheart."

"You look handsome."

Sam looked over his shoulder to see his mother standing in the doorway. He was currently dressed in his cap and gown. Something he never thought would happen. But with a best friend as his tutor, she was never going to let him fail.

Sam walked over to Gemma and kissed her on the cheek. "Thanks Ma."

"So Clay told me about your request. We're you going to tell me?" The smile that had be on his face soon faded.

"Of course he did." Sam knew that Clay wouldn't be able to keep their conversation to himself and truth was that Sam of course was going to tell his mother and Jax but he wanted everything in place so his mother couldn't change his mind. "I was going to tell you."

"How by postcard?"

"No after the vote went through today."

"Sam."

"I know I messed up Mom." Sam confessed taking a seat on his bed his head falling into his hands.

Gemma looked at her youngest son. He looked broken. When Clay had told her she wanted to slap the shit out of him for being so stupid but looking at him now she knew that this was a hard decision for him and she was proud that he was stepping up like the man she had raised. But Gemma also didn't trust the bitch. She took a seat next to her Son and pulled his face from his hands making him look at her.

"You sure she's telling the truth and that it's..." Gemma never got to finish her sentence as Sam shot to his feet.

"MOM..." Gemma was back on her feet too.

"Maybe I should speak to her..."

"No. You leave her alone. I swear you go near her you'll never see me again." The threat was there and that would be the last thing that Gemma wanted.

"Okay baby, but Tacoma? You don't have to leave you could stay here."

"You know we can't." Gemma noticed his face soften and Gemma realised why staying was not an option.

"Haley."

Haley of course would made things more complicated. That girl loved Sam and this would crush her, it would also cause issues with her farther. Having her around this was probably not best, not right now but Gemma would not allow her son to leave Charming for good. That would be over her dead body. But she knew a difficult situation when she saw one.

"Are you going to see her before you leave?"

"Yeah I just don't know what to say." And Gemma could really see the pain in Sam's eyes. He was just a kid himself. She stood in front of him and placed her had on his cheek.

"You do what you need to do sweetheart, go to Tacoma sort the shit you need to then you come home." Sam nodded knowing the meaning in her words was that she would not allow her family to live outside of Charming. "But as for Haley you need to decide if she is your future or your past. Don't drag her along."

"Mom..."

"Do you love her?"

"Yes."

"Do you see her as your Old Lady?" Gemma countered.

She watched as Sam struggled to answer her. Young love and a girlfriend was one thing but an Old lady was something completely different and Gemma had her reservations if Haley could be that. She had her whole future ahead of her and she had seen what falling in love with a woman like that had done for Jax. Tara had broke his heart and abandoned him, Gemma although she loved Haley a whole lot more than Tara she knew that Haley would leave her son too she would not let that happen to her Sam.

"Baby you know what you need to do."

"But Mom..."

"You've already made your choice."

Sam watched her from afar. She was dressed in the same cap and gown as all of his classmates and that he had been dressed in. She looked beautiful. He loved her crazy curls but today they were different, smoother and he could tell she was wearing makeup which he rarely saw her do. Basically she looked beautiful. She had given an awe-inspiring speech that just proved that Haley was not only beautiful on the outside but the inside too.

Following his chat with Gemma, she was right he knew what he had to do. Chrissie was already gone, she wasn't attending the ceremony but Sam had wanted to go to see Haley speak to her see her graduate and listen to the speech she had been working so hard on. But Gemma's unspoken words lingered in his head and he knew what he couldn't go, so he missed the ceremony and watched from a far. He watched as she looked around for him worry in her eyes. But that wasn't enough Sam needed her to hate him.

Daniel couldn't be prouder of his daughter. Her speech had been amazing, so heart felt that it brought a tear to most eyes including his own.

When the ceremony was over he rushed over and embraced her. "You were amazing sweetheart."

"Thanks Dad." He watched her looking around. He hadn't missed that Sam was absent. His name had been called twice by the principal but they quickly moved on when they realised Sam Teller was not in attendance.

"Im sure he's okay." Haley looked up at him. "Sam."

"Yeah."

"Look this is your day Hales you focus on that you deserve this." Haley gave him a tight lipped smile and a side hug. Something wasn't right she could feel it and she also didn't miss the fact that Chrissie was missing from today's graduation as well.

"SAMMY...SAM."

Sam sighed. It was Jax. He was expecting this but he was hoping that he would be on the road before he had to have this conversation. He loved his brother but this conversation was not going to end well.

"SAMMY..." Jax turned the corner to his brothers room and stopped when he saw the holdall on the bed. He looked at his younger brother. "Tacoma?" Jax spat.

When Clay had called a vote Jax presumed it was about something else, guns, but when the transfer was put on the table and it was for Sam he was shocked. How did he not know about this? It made no sense and as he watched his brothers, who couldn't really look at him, vote yay Jax knew that he was missing something.

When the table cleared he called out Clay thinking that this was his play but it wasn't Clay explained that this was Sam's request which caused Jax to be even more confused. He needed to speak to his brother.

"I'm not in a mood for a lecture on this Jax."

"Why?" Sam shook his head. He knew whatever he said Jax would not understand his decision. "Talk to me. What's going on Sammy?

Knowing that Jax was not going to let him leave without answers Sam decided to tell him the truth.

"She's pregnant."

Jax felt like he had been winded. Haley? Was she pregnant? But then why Tacoma?

Sam watched the confusion and concern etch upon his brothers face and he knew that his thoughts had gone straight to Haley which didn't surprise Sam. It was always Haley.

"Chrissie, she pregnant and it's mine." Sam watched which he was sure was relief wash over his brothers face. "Her dad has a new job in Seattle. She's leaving Jax. I have to go with her."

"Sammy." Jax sighed. "I'm sorry man." And he really did feel sorry for his little brother. He was freshly 18 he had just got his prospect patch, his life was just starting and a kid would change that.

"It's my kid Jax." Jax nodded he would do the same. Teller men stood up to their responsibilities. But there was someone else that Jax couldn't help but think about.

"Haley?"

Sam smiled a sarcastic smile. He knew this was coming. Sam had done nothing but think of her today but he was doing what was needed. So ignoring the question and not really waning to talk about this with Jax, he grabbed his bag off his bed with the intention to leave but Jax stopped him by placing a hand on his chest and blocking the doorway with his body

"You haven't told her?" Jax stated. He didn't his brother to confirm it his face said everything. "You can't just leave her."

"It's better this way. Now move out of my way." Sam spoke calmly.

He knew what Haley was planning tonight and knew that he would be standing her up. It would break her heart but that was what he needed to happen. He needed Haley to hate him.

Sam waited for Jax to move but he didn't so growing frustrated Sam pushed his brother out of the way creating a space for him to walk through the door, but Jax quickly caught Sam and pinned him against the hallway wall causing some of the hanging photos to drop to the floor and smash. Both ignored it.

Sam wasn't shocked by the anger. He had witnessed it at his birthday celebrations at the clubhouse. They had got physical with each other and both of these situations had one thing in common. Haley.

"Do you like her?" Jax was shocked by the question and instantly dropped his hold on Sam.

"What?"

"Hales?"

"No." Jax shook he head, it wasn't that but he did feel protective of her and right now she didn't deserve what Sam was doing. "She's family Sam and you just leaving will break her." Jax snapped angrily.

"Maybe that's what needs to happen." This was all getting out of control and Sam knew that he was probably out of line speaking to Jax like that. He ran his hand over his face. "I love Hales Jax. But I'm going to be a Dad and I need to be there for Chrissie. You know Haley will take this on and be amazing but she's better than this. You let Tara go." Sam knew that he was on shaky ground mentioning Tara's name and the narrowing of Jax's eyes confirmed that. But he continued he needed Jax to understand. "I need to let Haley go."

Jax understood. He knew that he could have made Tara stay if he really wanted to but as much as it broke his heart she needed to leave and Sam was right. Haley would side-line herself and take on all of this, but how would that affect her future because she deserved all the greatness that was coming her way and becoming a step mom at 17 was not that.

Jax grabbed his brother but this time he embraced him in a hug. Even though he didn't agree with everything his brother was doing he finally understood. And for an 18 year old Jax did respect him stepping up. "Love you brother." He felt Sam hug him tight and heard his sobs and in that moment Jax knew that this was breaking his brother just as much as it was going to hurt Haley.

"I love you Jax."

They broke from the embrace and Jax watched as his brother wiped at his eyes before walking down. before leaving he stopped and looked back at Jax.

"She's at the streams, the abandoned house. She is waiting for me."

Jax nodded understanding the unspoken request. And with a nod from him Jax watched his brother disappear out of the house.

Haley lit the last candle and looked around. She had decorated the abandoned house in fairy lights candles blankets and pillows. It looked pretty, romantic. Just what she wanted it to be. She also changed out of her clothes into a white silk dress. It was far from her normal style but she just wanted tonight to be perfect because tonight she was going to make love to the person she loved.

She checked her watch it was 8.05 he was late but that wasn't unusual for Sam, but she hadn't heard from him all day and after his absence from the ceremony Haley was concerned, but he said he would be here and she knew he would just leave her.

It was 8.20 when she heard an approaching motorbike and she couldn't stop the smile on her lips. She jumped to her feet heading for the door.

"Sam I was starting to thi..."Haley stopped when she opened the door. "Jax,..."

Suddenly every fear that Haley had came true. Something was wrong and now seeing Jax standing in front of her she knew that Sam wasn't coming.

Authors note: Well done Kara315 for guessing correctly, Chrissie is pregnant. Lets see what happens from here. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter.
